Immortal Ascension Through Marriage: Investing in My Wife Get Returns
Chapter 342 - 341: Sha Wujue’s Fury (2)
Sha Wujue’s expression twisted.
"Lin Yuan."
He repeated the name slowly, as though engraving it into his soul.
The surrounding spatial laws trembled.
"Lin Yuan!"
His roar shattered the remaining formations within the chamber, sending fragments of silver energy scattering across the floor. The pressure spread outward once more, forcing the Demon Kings gathered outside the palace to kneel, while the distant mountains cracked beneath the weight of his fury.
"I will find you," Sha Wujue vowed. "I will tear apart your cultivation foundation, destroy your lineage, and make you regret the day you were born."
His crimson eyes blazed.
"And when I have finished with you, I will level the Nine Provinces until not even the ruins of your world remain."
The declaration spread through the palace, carried by the spatial formations that still remained intact. Every demon who heard it understood that their clan head had entered a state of fury unlike anything they had witnessed before, and none of them dared to question the scale of the retaliation he had promised.
Sha Wujue had lost three children.
He intended to make an entire world pay for their deaths.
Yet before he could issue another command, something changed.
The pressure in the chamber shifted.
At first, Sha Wujue assumed that the spatial turbulence surrounding his body had reached a new level, but the sensation was different from anything he had produced himself. His own aura, which had been spreading through the ancestral territory without resistance, suddenly encountered an immense force that seemed to descend from a place far beyond the visible heavens.
The force did not strike him.
It simply arrived.
And the moment it appeared, Sha Wujue’s aura was suppressed.
The spatial storm surrounding the palace collapsed inward, and the silver runes covering the walls dimmed as though an invisible hand had extinguished their light. The pressure that had forced countless Demon Kings to kneel became insignificant compared with the immense presence now descending upon the region, and even Sha Wujue felt his body grow heavier beneath its weight.
His expression changed.
For the first time since the deaths of his children, the fury in his eyes was replaced by genuine alarm.
"What is this?"
He immediately circulated his cultivation, attempting to resist the pressure, but his demonic energy seemed to slow as it passed through his meridians. The spatial laws surrounding his body no longer responded with their usual precision, and the throne behind him cracked under the weight of the force that had descended upon the ancestral stronghold.
A second later, the pressure spread beyond the palace.
It swept across the plateau, crossed the surrounding mountains, and continued through the Hollow Beyond with such overwhelming authority that entire demonic cities fell silent. Countless Demon Kings raised their heads toward the sky, while ancient beasts buried beneath the earth began to tremble, sensing a presence that had remained dormant for an age beyond their comprehension.
The Demon Realm was vast.
It contained countless territories ruled by powerful Demon Lords, each of whom possessed enough strength to destroy entire regions through a single act of violence. Yet the pressure spreading across the realm did not resemble the aura of an ordinary Demon Lord, because it carried a depth and authority that seemed to transcend the boundaries of the current era.
Sha Wujue slowly turned toward the eastern horizon.
The direction held no significance within the ordinary geography of the Hollow Beyond, but the pressure seemed to originate from somewhere beyond the visible spatial layers, from a place where the ancient laws of the Demon Realm had remained undisturbed for countless years.
His face became pale.
He recognized that presence.
Not because he had encountered its owner personally, but because the name associated with that aura had been preserved in the oldest records of the Demon Realm.
The legends described a being whose might had influenced two separate eras, an existence whose battles had changed the balance of power among the Demon Lords and whose name was spoken with reverence even by those who considered themselves the strongest creatures alive.
That being was Gu Cangming, the Eternal Calamity Demon Lord.
Unlike ordinary Demon Lords, Gu Cangming’s reputation did not rest solely upon the territories he controlled or the number of enemies he had defeated. His name had survived the transition between two great eras of the Demon Realm, and the ancient records claimed that his power had once forced entire generations of Demon Lords to reconsider the limits of their own cultivation.
Some said that he had been born before the previous era ended.
Others claimed that he had entered a state of profound seclusion after fighting an existence whose name had been erased from the oldest records.
A few ancient texts even suggested that Gu Cangming had once stood at the threshold of the Demon Emperor realm, only to abandon the final breakthrough for reasons that no surviving record could explain.
Whatever the truth, one fact remained undisputed.
Gu Cangming was not an ordinary Demon Lord.
His might was spoken of in two eras, and even the oldest surviving Demon Lords treated his name with caution.
Sha Wujue had never expected to feel that terrifying presence descend upon his ancestral territory, particularly at a moment when his own aura had spread across the region in anger. Yet the immense pressure had arrived without warning, suppressing his cultivation so thoroughly that he could barely maintain the spatial barriers surrounding his body.
He immediately lowered his head.
"Senior Gu Cangming."
The words escaped his mouth before he could stop them.
His voice was no longer filled with the fury that had shaken the palace only moments earlier. Instead, it carried a degree of restraint that would have astonished the Demon Kings gathered outside the chamber, because Sha Wujue was not a man who willingly bowed before another being.
But the pressure made resistance meaningless.
A Demon Lord could dominate countless weaker demons, yet the difference between Sha Wujue and Gu Cangming was not simply a difference in cultivation. It was a difference in the depth of their foundations, in the authority they possessed over the laws of the Demon Realm, and perhaps even in the eras that had shaped their understanding of the Great Dao!
