Chapter 266: Female Disguised as Male x Despairing Straight Female (20): When Should We Set the Wedding Date? How Many Eggs Should We Have? What Should We Name The

[Ever since personally confirming Felix's sex, Lucas had had something weighing on his mind.

Afterward, Felix changed his clothes and sprawled lazily across the couch to rest, as though every bone in his body had gone soft. He didn't look the least bit like a "military female."

But Lucas liked him, so no matter what he looked like, Lucas found him adorable.

Oh. And now he really wasn't a military female.

Having found yet another excuse for him in his heart, Lucas naturally felt even less that there was anything wrong with how Felix looked right now.

But there were other questions still troubling Lucas. When Felix looked over at him, Lucas asked,

"When we first met, were you a male Zerg or a female Zerg?"

That question genuinely stumped Felix. He sat up cross-legged, thought for a moment, then said,

"Actually, I wasn't really a male Zerg or a female Zerg. Back then, I didn't have any obvious sexual inclination, so I could suppress my Psychic Power and disguise myself perfectly well as a female Zerg. I could pass the military physical examinations, and I didn't have to worry about being affected by pheromones either."

As Felix spoke, he lifted his chin slightly toward Lucas and smiled, looking a little proud of himself, as though asking for praise.

"It was during the days after I met you that I slowly differentiated into a male Zerg."

Especially that night when Major General Lucas invited him to bathe in the hot spring. Felix had tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep, his lower body feeling as though it had caught fire. When he finally managed to fall asleep, even his dreams were filled with the Major General smiling in the hot spring, the golden-red insect markings rising and falling with his muscles, making Felix want to bury himself against them.

When he got up the next morning, he could clearly tell that he'd grown.

He had already been impressively endowed before, but this was something Felix had never experienced.

He had even spent a while worrying about what he would do if he couldn't fit it into his military trousers.

Fortunately, he later discovered that using his fingers while thinking about Lucas, as well as taking a bath, could make it go down somewhat.

Felix hadn't differentiated before and had always considered himself a female Zerg. As a result, he'd missed out on the normal physiological awakening guidance male Zergs received and had spent quite some time completely flustered and at a loss.

During those days, he'd felt terribly aggrieved and desperately wanted to find Lucas and cuddle up against him.

But Lucas had instead begun deliberately or inadvertently distancing himself from him.

Felix had been both confused and hurt.

Fortunately, later, on Parasite Planet, the Major General began spending time with him again. They shared a tent and the same sleeping bag, pressed intimately against each other through many nights, and the Major General even agreed to let Felix pursue him.

Felix was a Zerg with an excellent mentality. When Lucas distanced himself, he was sad. When Lucas treated him well again, he immediately became happy. He didn't hold grudges at all, nor would he remain trapped in past sadness.

Now he could even use the fact that he'd differentiated for Lucas to curry favor with him and ask for praise.

Lucas, on the other hand, had no idea how he was supposed to react.

He had never experienced anything like this. He couldn't even imagine it.

One Zerg had differentiated into a male Zerg for the sake of another.

And Lucas himself happened to be one of the Zergs directly involved.

"I..." Countless emotions churned inside Lucas's chest. He wanted to speak, but didn't know where to begin.

His hesitant, faltering expression puzzled Felix. Then, thinking of something, an absurd suspicion gradually arose in his heart.

Known fact: Lucas had gotten together with him without knowing that he had already become a male Zerg.

Actually, even Felix himself hadn't realized it at the time. His awareness of sex was weak, and he'd never received specialized instruction in this area, so he'd been confused himself.

Even now, Felix still didn't have a particularly clear sense of himself as a male Zerg.

How he perceived himself wasn't important. His body had already differentiated into that of a male Zerg anyway.

The truly important question was: did Lucas actually like male Zergs or female Zergs?

Felix suddenly became terrified. Lucas had said he liked male Zergs, but now he looked so hesitant and troubled. He hadn't just been saying that to appease him, had he?

Felix had already become a male Zerg. There was no going back!

Felix was much more straightforward. Whatever came to mind, he simply asked outright:

"Don't tell me you actually like female Zergs?!"

The moment he said this, Lucas's expression became even more complicated and indescribable.

He really had fallen for Felix while believing Felix was a female Zerg. Otherwise, he never would have gotten together with him, much less gone on dates with him, booked a hotel room with him, and had sex with him.

But seeing the utterly horrified expression on Felix's face, Lucas immediately realized that they weren't thinking about the same thing at all.

