Chapter 244: Chapter 230: Zhang Tianwen Takes Action

"Wind Spirit Crocodile, Wind-Split Eagle, stop playing around. End this battle."

Chen Xiangyu’s two beasts were both Wind Attribute and had reached the Foundation Establishment Fourth Layer. Their coordinated attacks were astonishingly powerful.

Chen Xiangyu’s strength was considered well above average within the Spirit Dragon Sect, so it was only natural that he would completely crush Wang Wen Hao.

As Chen Xiangyu finished speaking, the Wind Spirit Crocodile roared and the Wind-Split Eagle shrieked. A violent gale swept forth, yet it was so well-controlled that it perfectly covered the stage as it surged toward Wang Wen Hao.

The color drained from Wang Wen Hao’s face. He commanded his beast to resist with all its might, but how could it possibly withstand a full-force attack from two beasts holding nothing back?

In just an instant, Wang Wen Hao was sent flying backward like a kite with a snapped string, a spray of blood scattering in mid-air.

"Is that it? How dull." Chen Xiangyu shook his head and gave a slight sneer.

Just as Wang Wen Hao was about to hit the ground, Mo Pengchen waved his hand. A surge of Soft Force caught Wang Wen Hao’s body, guiding him to a steady landing.

Wang Wen Hao staggered, his face pale. With an expression of bitter shame, he glanced at the smug Chen Xiangyu on the stage before turning to Mo Pengchen, cupping his fists, and bowing his head.

"I have lost, Peak Master. I failed to live up to your expectations."

"As long as you’re alright," Mo Pengchen said, shaking his head. His expression was calm, as if he didn’t mind at all.

Meanwhile, the disciples from Beast Taming Peak all looked on with resentment, gritting their teeth as they glared at Chen Xiangyu.

In contrast, the members of the Spirit Dragon Sect were jubilant.

"That’s Senior Brother Chen Xiangyu for you! It took him less than three minutes to wipe the floor with that kid."

"Those Wanxiang Sect disciples are nothing special, huh? Knocked out in three minutes right at the start. How boring."

Hearing this, the arrogant look on Chen Xiangyu’s face intensified, and the contemptuous sneer on his lips widened.

In any case, the atmosphere of the competition between the two sects was now fully ignited.

Watching Chen Xiangyu’s arrogant display, a cold glint flashed across Zhang Tianwen’s otherwise placid face.

The competition continued. With the exception of the first match, the rest were held two at a time, so the fifteen duels were completed in short order.

The Spirit Dragon Sect won ten matches, and the Wanxiang Sect won five. The disparity was clear at a glance.

Instantly, the Spirit Dragon Sect’s arrogance soared. But even within the Wanxiang Sect, voices of doubt rose against the Beast Taming Peak disciples, and their morale plummeted.

Taunts from the Spirit Dragon Sect and doubts from their own fellow disciples washed over the contestants from Beast Taming Peak. One by one, their eyes darkened, and they clenched their fists.

"Is this all the Wanxiang Sect’s Beast Taming Lineage amounts to? Does their entire Inner Sect not have a single decent fighter? It’s hilarious! Fifteen matches, and we won twice as many!"

"So boring. With such pathetic strength, they dare to dream of calling themselves the number one Beast Tamers on the Martial Continent? Where do they get the nerve?"

"I bet the final top eight will be all our own from the Spirit Dragon Sect. How boring would that be? HAHAHA!"

Mocking laughter erupted from the Spirit Dragon Sect contingent. Chen Xiangyu’s was the loudest of all. Even when the Beast Taming Peak disciples glared at him, he just gave them a provocative wink, his expression impossibly smug.

Meanwhile, the disciples from the Wanxiang Sect’s other peaks were equally unimpressed.

"Beast Taming Peak’s overall strength has really declined in recent years, but I never expected they’d get pushed around this badly by the Spirit Dragon Sect."

"What a fucking disgrace. Is this really Beast Taming Peak, once the most prominent lineage in our Wanxiang Sect? How did things get like this? Is no one going to put those guys in their place?"

...

According to the schedule, there were a total of sixteen matches on the first day. And now, it was time for the last one.

"Match sixteen: Zhang Tianwen versus Guo Dongming!"

As the names for the day’s final match were announced, the noisy arena—especially the section with Beast Taming Peak—suddenly fell silent. All eyes turned toward the front, landing on the perfectly calm Zhang Tianwen.

The Spirit Dragon Sect disciples didn’t all recognize Zhang Tianwen, as he hadn’t made a public appearance in a long time. But among the Beast Taming Peak disciples, most had at least heard of this former genius.

"Senior Brother Zhang is finally making an appearance after all these years. His injuries must have healed, right?"

one disciple ventured, his tone speculative.

"They must be. The Peak Master wouldn’t have sent him otherwise. We don’t know how well he’s recovered over the years, but I’m sure that with Senior Brother Zhang’s strength, defeating that Spirit Dragon Sect disciple will be a piece of cake."

Another disciple nodded, his eyes filled with eager anticipation as he watched Zhang Tianwen with a fervent gaze.

"Senior Brother Zhang is a legend! He managed to escape from a Core Formation Great Power and even kill them in return! Even if his injuries have been severe and he hasn’t shown his face for years..."

"Even if he’s only partially recovered, he’s still more than that bunch of minnows from the Spirit Dragon Sect can handle! Senior Brother Zhang needs to slap them down hard and teach them a lesson for their arrogance!"

Among the disciples were some who knew Zhang Tianwen well, and they spoke with absolute confidence.

After all, the Zhang Tianwen of the past had been dazzlingly brilliant. The fact that he, with his Foundation Establishment cultivation, could kill a Core Formation expert in retaliation was proof enough of his extraordinary talent. It was precisely because a Core Formation expert had attacked him that Zhang Tianwen had fallen into his current state...

The buzz of discussion reached Zhang Tianwen’s ears, but his expression remained impassive. He strode onto the stage and faced the Spirit Dragon Sect disciple, Guo Dongming. He casually raised his middle finger, then held up three fingers.
