Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Title: One-Engraving Hanged Man

"This flag..."

As the fleet drew closer, Vili suddenly noticed the flags flying on the ships.

A blood-stained, broken shell, and a green tree with branches and leaves twisted into a grimace...

’Have the Green Tree Pirate Gang and the Shell Pirate Gang merged?’

Vili’s heart skipped a beat.

If these two major Pirate Gangs had merged, it meant the coastal towns near Dawei Province would face an immense threat.

’I have to bring this news to Baron Enton when I get back.’

Vili thought to himself.

By now, the fleet had begun to dock in an orderly fashion. The Pirates on the island seemed unaware of the fleet’s impending arrival, as a man who looked to be a minor leader hurriedly took a few of his subordinates to greet them.

’Is that Casli of the Green Tree Pirate Gang and Yavira of the Shell Pirate Gang?’

Vili saw people disembarking. From the crowd, he suddenly recognized the two leaders of the major Pirate Gangs.

It wasn’t that he was exceptionally worldly, but that the pair were simply too famous. They had extremely high bounties on their heads in Dawei Province, and Baron Enton had shown him their portraits right after he arrived in Blue Whale Town. It was no surprise, then, that he recognized them at a glance.

Even though he recognized them, Vili had no intention of trying to kill them by force.

First of all, both Yavira and Casli were rumored to be Middle Knights, and they had other Middle Knight experts under their command. Although he was invincible against those of the same rank, facing three to five Middle Knights, nearly ten Junior Knights, and countless other Pirates, he would most likely die full of regret right then and there.

"The treasure is hidden in a stone chamber beneath the island. Let’s go together."

Yavira said to Casli as soon as she disembarked.

Casli instinctively furrowed his brow but nodded anyway.

’I’m already planning to get rid of Yavira in the future, so for now, it’s best not to arouse her suspicions.’

"Dabbit, you’re in charge of standing guard here."

Casli commanded. He had wanted to call a few of his subordinates to go with him, but seeing that Yavira hadn’t brought along a single Knight Level combatant from the original Shell Pirate Gang, he decided against it.

’That would make me look too guarded.’

Led by the minor Pirate Leader, Casli and Yavira headed toward the island’s center.

"Heh..."

Casli didn’t notice that the moment he turned around, Dabbit and Yavira imperceptibly exchanged a look.

Once the pair was in the distance, Dabbit began to wander about aimlessly, as if waiting for something.

When he reached the tree where Vili was hiding, he suddenly stopped.

Looking at the patrolling guards nearby, Dabbit snapped, "All of you, get lost! I’m standing guard right here. You think someone’s going to sneak onto this island?"

Having been chewed out, the nearby guards quickly left.

Dabbit spat. After looking around and seeing no one, he unfastened his trousers and began to relieve himself.

Vili remained motionless in the tree, taking in Dabbit’s every move.

He now understood why Dabbit had sent the others away to "take care of business"—the man’s ’equipment’ was a real disappointment compared to his burly physique.

It was about the size of half an earthworm.

Vili was glad Dabbit had some sense of decorum; he hadn’t just urinated into the sea. Otherwise, the thought of having to swim through that area later made Vili feel sick.

After relieving himself, Dabbit didn’t move on. Instead, he lingered under the tree.

He faced the sea, his entire back exposed to Vili.

An idea sparked in Vili’s mind.

’I definitely can’t wipe out all the Pirates on this island tonight, but taking this guy’s head seems like a pretty good alternative.’

This guy must be Dabbit; Vili had seen his face on a bounty poster before.

A cold, murderous glint flashed in Vili’s eyes.

"It should be about time..."

Dabbit suddenly muttered to himself, completely unaware of the impending danger.

The instant he turned, he saw a dark shadow leaping down from the tree before him.

In that instant, Dabbit’s blood ran cold.

’There’s someone in the tree in front of me?!’

’And I didn’t sense his presence at all! That can only mean one thing... this person is just like me, a Middle Knight at the very least!’

Dabbit instinctively tried to dodge, but it was useless. Vili was too fast.

The moment he landed, Vili lunged forward, his hand a blade chopping at Dabbit’s throat.

Had the blow landed, Dabbit would have died instantly.

But Dabbit was a battle-hardened veteran, and his combat instincts kicked in. He managed to twist away just enough for Vili’s hand-blade to graze past him.

But before he could even feel a moment of relief, he saw Vili’s form shift again. The hand-blade became a clawed grip, hooking back to attack.

Vili’s combat skills were granted by the Title Attribute Panel; Dabbit was simply no match for him.

CRACK!

Even though Dabbit struggled to dodge, his throat was still half-crushed.

Blood instantly overflowed from the corners of his mouth. This vicious killer, who had slaughtered so many, felt fear for the very first time.

He wanted to scream for help, but Vili had already destroyed his vocal cords, leaving him able to produce only a faint, rasping sound.

At the same time, the vibration from his throat sent blood flowing back into his sinuses. He coughed violently, aggravating his injuries, and fresh blood sprayed from his mouth and nose.

THUD!

Vili seized the opportunity and attacked again. This time, he did not miss.

An Iron Sword appeared instantly in Vili’s hand, and he stabbed it straight into Dabbit’s already mangled throat.

’How could... ’

This was Dabbit’s final thought.

He, who had always reveled in killing, had never imagined his own life would be taken from him so helplessly, without even a chance to fight back.

THUD.

Dabbit’s corpse collapsed to the ground, his blood staining the sand of the beach.

"Haaa..." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Vili took a deep breath. Just as he was about to cut off Dabbit’s head, the Title Attribute Panel interface suddenly appeared before his eyes.

"Slain an enemy brimming with evil. Title acquired: [One-Engraving Hanged Man]. Reward: 3 attribute points."

"Upon acquiring the [One-Engraving Hanged Man] title, you will master the Extraordinary Power of Justice. This power will make the hearts of chaotic villains grow cold with fear! You will also master all usage and combat techniques for the Basic Level of Justice Power. [Note]: The Power of Justice granted by the Title Attribute Panel will not diminish based on the host’s changing views on justice itself."

[Vili Ferren — Constitution: 5, Intelligence: 7.5; Attribute Points: 8]

’One-Engraving Hanged Man?!’

Vili never imagined that a momentary flash of killing intent would actually earn him a brand-new Extraordinary title!
