Chapter 118: The Hidden Young Master of Cloudwater Sect
Yu Liang looked at the sorry state of the disciples before him and frowned slightly.
Their injuries were far more severe than he had initially thought. The Passion Sect’s extraction methods had damaged their very foundations. If left untreated, most of these people would have their cultivation permanently crippled and some might not even live past the next few months.
"Sit down, all of you," Yu Liang said calmly. "I’ll treat your injuries."
Ling Tao quickly shook his head with his pale face. "Senior Brother Yu, you’ve already saved our lives. We can’t trouble you further. These injuries... we’ll just return to the sect and slowly recover in the medicinal hall—"
"No," Yu Liang interrupted. "By the time you reach the sect, some of you will already be dead. Sit."
His tone left no room for argument. The disciples obediently sat down in rows.
Yu Liang reached into his storage ring.
The first thing he pulled out was a large porcelain bottle. He uncorked it and an overwhelming wave of medicinal fragrance instantly flooded the disciples. The scent was so rich and pure that just breathing it in made the disciples’ damaged meridians throb with warmth.
"Tier 4 Meridian Rebuilding Pills," Yu Liang said casually, as if he were handing out candy. "Everyone with meridian damage, take one."
He tossed the bottle to Ling Tao, who caught it with trembling hands. When he looked inside and saw that the bottle contained at least thirty perfectly round, glowing pills, his jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
"Th-Th-Thirty... thirty Tier 4 pills?!" Ling Tao’s voice cracked. "Senior Brother Yu, a single Tier 4 Meridian Rebuilding Pill costs over ten thousand Mid Grade Spiritual Stones in the sect’s exchange hall! Y-You... you’re just giving them out?!"
"There are more where that came from," Yu Liang said indifferently.
He reached into his storage ring again. This time, he pulled out a jade box. When he opened it, a soft, golden light spilled out, illuminating the dark cave. Inside were several stalks of a luminous golden herb.
"Tier 4 Golden Sun Spirit Grass," Yu Liang announced. "For those whose vitality and blood essence were drained. Chew one stalk and swallow the juice. It will restore at least ninety percent of lost vitality."
The disciples who had aged prematurely, their hair turned white and their skin wrinkled, stared at the golden herb with wide, disbelieving eyes.
Golden Sun Spirit Grass was an extremely rare herb that could reverse aging and replenish lost life force. Even Core Formation elders would fight over a single stalk at an auction. And Yu Liang was casually handing it out to a group of Qi Condensation outer sect disciples as if it were common roadside weeds.
"Senior Brother Yu... this is too precious..." one of the aged disciples stammered with tears welling in his eyes. "We... we don’t deserve—"
"Take it," Yu Liang said, pressing a stalk into his hand. "Your hair is already half white. Do you want to look like an old man for the rest of your life?"
The disciple couldn’t control and burst into tears, he immediately chewed the herb. Within moments, a warm golden glow spread across his body. His white hair slowly darkened, his wrinkled skin smoothed out, and the deathly pallor on his face was replaced by a healthy flush. He looked decades younger in just a few breaths.
Seeing this miraculous transformation, the other disciples were completely stunned.
But Yu Liang wasn’t done.
He pulled out another bottle. "Tier 3 Ice Fire Cleansing Pills. For those who inhaled the Passion Sect’s poison mist. Take one, and the poison in your dantian will be neutralized."
Then he pulled out another box. "Tier 4 Blood Nourishing Jade Marrow. For those with severe blood loss. One drop should be enough."
Then another. "Tier 3 Soul Stabilizing Incense. Light it and let the smoke wash over you. It will repair the damage to your spiritual sense caused by the illusion arrays."
Pill after pill, herb after herb, treasure after treasure. Yu Liang pulled them out of his storage ring with the casual attitude of someone taking snacks out of a pouch. The ground in front of him was soon piled high with glowing bottles, jade boxes, and fragrant herbs, each one worth a small fortune.
The cave fell into an absolute silence.
The disciples stared at the mountain of treasures with their wide eyes, mouths hanging open. Some were even rubbing their eyes, convinced they were still trapped in the Passion Sect’s illusion.
"Am I dreaming?" Chen Rui whispered while clutching a Tier 4 pill in his hand. "This single pill is worth more than my family’s entire estate..."
