Chapter 393: Chapter 390: Building Blocks and Stones

The Lego Bird flapped its wings, hovering in the air. It didn’t press its advantage and give chase as the head had demanded.

"What are you spacing out for?" the head asked anxiously. "Hurry up and destroy them!"

The Lego Bird looked at the stiffened stones, now completely shrouded in black smoke, and asked in confusion, "They can’t threaten us anymore. Why do we have to wipe them out completely?"

"Who knows what other tricks these stones have up their sleeves? Are you so sure they’re no threat to us at all? This is no time for mercy!" The head was furious, relentlessly questioning the Lego Bird.

"You do it." It directly handed control of the body over to the head.

"Indecisive! So indecisive!"

Cursing, the head took over the body. The Lego Bird’s form shuddered, its blocks began to reassemble, and it finally transformed into a huge, grotesque Human-headed Bat.

The gaunt human head directly replaced the bat’s original head, and the bat’s limbs transformed into long, slender arms, creating an extremely bizarre sight.

The Human-headed Bat flew directly toward the stiffened stones, still cursing.

Upon reaching the edge of the stones, its blocks shifted again, and a claw-shaped relic was moved to the surface of its form.

Then, the Human-headed Bat grabbed its left arm with its right and, with a forceful tug, ripped it clean off.

Blocks scattered as the entire left arm was torn away at the socket, dangling for a moment.

"Severed Limb."

The detached arm instantly began to rot. A layer of mold crept over the surface of the blocks, and then, with a SIZZLE AND POP, bubbles erupted from them.

The entire arm seemed to have been doused in some kind of corrosive liquid, emitting thick, dark yellow smoke.

Soon, the blocks on the arm began to fall off piece by piece, turning to dust and smoke under the intense corrosion.

At the same time, bubbles also began to appear on the stiffened stones shrouded in black smoke, and they too began to corrode.

Watching from within the Block, Mo Ling was in awe.

The relic used by the Lego Man had an extremely simple function, and its cost was just as easy to understand.

But simple didn’t mean ineffective. Before long, the stiffened stones were already pitted and scarred by the corrosion.

Beside the Divine Altar, the scene was rather peculiar:

A grotesque and bizarre Human-headed Bat was locked in a standoff with a pile of continuously corroding stones.

The Human-headed Bat stared intently at the stones, not daring to relax for an instant.

’Truth be told, Mo Ling didn’t quite understand why the head was so insistent on wiping out these stiffened stones. They didn’t seem to have any offensive power.’

’But not only was the head taking this extremely seriously, it had even resorted to using a relic to make sure the stones were dealt with completely.’

Just as Mo Ling was pondering this, the situation by the Divine Altar changed again.

For some unknown reason, the corrosion on the surface of the stiffened stones suddenly stopped. The shrouding black smoke was also dissipating, as if the relic’s effect was steadily weakening.

Seeing this, the Human-headed Bat instantly went on high alert.

Seizing the moment before the stones’ influence could reassert itself, it lunged toward the Divine Altar.

A bright red liquid snaked across the surface of its blocks. Immediately after, the blocks of the Human-headed Bat’s body began to crumble and fall away.

The small blocks fell onto the Divine Altar, quickly covering it like a layer of sand.

With fewer blocks making up its body, the Human-headed Bat grew listless, the frequency of its wing beats slowing noticeably.

"Bloodmelt."

The blocks that had fallen on the Divine Altar suddenly turned to liquid and seeped into it, smudging its surface with colorful, ink-like stains.

These stains spread, slowly bleeding into one another.

Then, as if infected, the entire Divine Altar began to melt.

Like a candle, the hard stone Divine Altar rapidly turned into a pool of lime-gray liquid. Losing its structure, it began to drip to the ground, bit by bit.

From the sky, gray raindrops began to fall. Before long, the pitter-patter of light rain became a downpour. Under the relic’s power, the entire Divine Altar collapsed to the ground, becoming a pile of sludge on the mirrored surface.

At this point, the aerial battlefield was a complete wreck.

The original Divine Altar had vanished without a trace, and the stiffened stones were riddled with holes.

The Human-headed Bat flapped its wings weakly, its listless state on full display.

It had fought itself to a standstill against an immobile enemy, its block body battered and broken from a fighting style that injured the enemy by a thousand at the cost of eight hundred to itself.

Its left arm was gone, blocks were missing from all over its body, and it could no longer even maintain its original form.

Yet it seemed unwilling to give up, continuing its charge toward the stiffened stones.

However, the Human-headed Bat’s movements suddenly froze, and its blocks began to reassemble.

"Didn’t you say you’d let me handle it?! Why are you taking back control?"

"If you keep fighting like this, all the blocks will be destroyed. Stop," the fatty inside pleaded.

"A fight isn’t over until the very last moment! How can we stop now?" the bat said stubbornly.

It raised its only intact right arm, pointing at the stiffened stones ahead.

"Look! The relic’s influence is still weakening. That means the divine sacrifice isn’t over. If we let it be completed, we have no idea what we’ll be facing next!"

"But..."

"Indecisive! So indecisive!" Seeing the fatty still hesitating, the bat started cursing again.

"I’m done! You let me out, but you don’t trust me. So why did you let me out in the first place? Here, take control back. You handle it."

The moment it finished speaking, the Human-headed Bat’s already damaged body instantly disintegrated and reassembled into a Lego Bird.

Due to the missing blocks, the Lego Bird’s body was also significantly smaller.

The fatty, who had just regained control, didn’t even have time to react before the stiffened stones’ influence descended upon it again, and the Lego Bird’s movements instantly petrified.

Although the head had said it was done, faced with this situation, it could only emerge again. "I told you, you have to be ruthless and wipe them out."

"When you barge into another race’s Divine Sacrifice Site, they’re not going to just let you go. What’s the point of talking about kindness and mercy at a time like this? If you don’t kill them, they’ll kill you. You don’t even understand a simple principle like that..."

"Forget it, I’m done talking. While you can still move, hurry up and destroy those stones. The god is already descending."

Hearing the head’s words, the Lego Bird panicked. "The god is descending? But they don’t have a divine object, and the Divine Altar is destroyed! Why is the god still descending?"

"Just think about it! These stones can’t move, so where would they get a Divine Altar and a divine object?" the head cursed, exasperated. "Use your brain! The Divine Altar and the divine object... are the stones themselves!"

The head’s words were a sudden awakening; the Lego Bird instantly understood everything.

It finally steeled its resolve, ready to destroy the damaged, stiffened stones.

However, in the time it had spent hesitating, the petrification of its body had become irreversible.

The stiffened stones remained motionless, floating in the air, having done nothing at all. But the tables had already turned.

A faint smell of lime suddenly permeated the air.

At some point, even the air itself had been petrified, turning into solidified particles of dust.

The entire sky suddenly turned a hazy gray.

’It’s over. The god is here.’
