Chapter 117: A Shower of Talismans and Group Of Loyal Poeple ( BONUS COLLECTION Chapter )
Yu Liang looked at the three battered, trembling figures before him. He let out a soft sigh, shaking his head.
"I’ve seen your limits and mine too," Yu Liang said calmly.
He raised his right hand and two glowing yellow talismans appeared between his fingers. They were Tier 3 ’Thunderfire Talismans’. With a flick of his wrist, he sent them flying towards the Overseer Zhao and the others.
Boom!
Boom!
Massive explosions of golden lightning erupted. The sheer force shook the entire underground cave. However, when the smoke cleared, Overseer Zhao, Mo Feng, and Liu Ruyan were still alive. They had desperately activated Tier 3 High Grade defensive talismans, forming a effective barrier that had blocked the fatal blow, though they were now coughing up blood and on the verge of collapse.
Seeing this, Yu Liang’s eyes suddenly lit up. He wasn’t angry, he was actually hyped up.
"Oh? You can block it?" Yu Liang’s lips curled into a joyful smile. "Let’s see how many you can block."
He waved his hand.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Instead of two, dozens of Tier 3 talismans flew out at once.
But he didn’t stop there.
His hand moved in a blur and hundreds of glowing talismans poured out of nowhere like a golden river, completely covering the ceiling of the cavern.
"Let’s see how you will deal with this." Yu Liang said with a little anticipation.
Hundreds of Tier 3 talismans detonated simultaneously. The entire Blackstone Mountain seemed to tremble. A blinding sea of fire, lightning and various types of Qi swallowed the three of them completely. The sheer destructive power was enough to level a small mountain peak.
In the face of this apocalyptic bombardment, Overseer Zhao slowly closed his eyes, a bitter smile appearing on his face. At this point, he had already accepted his fate. His spiritual energy was completely exhausted, and his body was barely holding together. He could no longer maintain his defensive stance, let alone resist the overwhelming attacks crashing down upon him.
There was simply nothing left he could do.
But Mo Feng, his eyes filled with madness, suddenly roared. "I won’t die! I won’t die!"
He bit his finger and smeared blood on a pitch black talisman. This was his absolute last trump card, a Tier 4 defensive talisman!
"Golden Mountain Shield!"
A massive, condensed golden shield erupted, covering the three of them. The hundreds of Tier 3 attacks crashed into the shield like a tidal wave. The golden light flickered violently, cracking under the immense pressure. It held for several agonizing seconds before shattering into countless pieces.
The remaining dozens of Tier 3 talismans washed over them without any obstruction.
When the dust finally settled, there was no more Overseer Zhao, no more Mo Feng, and no more Liu Ruyan. There was only a scorched crater and a few unrecognizable pieces of bloody rags. ’Tch, all that show for nothing.’
Yu Liang clapped his hands together, dusting off the non existent dirt. He looked down at his dust stained and torn clothes with blood all over.
He frowned a little as he didn’t like being dirty, not with all this blood.
With a wave of his hand, a fresh set of Cloudwater Sect robes appeared. He changed right there in the middle of the carnage.
Then, he took out a small jade bottle.
He uncorked it and poured the glowing, fragrant liquid over his head and body. It was Tier 3 Clear Spring Spirit Water, a precious liquid normally used by artifact master to cleanse High Grade Spiritual Artifacts or Young Ladies bathe in to refine their skin.
As the spiritual water washed away the dust and blood, leaving him completely spotless and fragrant, If any other sect disciple saw this wastage of using Tier 3 Spirit Water just to take a casual shower, they would definitely cough up three liters of blood and curse him for this tyrannical abuse of materials.
After cleansing himself, Yu Liang walked over to the stone pillars where the unconscious Cloudwater disciples were tied.
He took out a fragrant, purple pill, a Tier 4 Soul Awakening Pill. Without using anything, he simply placed the pill between his thumb and index finger. With a slight exertion of his strength, the pill was effortlessly grounded into a fine, glowing powder by his bare hands.
He blew it gently, using his Qi to scatter the medicinal powder over all the captives.
The potent medicinal effect instantly took place. The captives coughed, their eyelids fluttered as they slowly regained consciousness.
When they opened their eyes, the first thing they saw was a mountain of mangled corpses and a destroyed cave. Then, their eyes fell on Yu Liang. He was standing there, completely spotless and smelling of spring flowers, holding a bloody sword in his hand, the contrast was just too much.
Ling Tao was the first to process the situation. He remembered the emergency signal and looked at the dead Mo Feng and the slaughtered Passion Sect disciples. He instantly understood what had happened.
He struggled to stand on his feet, walked up to Yu Liang and suddenly dropped to one knee, cupped his hands tightly, his voice trembling with deep emotion.
"Senior Brother Yu! Thank you for saving our lives! From today on, just say the word, and we will be at your call whenever needed. Even if it means going through a sea of fire or a mountain of knives, we will not hesitate!"
The others also quickly realized what was happening. They had been saved from being drained dry by the demonic cultivators. Overcome with gratitude and awe, they all rushed forward and knelt on one knee.
"Thank you, Senior Brother Yu!"
"We are at your command, Senior Brother!"
The sound of their voices was deafening, echoing powerfully throughout the massive underground cave.
The weight of what Yu Liang had just accomplished slowly sank in.
They all understood the rules of the cultivation world. Even fighting a Peak Stage Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator alone was something most disciples could only dream of and even the so called Top 10 geniuses of the Outer Sect would have struggled to accomplish it.
Yet Yu Liang had done far more than that.
He had fought through hundreds of cultivators of the same realm and slaughtered them one after another, relying on nothing but his own strength.
The thought alone left them shaken.
At that moment, their gratitude toward Yu Liang was no longer something that could be expressed with a few words. After knowing this they had truly begun to see him as someone worth following.
Their gratitude toward Yu Liang was genuine, especially after he had saved their lives. But they were cultivators, not ordinary mortals who would blindly devote themselves simply because someone had helped them once.
They could see the potential in front of them.
What Yu Liang had accomplished today was something that could not remain a secret for long. Once word spread that an Outer Sect disciple had single handedly slaughtered hundreds of cultivators while even defeating a Peak Stage Foundation Establishment Realm expert, his name would inevitably shake the surrounding forces.
Perhaps Yu Liang was still an ordinary disciple today, but none of them believed he would remain one for long.
If they chose to stand beside him now, there was little to lose now and perhaps much to gain in the future.
"Stand up, everyone," Yu Liang said gently. "Check your injuries first."
But for the disciples it carried an undeniable authority, the disciples stood up and checked themselves, after which the cave was filled with grim sighs and pained hisses.
The injuries they had sustained were incredibly severe. Some disciples had their meridians severely damaged from the forced extraction of their Pure Essence.
Others looked visibly aged, their once black hair had turned completely white and their skin was wrinkled like old people, having lost decades of vitality and blood essence to the demonic women. A few who had inhaled the pink mist were continuously coughing up black, foul smelling blood while some has their dantians feeling as cold as ice.
It was a tragic sight, a stark reminder of the cruelty of the Passion Sect.