"He’s not a disciple," Gao Feng muttered, his voice filled with awe. "He’s a hidden young master. He has to be. He definitely is. No ordinary outer sect disciple could possibly have this kind of wealth. He must be the secret heir of some ancient cultivation clan."
"Hidden Young Master..." the phrase spread through the crowd like wildfire. The disciples looked at Yu Liang with completely different eyes now. The spotless white robes, the casual attitude, the bottomless storage ring... everything pointed to one conclusion. This was no ordinary cultivator. This was a Young Master hiding his true identity in the sect.
Most of the disciples were overwhelmed with genuine, profound gratitude. They knew how brutal the cultivation world is and they also knew just how precious these materials were. A single Tier 4 pill could cause a bloody war between small sects. And Yu Liang had just distributed enough wealth to buy a small city, all without a hint of hesitation or regret.
"Senior Brother Yu’s grace is as deep as the sea," one disciple said, his voice choking with emotion. "I will never forget this for the rest of my life."
But not everyone shared the same sentiment.
In the back of the group, a few disciples exchanged subtle glances. Their eyes flickered toward the pile of treasures sitting in front of Yu Liang and a dangerous, greedy light flashed in their pupils completely focused on the materials before them, not even listening to the surrounding, all they could think was...
’So many Tier 4 pills... so many rare herbs... if I could just take a few, my cultivation would skyrocket...’
’He’s just a Qi Condensation cultivator. He got lucky with the supervisor because the man was already injured. If I gathered other people to work together...’
’He’s showing off his wealth so carelessly. He’s practically begging to be robbed...’
Three disciples in particular, a tall man named Zhou Wei and two of his close associates slowly shifted their positions, subtly moving closer to Yu Liang’s blind spot. Their hands drifted toward their weapons.
Yu Liang didn’t turn around. He didn’t even glance in their direction.
But behind his calm expression, his spiritual sense had already locked onto every single one of them. He could feel their greed like a foul stench in the air. Their killing intent was faint, but to his keen senses, it was as obvious as a beacon in the dark.
’Interesting,’ Yu Liang thought as a cold smile formed on his face. ’Go ahead. Try it. I was just thinking the cave was getting a bit too quiet. I’d love to show you what the fear of death truly looks like.’
He deliberately left a few bottles of Tier 4 pills sitting carelessly on the ground near his feet, as if inviting them to make a move. His posture was relaxed and his guard seemingly down.
But the greedy disciples hesitated. They looked at the sea of corpses surrounding them, the mangled remains of hundreds of Passion Sect cultivators, including a Peak Stage Foundation Establishment expert and a chill ran down their spines. The blood soaked ground was a stark reminder of what this "careless young master" was capable of.
They had one thought, ’What if he’s not lying and really defeated these people all by himself?’
They swallowed hard and forced their hands away from their weapons, their greed turning into fear.
Yu Liang sensed their hesitation and felt a flicker of disappointment. ’Cowards. What a pity.’
He turned his attention back to the grateful majority, who were now fully engrossed in healing themselves. The cave was filled with the soft glow of medicinal energy as dozens of disciples simultaneously absorbed the High Tier Pills and Herbs. Their auras steadily recovered, their complexions improved, and the deathly atmosphere that had hung over them gradually dissipated.
Ling Tao, who had finished taking his pill, walked up to Yu Liang once more. His eyes were red, and his voice was thick with emotion.
"Senior Brother Yu, I don’t know how to repay you. The resources you’ve spent on us today... it’s more than what we can earn in a lifetime. We... we are truly unworthy."
Yu Liang waved his hand dismissively. "It’s just some pills and herbs. They’re meant to be used, not hoarded. What’s the point of having wealth if the people around you are dead?"
The disciples heard this and were moved to the point of tears. Such a casual attitude toward unimaginable wealth... such generosity toward people he barely knew...
In their hearts, Yu Liang’s image had completely transformed. He was no longer just a powerful senior brother. He was a benefactor, a savior, a hidden dragon whose true depths they could not even begin to fathom.
And those few who had harbored greedy thoughts? They lowered their heads, their faces burning with shame and lingering terror, silently thanking the heavens that they hadn’t been foolish enough to act on their impulses.
Because looking at the mountain of corpses around them, they knew with absolute certainty, if they had tried, they would have become just another stain on the cavern floor.
