I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 336: Will Ulysses Die of Embarrassment?: It’s Just Social Death, It’s Fine. A Lifetime Is Short. It’ll Be Over Soon.
Today’s Ulysses was quite different from usual. At the very least, the old Ulysses would never have been able to say something like telling An Ruo to fuck him to death.
An Ruo knew that Ulysses cared a great deal about the image he presented in front of him, including the way he looked during intimacy in bed. Because of that, most of the time, he seemed excessively calm and rational, unable to completely let himself go.
This “unable to let himself go” did not mean Ulysses wouldn’t do anything extreme with him. On the contrary, he could play very hard while remaining rigorous and rational about it.
For example, those wolf tails.
Or, for example, taking the initiative and riding him.
Perhaps because Zerg society believed that Female Zergs were supposed to do everything possible to serve their Male Lords well, even when certain games challenged the limits of what a Zerg could accept, Ulysses would still try his best to do them, treating them like some kind of military assignment that had to be completed.
Even if this “military assignment” consisted of having his Male Lord fuck open his promotion hole.
But today’s Ulysses was different from before.
He had become uninhibited and wanton, as though he had thrown his personal image and every rule he usually followed straight out of his mind.
He said things he never would have said before and entwined himself around An Ruo with his pregnant body.
An Ruo could not break free.
He could not refuse.
His heart had already surrendered to Ulysses, so naturally his body could not hold out either.
Fortunately, he never forgot that Ulysses was carrying an egg. That allowed him to retain a sliver of rationality amid the chaos. He refused to completely follow Ulysses in fooling around and kept himself relatively restrained.
When they woke the next morning, Ulysses sat silently at the head of the bed for a very long time, propping up his head with one hand. His expression did not look particularly good.
Worried, An Ruo used the medical mode on his terminal to scan him from head to toe. Only after confirming that there was nothing wrong with his body did he finally relax.
Then, seeing Ulysses’s complicated expression and prolonged silence, An Ruo knew that he had remembered what happened last night.
He had remembered himself wildly demanding that An Ruo fuck him to death.
It was only social death. It was fine.
A lifetime was very short. It would be over soon.
Oh, wait.
High-level Zergs had very long lifespans, especially a Zerg of Ulysses’s level.
He would have to endure this social death for several hundred, perhaps even a thousand years.
An Ruo looked at Ulysses, whose carefully maintained image had completely collapsed, with pity.
In the end, he could not bear to let Ulysses remain depressed by himself. He comfortingly patted him on the shoulder and said, “Don’t worry. I didn’t hear anything yesterday.”
He had not heard Ulysses say he wanted to be fucked to death.
Nor had he heard that sexy, pleasant-sounding voice of his when he moaned*.
In An Ruo’s heart, Ulysses was still the invincible commander of the military, that cold, stern, composed, rational military Female Zerg big shot, the perfect Female Lord.
His image was still flawless.
As for last night?
That was An Ruo’s little secret alone.
Ulysses looked at the Male Zerg who had deliberately come to comfort him with a complicated gaze for a while. Although the comfort itself was not particularly effective, what the gesture represented still moved him.
It meant that An Ruo loved him.
Cared about him.
Valued him.
Ulysses gathered up his chaotic emotions and thoughts and temporarily threw everything from last night to the back of his mind. Turning his head toward the Male Zerg, he asked, “Are you getting up now? I’ll serve you while you dress and comb your hair.”
Although An Ruo was a homebody, he was not someone incapable of taking care of himself. He was much more accustomed to washing up, dressing, and managing his own personal hygiene. Having another Zerg take care of him instead would make him uncomfortable.
But between lovers, this kind of care could also be a way of expressing affection.
If Ulysses wanted to take care of him and be close to him, An Ruo usually would not refuse.
Besides, he had also noticed that Ulysses especially liked his hair.
During intimacy, when his hair fell loose and covered Ulysses’s face, it could make him high.
That was also why An Ruo had never seriously considered cutting his hair short.
Considering that Ulysses was currently carrying an egg, An Ruo thought about it seriously and said, “You can comb my hair. I’ll change my clothes myself.”
Actually, he wanted to help Ulysses get dressed too.
Pregnant Female Zergs should have difficulty moving around as well, right?
Ulysses’s military uniforms looked handsome, certainly, but they were also complicated to put on. An Ruo could help him.
Unfortunately, An Ruo was destined to be disappointed.
Even while carrying an egg, Ulysses moved briskly enough that he could probably head straight onto a battlefield and kill enemies.
If An Ruo tried to help, it would not be helping.
It would be getting in the way.
......
The Marshal was in a very good mood today.
Every military Female Zerg noticed it.
Actually, the Marshal had been in a fairly good mood starting three days ago. It was just that over the past few days, he had also seemed to carry some other trace of worry and concern......
