I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 138: Bronze Level White Bear and the Ferren Family Noble Banquet
Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Bronze Level White Bear and the Ferren Family Noble Banquet
The carriage stopped at a new manor with a small villa. This was Vili’s new residence.
Baron Enton’s former manor had been the scene of a bloody battle, and the bloodstains on the ground had yet to completely fade. For that reason, Vili had no intention of making it his home. In fact, he planned to tear down the entire manor and rebuild it when he had the time; after all, funds weren’t an issue for him now.
Although Baron Enton had given his personal collection to Baron Kels in exchange for protecting his family, Blue Whale Town’s public treasury still held a considerable amount of Gold Rums. As a prosperous coastal town, Blue Whale Town was far wealthier than Diamond Town.
Moreover, killing Casli and Yavira had not only earned him his newly bestowed domain but also the huge bounties that had been posted for them.
The bounty on Yavira’s head was thirty-five thousand Gold Rums, and the bounty on Casli’s was forty thousand.
Seventy-five thousand Gold Rums was a considerable sum.
"Sir, Madam, the Lord Baron is already waiting for you."
After the carriages came to a halt, Dane dismounted, walked to the carriage door, and spoke to those inside.
Vili himself was already waiting by the carriage.
Hearing themselves addressed as "Sir" and "Madam," Lake and Mrs. Shaven felt a sudden, indescribable delight.
The curtain was pulled aside, and the Ferren family, along with a few villagers who had been brought along, stepped out of the carriage.
"Father, Mother..."
Vili helped Lake and Mrs. Shaven down from the carriage.
Lake looked at the splendidly dressed Vili and opened his mouth, but in the end, he couldn’t find the words. He simply gave Vili’s shoulder a gentle pat.
Mrs. Shaven’s eyes grew moist. She stroked Vili’s face with a calloused hand. "My good boy..."
She, too, seemed unsure of what words could possibly express her praise. ℯℯ𝑙.
Vili smiled gently. "Our older brother should be arriving in Blue Whale Town tomorrow. Our whole family will be reunited soon."
’Ever since Sopps joined the Guard Team and I joined the Personal Guard Team, our family has hardly had any time together.’
"Vili!"
Vilia, still standing in the carriage doorway, cried out. Vili hadn’t even greeted her yet.
"Vilia..."
Vili smiled and opened his arms.
Seeing this, Vilia grinned, leaped from the carriage, and latched onto Vili like a koala.
Her arms wrapped tightly around Vili’s neck, and her voice was as clear as a silver bell.
Wally jumped down from the carriage after her, watching Vilia with an envious expression. ’If only Vili were hugging me instead,’ he thought.
"Village Chief... no, Lord Baron."
Old Yor approached, a few other villagers in tow.
They were all thrilled. The fact that Vili, now a Baron, had brought them to Blue Whale Town showed how much he valued them.
"Old Yor, thank you for all your hard work while I was away from Fandou Village."
Vili expressed his gratitude to Old Yor.
Indeed, Old Yor had done a great deal. If not for him, Fandou Village wouldn’t have developed so smoothly. He had been instrumental in its growth.
Although Fandou Village was no longer Vili’s main focus, it was where he had gotten his start, and he planned to invest a great deal of effort into developing it in the future.
"I’ve summoned Yadon this time to entrust him with a mission. As for you, I wanted you to come and experience life here. If you grow accustomed to it, you can bring Yadon’s parents and sister to join you. If not, when you return to Fandou Village, I will appoint you as its new Village Chief."
’This was something Vili had planned for a while.’
"Lord Baron... I..."
Hearing Vili’s words, Old Yor’s lips trembled, and his voice grew choked with emotion.
’He was just an ordinary farmer, yet here he was, being held in such high regard by the Baron Lord.’
’Baron Vili was not only going to place great responsibility on his grandson, but he was even looking out for an old man like him.’
"Alright, let’s go eat. I’ve had dinner prepared for you all."
Vili glanced at the others with a smile and announced to the group.
"It’s a nobleman’s banquet!"
Colson finally found an opportunity to speak.
Vili glanced at him and wisely chose not to reply. ’Still,’ he thought, ’I have to take Colson seriously. The Silent is an Extraordinary Profession as powerful as the Hanged Man.’
"So dinner at home is a nobleman’s banquet now..."
Vilia pouted, her previous excitement seemingly gone.
As Vili started to walk, Wally bounded in front of him, tongue lolling and eyes crinkled in what looked like a smile. It was always like this. The moment Wally saw Vili, Vilia was forgotten.
Vili gave Wally’s backside a gentle nudge with his foot, a smile playing on his lips.
’From the moment I saw him,’ Vili thought, ’I knew Wally was no longer the same white bear. To be precise, he’s a Bronze Level white bear now!’
’During the two months I was away, Wally achieved his own evolutionary breakthrough!’
’The new Blue Whale Town is just getting started, and it already has two sources of Advanced Combat Power at the Knight Level.’
With Vili as host, the Ferren family, Old Yor, and the other villagers enjoyed a banquet filled with laughter and cheer.
Throughout the banquet, the Ferren family was all smiles. Colson had his mouth so stuffed with food that, for once, he wasn’t chattering endlessly. Alek, the little adult, even cracked an unintentional smile. Old Yor, despite his missing teeth, gnawed heartily on a chicken leg.
Only Wally looked pitiful. Mrs. Shaven absolutely refused to let him at the table, so he could only huddle over a basin of raw meat nearby, eating with an aggrieved air.
Everyone was laughing; only Wally was a party of one pitiful bear.
The banquet lasted for over two hours before everyone dispersed. It was late, and weary from their long journey, they were all ready for sleep.
Everyone retired to their assigned rooms to rest. Only Vili and Wally headed out of the manor.
Wally was thrilled. ’Vili is finally all mine,’ he thought.
"Tonight, I’m going to see for myself just how powerful a Bronze Level Mutated Magical Beast really is."
Vili said to Wally as they walked, "Don’t let me down."
Wally bounded along and nodded, looking eager to prove himself. He understood Vili’s words perfectly.
Vili chose not to take any Guards, heading out alone with Wally.
Just as they passed through the manor gate, Vili suddenly spotted a hunched figure leaning against the wall at the corner.
"Jarvis?"
Despite the dim light, Vili recognized him at once.
Hearing the sound, Jarvis looked over toward Vili.
He had completely lost the dashing air he once had.
His face was covered in stubble, his hair was a mess, and his clothes were disheveled—the very picture of an unkempt man.
Compared to the man he had been, the Jarvis of today carried a heavy aura of world-weariness.
