I'm Trapped in the Block
Chapter 338 - 335: Li Luo’s Prophecy
Chapter 338: Chapter 335: Li Luo’s Prophecy
That person was, of course, Li Luo. The prophet had seen everything she had experienced since arriving on Hell Island and had also become aware of a new possibility.
However, it seemed there were many problems with her prophecy.
The prophetic visions were incomplete.
"There are many gaps in your experiences. It’s like things have lost their continuity, as if a story suddenly jumps from one scene to another with no cause or effect..."
"In my prophecies, the Night Watcher suddenly vanished, and you easily escaped his pursuit. The watcher who was following you just... disappeared. Not even the Nest Builder could trap you. It’s as if an invisible force has been protecting you."
"Is this your power? The power of a Fire Thief?"
The prophet gazed at Li Luo in confusion.
"But... it seems you cannot escape your fate either..."
Her tone grew more desolate.
"Fate?"
"Yes, the fate of death. I saw you... die on Hell Island."
The prophet raised her hand, pointing a finger at Li Luo.
"You will be just like the Night Watcher, the watcher, and the Nest Builder. You’ll be devoured by that invisible force and vanish without a trace. It’s not banishment—it’s total annihilation. There’s absolutely no escaping it."
SLAM!
The prophet’s palm suddenly struck the main door. Her nails scraped hard against the surface, producing a sharp, grating noise.
The prophet’s tone grew even more desperate. "Nothing has changed! The prophecy will still come true! No matter how you fight against fate, you will always return to the correct path."
"I saw it..."
"All of Hell Island will be destroyed! No one can escape!"
"The Hell Beast will break through Paradise and descend upon the real world!"
"That force is helping it! That invisible force! You’re the one who brought it to Hell Island, Fire Thief! You brought the tinder that will destroy everything, the spark that will plunge all of humanity into divine punishment!"
"And you will pay the price you deserve! Just like Prometheus, you’ll be chained to a cliff, your organs devoured by a giant eagle for all eternity!"
The prophet continued to scratch at the glass door even more frantically, shouting these strange words at Li Luo.
"It’s right beside you! The source of that power is right beside you! Put out the tinder! Fire Thief, that fire will eventually burn you, too!"
Her other hand slammed against the door as well, and she clawed at it madly. The piercing, scraping sound made both Li Luo and Jin Lou take a few steps back.
Jin Lou also gave Li Luo a strange look. "Where’s the tinder?"
Li Luo shook her head and looked all around herself. There was nothing there except for Block.
"I don’t know. Do you believe her?"
"Not really. It’s a bit outrageous, just a bunch of mystical nonsense. And what the heck is a Hell Beast?" Jin Lou scratched his head and looked outside. "But she’s a prophet. Shouldn’t everything she says be true?"
"Prophecies are just lies. I used to believe in them when I was a kid."
Li Luo looked outside and shouted, "I don’t have any tinder!"
"Yes, you do!"
"Where?"
"Right beside you!"
"There’s nothing beside me!"
"There is! It’s burning bigger and bigger! It’s growing! Throw it away! Throw it far away!"
"..."
No matter how much Li Luo argued, the prophet refused to believe her. She only grew more agitated, her hands constantly scratching at the door as she muttered incessantly, telling Li Luo to throw the tinder far away.
Finally, after realizing her warnings were having no effect, the prophet lowered her hands and moved away from the door.
’She’s leaving?’ The two of them inside were very confused.
’She was screaming hysterically just a moment ago. Why would she suddenly leave?’
However, the black smoke inside the room hadn’t vanished; instead, it began to roil.
The prophet hadn’t gone far. She had moved to an open space not far from the door, where she raised her hands and began to chant something.
Immediately after, a cloud of black smoke gathered above her head. With its appearance, many figures suddenly materialized in the surrounding alleys.
These figures all seemed dazed, as if they had seen something they desperately desired. They shambled toward the Fire Thief Studio like zombies.
A thick layer of black smoke covered the eyelids of each figure, and a faint black thread connected them to the cloud above the prophet.
More and more figures appeared. Before long, even the Inheritor, who had previously moved away from the safe house, reappeared. His eyes were also covered in a layer of black smoke, and he too looked as if he had seen something he yearned for, charging toward the safe house’s main door.
"Exterminate the Hell Beast! Exterminate! Exterminate!"
As his massive body began to run, the very ground seemed to tremble. Books fell from his back as he moved, but he paid them no mind, charging straight for the safe house door.
His truck-like body slammed right into the door, shattering it to pieces. The Inheritor’s own body also began to slowly dissipate.
But he didn’t stop.
Even though half of his body was already gone, he used his other hand to draw his Walrus Tusk. The tusk suddenly grew, transforming into a terrifying greatsword.
The Inheritor unsteadily raised the greatsword and brought it crashing down on the safe house.
"Hell Beast! Leave my island!"
He roared as if he were truly protecting the island, focusing all of his body’s strength into this single strike.
The heavy greatsword left an ink-wash-like trail in the air. As the blade cut through the air, it let out a sharp hum.
It was clearly the hum of a sword, yet it sounded as if countless people were reciting the condemnations from the Inheritor’s books. Repetitive, piercing chants rippled out along with the ink-like slash.
The sharp sound waves rolled through the night and washed over the safe house, followed by a terrible tremor!
The Inheritor’s figure was instantly shattered by the recoil, but the rippling sonic sword energy didn’t stop, cleaving straight through the safe house’s roof!
It was like slicing an egg; the soft white was gently parted by a sharp blade.
"Get out of the way!"
Jin Lou lunged at Li Luo, pulling her to one side.
The invincible sonic sword energy fell in an instant, actually cleaving the Fire Thief Studio in two!
The dome-shaped building was split into two parts down the middle, the edges of the cut perfectly smooth.
It was merely soft sound waves, but when transformed into sword energy, it cut through metal as if it were mud.
The aftershock of the sword energy plunged deep into the ground, and the entire building trembled with the sonic vibrations.
Although the Inheritor had vanished, the sound of his chanting remained, echoing through the air along with the sword energy.
Though Jin Lou and Li Luo had dodged the terrifying sword energy in time, they were instantly enveloped by the sound.
A rush of blood surged through Li Luo, and a violent impulse rose in her heart.
"Xiaozhi! Bang the gong!"
Hearing her shout, Xiaozhi, which had been wrapped around Jin Lou, instantly flew up, crossed the fissure created by the greatsword, and flew to the other side.
This time, it didn’t attack Block, but instead understood Li Luo’s meaning perfectly.
Coiling around the bronze gong, Xiaozhi slammed it desperately against the ground. A cacophony of clanging instantly erupted, forcibly disrupting the sound of the sword energy’s aftershock.
"DONG DONG CLANG! DONG DONG CLANG!"
Xiaozhi perfectly replicated the rhythm Li Luo had used when banging the gong before, right down to the earth-shattering intensity.
"Don’t stop! Keep banging it!"
Li Luo shouted, covering her ears.
Xiaozhi did as she said, banging the gong with thunderous noise.
The Purple silk threads coiled around the gong, slamming it repeatedly against the ground to fight back against the still-echoing sonic chant.
As the noise grew more and more chaotic, the battle lust in Li Luo’s heart slowly subsided.
Li Luo didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until the aftershock of the sword energy finally faded away.
Her eardrums were ringing from the blast, but thankfully, everything had quieted down.
She shook her head, and the loud ringing in her ears began to fade slightly.
"Okay, you can stop now..." Li Luo said to Xiaozhi, who was still banging the gong.
Upon hearing the command to stop, Xiaozhi tossed the gong to the ground and turned to charge at Block.