He leaned forward and embraced Felix, soothing him as he said,

"It's you I like. Whether you're a female Zerg or a male Zerg, I like you."

Logically speaking, now that Felix was a male Zerg, Lucas ought to use respectful forms of address with him.

But Lucas still wasn't used to it and couldn't make himself change the way he spoke.

Besides, they were in the military, and Lucas was his superior officer. It should be fine, right?

Mm...

He was a superior officer, yet he was hugging his subordinate while on military grounds.

Lucas's body stiffened. He suddenly felt that this was extremely inappropriate.

He was about to pull away when Felix grabbed him.

Lucas looked down and saw Felix gazing at him with shining eyes.

"Say it again," Felix said with an expectant smile.

He was dazzlingly beautiful.

There weren't even any pheromones, yet Lucas could almost smell that intoxicating sweetness again.

Lucas could barely remember what he'd just said. Piecing it together, he stiffly repeated,

"It's you... I like. Female Zerg or male Zerg... as long as it's you, I'll like you."

"Even if you were a female Zerg, I'd still be willing to be with you."

Lucas had always wanted to tell him this, but he'd never gotten the chance.

Fortunately, they still had that chance now.

Felix blinked rapidly.

This was a confession he had never expected.

Lucas had completely accepted him, both the female Zerg he had been and the male Zerg he was now.

Even if Felix had failed to differentiate into a male Zerg, Lucas still would have liked him.

Just like back then, when Lucas believed he was a female Zerg yet was still willing to be intimate with him and give him the chance to pursue him.

Emotions surged through Felix's chest. His gaze settled on Lucas's lips, and as though drawn toward them, he leaned closer, just about to kiss him—

Then he suddenly remembered something and abruptly raised his eyes to Lucas.

He felt...

There was still one thing he absolutely needed to emphasize.

Felix said seriously,

"Even though you also like me as a female Zerg, you—you can't do that kind of thing to me!"

He needed to protect his rear.

He was merely a reconnaissance soldier who enjoyed charging straight into the enemy's rear base. He had absolutely no desire for his own great rear base to suffer the same fate.

Felix shed streams of noodle-like tears in his heart. There were three things a male Zerg needed to protect throughout his life: his female Zerg, his rear, and his magnificent face.

Lucas had originally been looking forward to Felix's kiss. After hearing this, it took him several beats to realize what Felix meant.

His face instantly flushed bright red, and he was so embarrassed that he didn't know where to look.

Back then, he'd never imagined Felix might be a male Zerg. Even after experiencing Felix's size and stamina, he'd merely thought Felix was exceptionally gifted. The possibility of Felix being a male Zerg had never crossed his mind. He had been so powerful and lasted so long—it fit perfectly with the characteristics of a female Zerg whose front wasn't particularly sensitive.

At the time, Lucas had only thought that he also needed to take care of his same-sex partner and couldn't always make Felix service him.

He was truly unfamiliar with that sort of thing. He had even spent quite some time mentally preparing himself for it. He'd only been willing to do it because it was Felix.

And yet...

Felix was a male Zerg.

That meant Lucas had become a pervert who had designs on a male Zerg's rear.

Lucas had never been this embarrassed in his entire life.

Even hundreds of years later, remembering this incident would still embarrass him enough to dig out a three-story basement with his bare hands.

"I don't have those kinds of thoughts..." Faced with Felix's accusing gaze, Lucas explained, "Fine, I did before, but that was because I thought you were a female Zerg. I won't anymore..."

Felix successfully defended his base and bit Lucas on the shoulder to vent his frustration.

......

News concerning male Zergs always spread extraordinarily quickly.

Although General Enzo hadn't issued any official announcement saying that Colonel Felix was a male Zerg, within just a few days, every Zerg in Silver Fortress had heard about it.

Of course, most of them were only half convinced.

The 707 Unit under Felix's own command, in particular, didn't believe it at all. They thought the female Zergs outside their unit had gone insane from longing for male Zergs and had actually started setting their sights on their Colonel.

Felix keenly noticed that more Zergs had been approaching him to strike up conversations lately.

Actually, it didn't require keen senses. Even a blind Zerg could have noticed.

All he had to do was sit down for a meal with Major General Lucas, and every seat around them would instantly fill with Zergs.

Still thinking like a female Zerg, Felix nearly assumed these Zergs had come to compete with him for the Major General's attention.

They wanted to steal his favor.

He was secretly getting angry when he realized their target seemed to be...

him?

"?"

Felix was bewildered.

