I Write Novels in a Zerg Prison
Chapter 267: Female Disguised as Male x Despairing Straight Female (21): In His Hazy Memories, He Had a Military Female Lover, and They Had Even Reached the Point
[Wait? Things are moving this fast? Weren't we talking about cooking? I was taking notes. How did we suddenly get to marriage?]
[It's not that fast. Like Lord Aira said, with Felix's personality, he probably decided what to name their hatchlings the moment he first saw Lucas.]
[The facts prove that Felix thought even further ahead. He's already decided how they should be buried together.]
[Oh, I see! I understand now! As long as I cook for a male Zerg lord, he'll marry me and be buried together with me!]
[That's not right. Didn't Claire's story say it doesn't matter whether you can cook or not? (pulls out notes) (confused and distressed)]
[Idiot! Every male Zerg requires a different strategy. You have to know how to adapt! Would you use the exact same tactics against different opponents on the battlefield? How did you even graduate with military theory this bad?]
[When you put it that way, I understand!]
[Doesn't any Zerg think there's something wrong with comparing a male Zerg lord to an enemy soldier or opponent?]
[There's nothing wrong with it. (shy) A male Zerg lord is a very good opponent. I want to battle His Lordship for three hundred rounds.]
[Don't let yourself explode from pleasure.]
[I still don't understand how this suddenly got to marriage. According to the usual process, shouldn't the Major General first present his personal assets as part of his proposal, swear his loyalty, then do this and that and this, discuss the division of marital property, and only get married once everything has been confirmed?]
[Obviously, Felix doesn't care about any of that. In his eyes, none of those procedures are as important as a meal Major General Lucas personally cooked for him.
Of course, all of this is built upon the relationship they've already developed. Zergs with absolutely no emotional foundation, don't act impulsively. If you scare the male Zerg, the detention center will end up with a whole batch of Zergs waiting to be bailed out.]
[You should've said that earlier! (bawling) I just brought food to my adorable male Zerg neighbor. First he thought I was going to break down his door and rob him, then he thought I'd poisoned the food. Now I'm being taken to the police station to give a statement. I don't think I'll be able to explain myself (wipes tears).]
[Uh... All I can do is mourn for you.]
[Wild guess: you're a retired military female. You're a huge, burly guy knocking on his door. How could a male Zerg not be scared? Even when you smile at the video doorbell, you probably look vicious and terrifying enough to scare the male Zerg's soul right out of his body. You managed to become neighbors with an adorable male Zerg and still failed to establish a good relationship with him. You're beyond saving. You're this stupid, so let's just bury you. (pats down dirt) (packs it firmly)]
[(bawling) I didn't mean to! Is it my fault I look scary? I need An-shen to write a novel teaching me how to pursue my neighbor. (mighty female wipes tears)]
[An-shen said he doesn't accept requests for custom novels. But at the rate he's writing one book every month or two, maybe we'll really get something like that eventually? If you live long enough, you can see anything.]
[If there's one thing the Zerg race doesn't lack, it's time and longevity. I'll compete with An-shen to see who lives longer! (laughs)]
[Mm, what lofty ambitions. An-shen is suspected to be S-rank, so a conservative estimate gives him a lifespan of seven or eight hundred years. Good luck.]
[QAQ]
Returning to the main subject, the netizens still thought Lucas was getting far too much of a good thing, and their feelings about it were complicated.
They were delighted that he and Felix could be together without having to walk the difficult road everyone had imagined for them, yet at the same time, they desperately wanted to throw a sack over Lucas's head and beat him up to vent their frustration.
[Putting a sack over his head won't work. First, you can't beat him. Second, attacking an active-duty military Zerg has very serious consequences.]
[Then is there anything else we can do?]
[The most practical option is probably to go to Lucas's wedding and make him drink. Female Zergs have strong resistance, so alcohol normally doesn't affect them much, but if they drink enough, they still get drunk. Pour it into him until he's completely wasted and can't make it through his wedding night. That's the most satisfying revenge.]
[Then the question becomes: how do we transmigrate into the book so we can attend Lucas's wedding?]
[Don't worry about that. When Lucas gets married, he'll invite the military females from Silver Fortress. Those military females will definitely have exactly the same idea, and they won't let him off either. They might not be able to beat him in a fight, but with that many Zergs, surely they can outdrink him?]
......
[<What Happened Later>
The Seventh Military Region now had an exceptionally outstanding military male of its own.
