I Transmigrated as a Peasant, but My System Wanna Make Me a Duke!
Chapter 131: Power of Justice
Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Power of Justice
Before Vili even had a chance to look at his Title Attribute Panel, he felt an Extraordinary Power, distinct from his Knight’s Power, suddenly emerge from his heart.
It was gentle and warm, emitting a faint golden light.
Then, the power surged from his heart and throughout his body. Vili was suddenly overcome with the feeling that he could face any evil head-on.
But his will remained clear; his thoughts were not swayed by this power. He just felt that the new power he had mastered seemed capable of unleashing even greater strength against enemies with evil in their hearts.
Soon, the changes within Vili’s body subsided, replaced by two different Extraordinary Powers circulating smoothly within him.
This made Vili sigh in relief. He had been worried the two Extraordinary Powers would reject each other, but now it seemed he had been overthinking it.
’An Ability granted by the Title Attribute Panel would naturally be flawless.’
Only then did Vili turn his attention back to the Title Attribute Panel interface before him.
’A reward of 3 attribute points...’
’This reward is exactly the same as the one I got for advancing to Junior Knight. It seems that a One-Engraving Hanged Man is equivalent in power to a Junior Knight.’
’So "One-Engraving" must be a classification Level for the Hanged Man.’
’And my Power of Justice won’t fluctuate based on my personal understanding of Justice itself.’
Vili was very pleased by this.
According to what Olay had once told him, a typical Hanged Man had to be constantly filled with a sense of justice, adhering to their Heart of Justice, for their Ability to grow stronger. Once their Heart of Justice disappeared, their Power of Justice would vanish completely. At that point, an Extraordinary Hanged Man would be reduced to an ordinary person.
This was something Vili couldn’t accept.
He wasn’t the type of person to cling to a single belief and never change. His philosophy textbooks from his past life had taught him to analyze each situation on its own merits; rigid, unchanging views would ultimately fail.
Therefore, the fact that the Ability from the Title Attribute Panel was fixed was good news for Vili.
To Vili, the Power of Justice was no longer a conviction, but an Extraordinary tool, much like his Fighting Spirit.
’Wait...’
Vili continued reading and suddenly noticed his Constitution.
It had increased from 4 to 5.
’Was that an automatic increase?’
Vili checked his remaining attribute points. Including the latest reward, he had exactly 8. This meant that the single point increase to his Constitution had been an automatic boost that came with becoming a One-Engraving Hanged Man.
Nothing like this had ever happened when he advanced his Fighting Spirit.
’Is it because the Power of Justice relies heavily on physical strength?’
Vili could indeed feel that the Power of Justice was more dependent on his physical body.
’In that case, if the Power of Justice is linked to physical attributes, then I’ll have to focus on Constitution when I assign points in the future...’
Vili, who had just been thinking 8 attribute points were more than enough, suddenly felt that they might not be sufficient after all.
After a moment of thought, he began to assign 3 attribute points to Constitution.
Sure enough, once he had finished assigning the 3 attribute points, Vili felt his Power of Justice grow stronger.
’Just as I thought! The Power of Justice and Constitution are directly correlated!’
Vili was ecstatic.
’This trip out to sea has been a massive success!’
’Insisting on coming to Blue Whale Town was a wise decision.’
Vili calmed his excitement and scanned his surroundings again. There was still no one in sight.
Dabbit could never have imagined that his impulsive decision to drive away the other Pirates to preserve his dignity would lead to his own silent death.
’So, what now...?’
A calculating look appeared in Vili’s eyes.
Before, he had no confidence he would survive an attempt to kill Casli and Yavira, but things were different now.
’With the Power of Justice, I seem to have a natural advantage over these vicious Pirates. And as a Middle Knight who is among the strongest of my rank, if I combine my Power of Justice with my Fighting Spirit Power, I should have more than enough strength to protect myself.’
’If worst comes to worst, I can just dump the remaining 5 attribute points into Constitution. That will be more than enough to escape if I run into danger.’
Vili made up his mind. It wasn’t every day you came across big bosses like these.
With that, Vili pushed Dabbit’s corpse into the sea. Although he lamented the loss of the bounty on Dabbit’s head, he gave it up to prevent any patrolling Pirates from passing by, noticing something was wrong, and sounding an alarm.
After cleaning the blood from the sand, Vili hurried off in the direction Casli and Yavira had taken.
’This is the place...’
Relying on his skills, Vili evaded all the patrolling Pirates along the way.
He was now in front of a large stone house, hiding in a patch of tall grass.
Outside the stone house stood only two ordinary guards.
It seemed neither Yavira nor Casli wanted anyone approaching this place.
Vili considered for a moment, then saw his chance. He took out both guards in an instant without making a sound, not even using his Extraordinary Power.
He hid their bodies in a concealed corner and walked into the stone house.
His Hunter Ability allowed him to move with exceptionally light footsteps, and he paid close attention to every minute detail.
"Hm?"
Vili peered through a partition door and saw that the large stone house was empty.
Only a single stone wall stood wide open, revealing a secret passage leading underground.
’Are they in there...?’
After a moment’s thought, Vili began to approach the secret passage.
Just as he reached a bend in the passage, Vili suddenly heard a sound from within.
...
"This is where you keep your treasure?"
Looking at the small, enclosed space around them, Casli instinctively felt that something was off.
But besides himself, there was only Yavira and that ordinary, low-level chieftain in the room. No one there could possibly pose a threat to him.
His power was nearly on par with Dabbit’s; they were both among the top tier of Middle Knights. Yavira was no match for him at all.
"It’s behind this stone wall."
Yavira pointed to a mottled section of the wall.
"Then hurry up and open it."
Casli didn’t want to waste any time.
This place made him feel very uncomfortable.
Yavira nodded, walked over to a bookshelf on the other side, and fiddled with something on it.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE...
The stone wall began to slide open slowly.
This made Casli relax slightly.
He instinctively took a step forward, eagerly waiting to see the treasure Yavira had brought.
This was a century’s worth of a Baron Family’s collection!
’Even if I pulled off a huge score, I wouldn’t get this much money.’
However, just as the stone door slid fully open, a figure shot out from within, tightly gripping a poisoned Dark Blue Dagger, and lunged fiercely at Casli!
Casli was instantly horrified.
