Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 329: Reward Requirments
"Fuck!" Brandon hissed, watching Seth’s thumb smash down on the red button without a single care for repercussion.
Pulling his friend by the leg, the sudden jerk in motion caused Seth to lose grip of the remote, leaving it to fall into the sea, Brandon grabbed tightly onto Seth protectively.
In the distance a quaking explosion raged, the wind ripping closer to their frames, dragging waves so high it would dwarf even skyscrapers.
The shadow of the looming body of water casting upon the human troops, their hearts shook as cold winds raged, displacing their momentum mid-air and causing thrusters and energy weapons to malfunction.
The humans screamed and panicked, falling back into disarray, their frames spiraling down uncontrollably, as heavy winds and tides overpowered their control over their descent.
The bodies of water were too disrupted to hold much tension, but their frames had long decelerated enough to withstand the impact of the mass of humans scattered amidst the storm.
Those without armour doing their all to hold onto those without, Brandon plunging straight into the sea, shielding Seth with his own body, while his jet thrusters coughed and sputtered weakly in an attempt to decelerate descent.
Their frame collided with the cold embrace of the salty body of water, plunging straight to the depths, fortunately not splattering to mush on impact with the surface.
Rolling deep into the depths of the ocean, several bodies followed right behind him, their frames sinking straight down supported by their momentum.
The raging waters swallowed their frames whole yet the humans understood pretty clearly that the worst had yet to come.
Quickly within spans of seconds the humans scampered to gather balance and control, trying not to end up disorientated, confusing above from below.
Alas, just like they anticipated, the raging tide came crashing, the water, already raging, became even more tumultuous, the dangerous waves raging wild and without control.
The humans were swept away by the force of the tide, Brandon struggling to hold onto Seth as the waves flung him farther away from the group.
Within the commotion inevitably the humans ended up being scattered and separated by the chaotic tides, some swept towards the west, others south, east or north.
There was no control, only chaos, exhausted, battered, and stressed; the humans couldn’t even resist the ride, the captain unable to even muster enough strength to swim against the raging currents and the soldiers fared even worse.
Their frames flipped and choked in water, dragged along with the waves, where tides rose they rose, where it fell they fell.
There was no hope for the group with some already making peace with the fact that they would die in the depths of the force of nature simply too strong to resist.
But it was at that same moment all traces of the genesis island had been severed, the pocket dimension banished out of Earth, the disruption in the atmosphere calming not on a physical level but on a spatial plane.
The frequencies settled, as the surroundings meshed back under Earth’s control, returning back to Earth, meaning...
The World Saint Title was finally active!
The consciousness of the world, once receding, caught a whiff of the awakened presence of Seth, and compelled by the world saint title crowned on Seth, it came to a sudden halt.
Focusing on Seth’s damaged presence, a flood of world essence poured Seth’s way, flooding his frame with world essence.
Brandon, unable to feel this flood of energy as his senses remained blind to it, remained clueless, all while Seth’s veins bulged thick, the world essence flow transforming into a vital flow.
His gene skill Vitality Overflow, revving into action and siphoning the force into the congealed vital core formed in his solar plexus.
The core emitting thick pulses of vital essence to which his body drank greedily, his brain drawing the most percentage of the force to alleviate the lost will and mental fatigue his mind had been forced into.
Boosting the activity of his bronze cells on a cellular level, his body began to recover and adapt to its surroundings, his lungs beginning to grow more air chambers growing denser and larger, to contain more air formed by the pure flow of worldly essence.
It was safe to say that the world was quite generous with its actions, treating Seth like a child of its own on a more intimate level.
And so it went Seth silently recovered while Brandon, unaware and stressed, remained occupied with holding tight to his friend and keeping both of them alive while still unable to help but worry about the others.
...
At the same time, on an ethereal plane of Earth...
The section fortunes reigned visible, and the physical bore no direct influence, Seth’s consciousness awoke.
[Congratulations! Seth Duskreaver You have been chosen!]
It was the first thing he saw the moment his blurry sight suddenly got clear, his consciousness suddenly snapping awake into awareness.
A strange feeling washed over him, as he realized he couldn’t feel, move or even talk, it was as though his consciousness was present but his body absent, a feeling he was too familiar with.
The last time something like this happened, he had found himself in Eden, coincidentally that had happened after a tough battle too.
’Wait this can’t be considered a tough battle right?’ Seth chuckled to himself forming thoughts.
After all, though he transformed into a freaking divine beast he didn’t have the chance to wield such colossal form in combat, it was mostly used as an efficient means of transportation, Seth felt deep regret, feeling it was quite a waste.
Speaking of wastes his mind drifted to a blurry flow of text he had seen right before he went unconscious...
[Alert! Primordial Flash sale incoming!]
If he had a face he would have winced in pain at the thought, it seemed a flash sale caught up to him at the worst time possible, over the last two weeks he had been on an insane unlucky streak as all the items auctioned on flash sales weren’t quite useful.
Who knew if this was the breakthrough he needed? The thought of the possible treasure he was missing out on nearly drove him insane.
But in the end there was nothing he could do... ’Sigh... let’s understand what I was chosen for first!’ he muttered via thought.
Shit like this happened quite frequently to the extent Seth was hardly fazed by stuff anymore... focusing his attention on the text forming before him, he soon realized it wasn’t a text, it was just a way his mind conceptualized it, regardless he continued reading...
[Congratulations! Humanity Has Completed a Hidden Quest: Slay the Flame Dragons to extinction...]
[Error! Error! Error!]
[Correction! Flame Dragons had evolved to superior species Gold Dragons...]
[Congratulations! Humanity Has Completed a Hidden Quest: Slay the Gold Dragons to extinction...]
[Calculating Rewards...]
If Seth could smile he would smile, after all this just told him his plan worked out in the end, ’I see, so programming my body really was an effective possibility.’ Though it was a plan pieced together in an impromptu moment, it opened doors to possibilities for him regardless.
The strings of text continued to form, as his attention focused back on it.
[Calculation won’t be complete until candidate Seth Duskreaver completes basic requirements...]
’Oh? A requirement?’ Seth thought, intrigued, he was about to continue reading when all of a sudden his mind was violently jerked right into something, the feeling sudden and uncomfortable.
"What the fuck!..." before the realization that he could talk set in, a string of text bloated his sight.
[Congratulations You have possessed the human race idol! The fortune embodiment of the human race: MAN!]
[You are to complete the following requirement to determine humanity’s reward: Defeat the Golden Dragon race fortune embodiment, Golden Dragon King, the more fortune you siphon, the greater the rewards for humanity.]
Confused, disorientated and lacking any context, Seth blinked, finding himself in a sea of void, a starry space that glowed with multicoloured primordial clouds, and right before him was a giant, angry gold dragon.