Whether in appearance, military achievements, or rank, Felix was outstanding enough to be proudly shown off.
In that respect, the Seventh Military Region was no worse off than the Ninth Military Region, which had previously stolen all the limelight.
General Enzo decided to have Felix film a recruitment advertisement that would be released during next spring's recruitment season.
Before then, however, he had no intention of announcing anything to the outside world.
Enzo himself was naturally low-key, and he also understood that secrecy was essential to success. Before everything was completely settled, there was no reason to publicize it widely and give those shameless bastards from the other Military Regions a chance to poach Felix.
For now, knowledge of the matter was limited to Silver Fortress. Military Regions were strictly managed in the first place, and internal affairs rarely leaked outside, so General Enzo wasn't concerned.
During this period, Felix and Lucas decided to hold their wedding.
It wasn't going to be some enormous, extravagant ceremony. They would simply invite familiar comrades and superior officers to gather together for a meal and publicly announce that they were together.
Several senior officers from the Seventh Military Region, including General Enzo, received invitations, though naturally most of the guests would be Zergs from Silver Fortress.
Felix had booked the hotel long ago. It was on Amber Star, where they'd had their first date.
Lucas accepted his proposal without the slightest hesitation. There weren't any complications along the way.
Felix was even somewhat surprised. He'd thought Lucas might hesitate for a while or raise some conditions or questions, but when he met Lucas's eyes, he understood what Lucas was thinking.
The feeling was probably something like...
"It could only ever be him."
They could only belong to each other. There was no other possibility.
They were destined to be together—or perhaps they were already together, and marriage was merely a formality that would happen sooner or later.
Before the wedding, they registered their marriage first.
Seeing Lucas's name appear in the Female Lord field filled Felix with satisfaction.
As for all those other things that other Zergs cared about, Felix didn't consider them particularly important. Property distribution or anything else—it didn't matter. They were together, both in their work and in their lives.
Every guest arrived one after another. The only regret was that none of Felix's family could attend the wedding. His elder brother had only sent gifts.
There were two matching sets, one for Felix and one for Lucas.
Inside were all sorts of magnificent gems and jewelry, along with several objects passed down through the family, representing the family's recognition of their marriage.
Felix and Lucas put on matching blood-red gemstone rings. Their color was vivid enough to drip, while the settings were intricate and ancient in style.
Lucas had once been extremely curious about Felix's family.
It was difficult not to be curious about a family possessing such a unique genetic trait as "differentiation."
But once Felix told him about his family, Lucas automatically put that curiosity away.
A male Zerg of the direct bloodline of the former Imperial Family and an officer of the Federation...
That combination was simply too shocking.
It was difficult to imagine two Zergs with such completely different identities coming together, much less holding a wedding.
But as a military female and military male, they had submitted an official application for their marriage to the military. Everything had gone through the proper procedures, and their superiors had already granted approval. Whatever remained was no longer something they needed to worry about.
Compared with being the young lord of the Phoenix Bird Family, Felix's more formal identity now was that of an officer of the Federation.
Their union was protected by Federal law.
What Lucas needed to worry about instead was...
How exactly was he supposed to survive these bastards who looked determined to drink him to death?
Faced with a crowd of military females who had brought their own alcohol and were practically itching to get started, Lucas gritted his teeth inwardly, so irritated that he almost laughed.
Was this all they were capable of?
The moment he'd sent out the wedding invitations, he'd known this ordeal was coming. Those single female Zergs in the military were practically red-eyed with jealousy. There was no way they'd let him off.
Lucas wasn't afraid of them.
He had married Felix.
That fact alone was enough to let him smile through any storm.
As for the alcohol, Lucas trusted the physical constitution of a high-ranking military female like himself.
"Major General, stop standing around. Everyone's been waiting for you forever. Come drink."
Colonel Serfa, who had traveled a long way to attend the wedding, smiled as he threw an arm around Lucas's shoulders and dragged him into a crowd of military females carrying bottles of every shape and size, all filled with high-proof alcohol.
"Drink!"
"Major General, have mine first! I specially prepared this good stuff for you!"
"Holy shit! This reeks! Is that industrial alcohol or something? Why are you going so hard on the Major General?"
"Don't slander a Zerg without evidence! I bought this from another star system. It's especially intoxicat—no, especially delicious. Come on, bottoms up!"