Hadn't these Zergs disliked him not long ago because he was new and far too beautiful?

As an actual female Zerg, Lucas noticed what was happening much sooner. He swept his gaze across the surrounding Zergs, then naturally picked up some of the little fruits Felix liked from his own tray and placed them on Felix's.

Felix didn't like the star-beast meat served in the military cafeteria.

Lucas had a small kitchen in his officer's villa, so every day, he cooked a few dishes himself for Felix.

Felix had visibly become more energetic and healthier under Lucas's care lately.

The military females nearby watched their interactions with tears streaming down their hearts.

They had previously thought Felix was constantly provoking the Major General.

But looking at it now, it was obvious that the Major General had made his move ages ago and had already gotten the suspected male Zerg Colonel Felix into his bowl!

And here they'd initially been indignant on the Major General's behalf because he was being provoked. Who would have thought the Major General had already been laying his plans so early and was operating on an entirely higher level?

The Major General truly was worthy of being the Major General. He was always one step ahead of every other Zerg, with greater foresight than all of them.

Competing with the Major General for a Zerg was going to be incredibly difficult.

But they weren't giving up!

Competition over male Zergs was always fierce, especially when the male Zerg in question was exceptionally outstanding. It was like thousands upon thousands of soldiers trying to cross a single-plank bridge. The female Zergs had long since mentally prepared themselves for this and adapted perfectly well.

They watched Lucas and Felix interact with sour expressions while secretly studying them, analyzing and summarizing whatever techniques they might be able to use themselves, their ears pricked up to eavesdrop on the conversation.

Felix happily ate the little fruits the Major General had given him, along with the meat Lucas had prepared to better suit a male Zerg's tastes, then asked,

"Major General, did you learn all this in those Male Zerg Family Cooking classes they offered at school? It's so delicious. You're really good at cooking!"

"Mm." Lucas acknowledged it without thinking there was anything special about it. He had always been the best at everything he did.

Back then, he'd learned these things simply because he'd treated the class like another assignment. He hadn't thought much about it. He hadn't had any particular ideas about his future or about male Zergs.

Only now, seeing how happily Felix ate his cooking, did Lucas finally feel that everything he'd learned had been worthwhile.

Resting his chin in his hand, Felix spoke half in complaint and half as though sharing an amusing memory.

"I was terrible when I took that class. The best you could say about the taste was that it was edible. If I threw something together during a wilderness mission, at least nobody would starve to death. The teacher was so disappointed. He said that with cooking skills like mine, I'd definitely never win a male Zerg's heart."

Felix started laughing at his own words.

Given his current circumstances, he really didn't need to win a male Zerg's heart.

Of course, he'd left out the second half of what the teacher had said.

The teacher's next sentence had been: with looks like his, even if he burned down the entire kitchen every time he cooked, hordes of male Zergs would still fight to marry him.

After all, it had been a military academy. Although courses like that were traditionally offered, the teachers didn't actually care much about how well their students learned.

Those who wanted to learn naturally studied seriously. Those who were hopeless at it would still be allowed to pass if the teacher turned a blind eye. It wasn't going to affect anything important anyway.

Every military female in the cafeteria had their ears pricked up as they listened to Felix talk about his past. Even the sounds of eating had nearly disappeared.

The military females silently took notes in their hearts.

To pursue Felix, you needed to know how to cook.

And you needed to cook well.

Then they secretly criticized that teacher's terrible judgment. Lord Felix was a male Zerg himself. Why would he need to win another male Zerg's heart?

Lucas thought the same thing, except what he said was,

"I can cook for you from now on."

Felix stared blankly at him.

The tips of his ears slowly turned red.

Cooking for him...

That meant Lucas wanted to get married, right?

Otherwise, what female Zerg would casually promise to cook for a male Zerg for the rest of their lives?

And so Felix answered,

"Sure."

Then when would be a good time to set the wedding date?

Would next week be too rushed?

Maybe the end of the month would be more appropriate? But that was so far away. Counting down the days until then would be unbearable.

And which military friends and superior officers should they invite to the wedding?

Felix hadn't been at Silver Fortress for very long, but Lucas had been here for ages, so they should probably make sure to invite every Zerg he was close to.

And then, how many eggs should they have?

What should they name them?

How should they explain Felix's differentiation to the hatchlings?

What schools should they attend?

Where should they go for their wedding anniversaries?

...And where should they choose their burial site after they died?

A space burial seemed more romantic.

Eternally drifting together among the stars.
