Infinite Evolution: Dominating The Apocalypse With My God Tier Items
Chapter 320: Fire, Life?
Seth cast a wide-range mental scan across the core instantly, though the place looked dry and empty he refused to believe that an entire race of dragons were dirt poor.
Especially once one recalled that this location was precisely their genesis nest, there had to be something good tucked hidden away somewhere.
While he was searching, he felt the Glyph dragon sulking, its emotions portraying its disappointment.
"Ah man. I’ve already apologized to you little guy, don’t worry I will find you another meal, at another time." Seth muttered trying to console the pet companion.
But the glyph dragon’s mood didn’t improve, not even in the slightest, and Seth could understand, if he were in its place he too would be pissed.
Being with Seth for so long, the glyph dragon had never once shown interest in anything, and the one time it did, it was so close to getting itself a meal.
Its prey simply decided to implode itself into self-destruction, leaving nothing behind at all, not only denying the glyph dragon its meal, but also making Seth fail a quest for the first time.
[Quest: Feast Of The Abyss]
[Status: Failed!]
Seth sighed helplessly, previously both man and pet were so busy trying to stay alive they could barely acknowledge this loss.
"Don’t worry little guy, next time we find you some suitable prey, I’ll make it a priority task." Seth muttered in apology.
After all the black dragon imploding was also half his fault, he had to take responsibility, if he had attacked the monster more vigilantly then maybe there would have been an intact corpse for the glyph dragon to indulge in.
But right at that moment his thought process halted, realization dawning. "Bingo!" he practically yelped in excitement.
Locking onto a cave located at an inconspicuous corner of the mountain range, fortunately, this was a dragon’s handiwork, making the space big enough to accommodate his frame.
’I shouldn’t waste more than a few seconds.’ Seth sorted mentally still not forgetting he had his entire division awaiting his arrival.
Plus if all the dragon had entered the forced hibernation state he had seen so far, it would mean those on the surface were in the same predicament.
By that logic, it meant that all other divisions above should also be rounding up, because without any more obstacles their mission would only proceed even smoother without a hitch.
Just as Seth was finalizing this thought he arrived before the cave, his hulking frame landing right before the massive cave tucked at the side of the crimson mountain clusters.
Just by standing outside Seth could feel the overwhelming richness of flame essence thriving in the entrance. His eyes lit up even more, his maws watering at the thought of whatever the dragons had stashed away.
Crawling into the dark cave, his eyes like giant purple orbs lit up the lightless surroundings, revealing a tunneling spiral that went deeper than he had initially assumed.
The space was too cramped to fly, mostly due to the fact that he was larger than even greater dragons in this state.
But he could attempt a four-legged sprint, hopefully that should be fast enough... mapping out the tunnel with a mental scan, Seth began his journey, moving fast.
Previously he had restrained from using his willborne abilities so far, due to the rapid will exhaustion it caused, but seeing that things were nearing their end.
His mission was halfway complete, and with no enemies around to cause trouble at least for now, he wasn’t sure how long that would last though.
It gave him some assurance, allowing him to expend a bit of will to activate the willborne skill: Dimensional Strider.
Folding space as he moved, he covered distance faster than he was supposed to, his massive frame costing more will each time the skill was activated, but it was necessary if he wanted to loot and retreat fast enough.
Within seconds a flicker simmered in the distance, the flow of essence getting thicker, the difference in flame essence becoming noticeable the closer Seth got to whatever the source of said essence was.
Unlike the usual flame essence Seth was used to, the type that represented destruction and annihilation.
This flow of essence felt quite starkly different, the warmth embracing and soothing, almost like a nurturing heat that fostered life, the type that kept every living thing alive.
The closer Seth got the more he felt revitalization...
This feeling reminded him of something Brandon once told him...
"Big bro, among all elements guess which embodies creation the best?"
Seth slouched on the couch and shrugged, "I don’t know, I’m not that much of an elemental user so you tell me."
Brandon chuckled. "Hehe, it’s fire, big bro, fire embodies the spark that represents life, it is the embodiment of creation so extreme it is often mistaken for destruction."
Seth paused, recalling this conversation... "I think now I can see what he meant, the embodiment of creation so extreme it is mistaken for destruction."
Musing, he wondered, "Wait, don’t tell me..." Seth thought, arriving in a lit, spacious room.
"This is the birth site of dragons!" he concluded, staring at the mass of floating dragon eggs before him.
Scaled orbs massive in size each almost as big as an adult human, bobbing and drifting above a lava lake of sorts.
But something was different with this lake, it wasn’t harsh or as destructive as those he had interacted with before.
Seth dipped a leg inside the liquid, feeling the soothing caress of a vital force seeping through the seams of his scales and travelling down his essence pathways.
This force... it was different from the vital essence Seth was used to.
No that energy was used to regenerate and fix life, this energy was meant to nurture!
One might not see the difference between these two but it was more astounding than one could imagine.
Vital essence merely acted as a stem cell of sorts, a force that helped regenerate destroyed organic matter, or as some would say, cells.
It didn’t help improve life; it merely stitched damaged tissues or cells back together. But this force not only regenerated, one could use it to improve their body in real time.
Well, that was only if used properly, it could potentially emulate the womb state, pushing the body that was already at its peak even further!
’Holy shit, I’ve struck gold, haven’t I?’