Felix had gone to entertain the other guests. Lucas had told him that he wanted to spend some time drinking with his comrades, so Felix hadn't thought much of it and had simply let him go.
By the time Felix received word that the left banquet hall was full of Zergs who had drunk themselves under the table, it was already midnight.
He hurried over and found Lucas sitting in the middle of the crowd, slowly swirling a bottle in one hand. His face was faintly flushed, but his posture remained composed, and there was a slightly arrogant smile on his face.
Military females lay collapsed all around him.
Lucas looked utterly disdainful. He casually kicked one of the Zergs lying unconscious on the floor and said,
"Get up. Weren't you going to get me drunk? Come on, keep going."
After waiting for a while without getting any response, Lucas clicked his tongue.
"Not one of you can drink."
Then he tilted his head back and drained the bottle in one go.
Seeing that Lucas appeared fine, Felix sighed in relief. At the same time, he found Lucas's unusually uninhibited manner fascinating. It was a rare sight.
Felix really hadn't seen much of how Lucas behaved privately with other military females.
For a moment, he actually found himself somewhat jealous of the comrades who knew Lucas so well.
Felix spoke to the hotel staff and had them arrange for Zergs to carry the drunken military females away to rest and settle them in properly.
There was no need to worry about anything else. It was only alcohol, and with the physical constitution of military females, they could get drunk, sleep it off, and wake up as lively as ever.
Felix himself walked over to Lucas, took the bottle from his hand, told him to stop drinking, and tried to support him back to their room to rest.
Lucas turned his head, his gaze following the confiscated bottle until it landed on Felix. His brows knitted together, and he was just about to get angry when he saw Felix clearly.
He froze.
His eyes went hazy for a moment.
He stood up following Felix's movements, stumbled for a split second, then quickly steadied himself.
Felix had been watching him closely, so naturally, he caught that tiny abnormality.
Only then did he realize that Lucas was drunk too.
Perhaps very drunk.
It was simply that Lucas behaved differently from other Zergs when intoxicated. He neither caused a drunken scene nor passed out. Sitting there, he still had all the imposing presence of a Major General. His speech was fluent and natural, and there was nothing unusual in his expression.
He looked exactly like a perfectly sober Zerg.
He was extremely good at fooling others.
Faced with a drunken Lucas, Felix's heart softened even further. He supported him more carefully and tried to take him upstairs to rest.
Lucas, however, moved his arm and pulled free.
"No need to support me. I can walk by myself."
He didn't just say it. He did exactly that.
He brushed Felix's supporting hand away and walked ahead on his own. His steps still appeared steady, but compared with his usual gait, the slight unsteadiness was noticeable.
Drunk Lucas was extremely stubborn. He refused to let Felix support him no matter what, so Felix could only stay beside him and keep watch over him.
Lucas strode ahead, while from the corner of his eye, he secretly observed the beautiful "military female" walking beside him.
In his hazy, indistinct memories, he had somehow acquired a military female lover, and they had even reached the point of...
Marriage?
Lucas's muddled brain simply couldn't figure out how those two things were supposed to connect.
Had the Federation's marriage laws evolved that far already?
Or was this merely a private wedding, and they hadn't actually registered their marriage?
Of course they hadn't registered it.
How could a female Zerg and another female Zerg register a marriage?
Lucas sorted through his thoughts and successfully convinced himself.
But he still couldn't understand how he had suddenly become someone involved in a female-female relationship.
Sure, this red-haired military female was extremely beautiful and perfectly matched Lucas's tastes. His smile was dazzlingly gorgeous, he smelled wonderful, and even the helpless way he raised his eyes to look at Lucas made Lucas's heart itch...
But Lucas was a straight female!
Major General Lucas, who had been a straight female for decades, suddenly felt that perhaps his straightness wasn't quite as pure as he'd always believed.
Then he finally registered their current situation.
This "military female" had been following him the entire time and was even showing him the way.
It looked like he intended to enter the room with Lucas.
Lucas was an adult Zerg, after all. Even while drunk, he knew roughly what was likely to happen next.
Certain things between adults.
Lucas became even more conflicted.
He genuinely had no experience with this kind of thing.
How exactly did two female Zergs do it again?
His "female Zerg" partner was very beautiful, but Lucas felt he still needed to mentally prepare himself before he could make sure his partner was satisfied.
Speaking of which...
Had they done it before?
Lucas's brain stalled again.