But now, it was as though whatever had been troubling him had been completely resolved. His entire bearing had relaxed and softened, giving other Zergs the sensation of being bathed in a spring breeze.
Heavens.
Marshal Ulysses...... bathed in a spring breeze???
A crowd of military generals and senior government officials all suspected that something was wrong with their senses.
Marshal Ulysses possessed immense accumulated authority.
He was a terrifying Zerg.
As commander-in-chief, he stood in the hearts of every Zerg like a military banner. All Zergs respected him and trusted him. As long as he was there, they knew the greater situation had already been decided, and whatever battle they fought would inevitably end in victory.
But at the same time, every Zerg who stood before him would unconsciously summon twelve parts of vigilance, not daring to relax in the slightest.
There was a distinct hierarchy among Female Zergs. Lower-ranking Female Zergs felt tremendous pressure when facing higher-ranking ones, and the lower-ranked Zerg would instinctively obey the higher-ranked Female Zerg.
And the Marshal simply felt like the most terrifying one of all, the one who brought the greatest pressure.
Even when facing an old veteran S-rank General like Cyril, the pressure was nowhere near as great as when facing the Marshal.
Even when the Marshal deliberately restrained the energy fluctuations around his body, merely sitting there made him seem as immovable as a mountain, creating tremendous psychological pressure for other Zergs.
Female Zergs worshipped strength.
They admired him.
Trusted him.
And feared him.
So when Marshal Ulysses suddenly became as warm as a spring breeze, it only made their hearts pound even harder. They nervously speculated about whether some major event had occurred.
“Did something change in the situation with Tianjia? Something favorable to the Zerg race?” a young military Female Zerg guessed.
“Or maybe the long-range exploration fleet came back and brought important news or leads on resources,” an unmarried officer continued guessing.
The married officers listened to their discussion and gave them the sort of look that said, “You little brats are still too inexperienced.”
When a married Female Zerg’s mood changed dramatically, it usually had something to do with his Male Lord.
This was obviously a case of getting closer to his Male Lord and receiving more affection.
Thinking of that, even the officers who had been married for many years could not help feeling envious.
The Marshal and An-shen had only just gotten married. They were still in the period when everything was sweet as honey.
And the Marshal always carried the mysterious, rich fragrance of Male Zerg pheromones on him. Just smelling them could make a Zerg’s heart tremble, yet the Marshal’s own overwhelming presence and pheromonal suppression kept anyone from daring to entertain improper thoughts.
Over the past few days, the pheromone scent on the Marshal had become slightly weaker. Presumably, he had tried to seek favor from his Male Lord and failed, which was why his mood had been poor.
The officer was startled by the thought that had suddenly appeared in his own mind.
It was difficult to imagine what the Marshal would look like seeking favor.
Though if the target was An-shen, somehow it did not seem completely impossible.
It still felt slightly strange, though.
He always had the feeling that the Marshal and An-shen’s way of interacting should not resemble that of ordinary Female Zergs and Male Zergs.
Then what should it look like?
Probably......
Like the protagonists in An-shen’s novels.
The officer thought of the protagonists from An-shen’s books and the different ways they interacted with one another, then thought of himself. For a moment, his attention wandered.
The newly appointed Captain of the Personal Guard, Helios, emerged from the office.
His mismatched eyes swept across all the Zergs present before he walked over to the officer waiting to make his report and the Chief Justice from the Court of Judgment, telling them they could go in now.
The officer came back to his senses and thanked him. He straightened his military cap and adjusted the cuffs of his uniform before stepping into the Marshal’s office.
The Chief Justice seemed distracted. There was a trace of worry between his handsome brows, and he merely gave Helios a slight nod before walking past him.
Helios suddenly remembered that this Chief Justice was the very judge who had originally presided over the Marshal’s divorce case.
Back then, the video of him bringing down the gavel and sentencing the Male Zerg to 999 years in prison had gone wildly viral across StarNet.
It was only after that lord developed the group psychic method and then received a sentence reduction due to his outstanding contributions several months ago, allowing him to leave prison, that the video’s popularity gradually died down.
Even now, new Female Zergs who had only recently fallen into the fandom occasionally went back to commemorate it.
Thinking of that, Helios could not help feeling a bit of pity for the Chief Justice.
Other Zergs did not know the inside story, but Helios had personally accompanied the Marshal to the prison to pick up the Male Zerg when he was released, so he knew a few secrets.
For example, there was absolutely some special connection between An-shen, whom the Marshal had married, and Lord Annor, who had been sentenced to prison.
A connection close enough that they were suspected to be the same Zerg.
The reason it was only “suspected” rather than confirmed was because, based on the few times Helios had personally interacted with that lord, he was absolutely not a Zerg who would hurt a Female Zerg.
The Marshal’s attitude was even stranger.
He had nothing but love and importance for that lord, without the slightest hatred.
If that lord truly was the Zerg who had once harmed the Marshal, with the Marshal’s personality, there was no way he would treat him like this.
At the very least, he would not be completely without resentment.
Unless......
They simply were not the same Zerg.
But then how could that be?
And afterward, they had remarried under new identities.
That seemed to imply something too......
The entanglement involved was simply too complicated.
Helios discovered that his brain was not quite sufficient for this sort of thing, so he gave up thinking about something that required so much mental effort.
He could choose not to think about it.
But for the Chief Justice who had presided over the case himself, it was probably difficult to remain uninvolved.
Even if the Marshal was the sort of superior who kept public and private matters separate and would not casually take his anger out on another Zerg, the existence of such a matter was inevitably awkward.
Helios silently observed a moment of mourning for the Chief Justice in his heart.
He had heard that the Chief Justice’s home life was not peaceful either.
Apparently, his Male Lord no longer wanted to live with him and was already planning to divorce him.
That was......
Really miserable.
Other Zergs’ family affairs were ultimately their own business. Helios had only heard rumors and did not know the details. At most, he would sigh inwardly when he remembered it. He had no intention of investigating any further.
His own situation had not even been settled yet.
Previously, the Marshal had used hints to urge him to get married.
Now, however, the Marshal had suddenly changed his attitude and was no longer in a hurry at all.
He had even said something like, “Although the Male Zerg was arranged for you by that...... person, so he certainly won’t be bad, you’ve ultimately only just met. You know too little about the Male Zerg and don’t understand what his true nature is like. It would be better to observe him for a while longer. Even if you do plan to marry, there’s no need to rush it right now.”
What did he mean by “that person” arranging a Male Zerg for him?
Helios did not understand what the Marshal meant.
He had no idea who the vaguely mentioned “that person” was.
But he could tell that the Marshal was genuinely considering his interests, and he was very grateful for it.
Still, he and “Phoenix” had not only just met.
They had been online friends for many years.
They had simply only recently met face-to-face for the first time.
He trusted “Phoenix’s” character very much.
And......
He really wanted to sleep with him.
“Phoenix” had been relatively busy recently.
He had come to the Federation as a representative of Hidden Star, so there were many Zergs he needed to meet and many matters he had to deal with, all in preparation for Hidden Star’s eventual formal return to the Zerg Federation.
Helios himself had only just been promoted to Captain of the Personal Guard. He also had many duties to hand over and more Zergs to supervise than before, leaving him equally busy.
They could barely find time to see each other once every few days.
Even when they did meet, they would merely sit together and talk, exchange a little affection, and express their closeness and longing for each other.
They had not actually slept together yet.
“Phoenix” was a proper gentleman.
He refused to take advantage of Helios.
Even when showing affection, he would only hold Helios’s hand, kiss the corner of his mouth, or, at the most outrageous, give him a light farewell kiss that stopped almost as soon as it began.
After more than half a month of this, Helios had already been tempted until he was starving.
He had been dangled halfway up and left there, unable to obtain satisfaction.
At first, Helios had still been thinking that they were brothers, so how could they, how could they......
In short, he had been unable to adapt to changing from a brotherly relationship into one between lovers.
Now he did not want to think about anything at all.
He had thrown all thoughts of brotherhood to the back of his mind.
He only wanted to be intimate with his Male Zerg.
He wanted some real meat.
Even if it meant eating Male Zerg pheromones like Major General Iso, he would happily do it.
Or perhaps going on a hotel date with a Male Zerg like Major General Lucas of Silver Fortress......
He wondered whether “Phoenix” had “Zerg markings” like his younger brother.
They should be fake markings, right?
After all, he had already differentiated into a Male Zerg.
Helios was extremely curious about how a Male Zerg who had differentiated like “Phoenix” differed from his former Female Zerg body.
He wanted to investigate it deeply.
To get all the way to the bottom of it.
Simply put, he was very curious about his body.
He craved his body.
Just as Helios was thinking this, he received a message from “Phoenix.”
[Are you free tonight? I’ll come pick you up. I’m almost finished with everything I needed to do, and I happened to get two tickets to Shamir’s farm. Let’s go on a date. Using a date with a Male Zerg as the reason should be enough to get leave approved, right?]
The Head of Hidden Star, who was experiencing romance for the first time, was also trying to keep up with current trends. He had specifically searched for the most popular ways to go on dates these days and bought two farm-experience tickets.
Of course Helios had no reason to refuse.
Though as far as he was concerned, even if “Phoenix” simply held him in his arms inside a flying vehicle and they spent the entire day dating like that, Helios would have been willing.
But Male Zergs liked romance, pretty scenery, and atmosphere, after all.
He could understand that.
A farm was fine.
The wilderness would work too.
