"The hospital?" Ethan Kingsley’s brow furrowed slightly as he glanced back at the silent Seth Payne. "Find out what they were doing there."

"Yes, sir." Seth Payne immediately took out his phone and made a call.

A few minutes later, Seth Payne reported back, "Young Master Kingsley, Miss Sinclair took the Third Miss Tanner for a routine check-up."

"The results."

"Overall healthy, just a little malnourished."

A hint of doubt flashed in Ethan Kingsley’s eyes. "Why would Claire Sinclair suddenly think to take Little Cutie for a check-up?"

Seth Payne reported what he knew. "Miss Linden planned to make a move against the Third Miss Tanner at Mrs. Linden’s birthday banquet. Claire Sinclair suddenly appeared and used the excuse that the Astoria Daily was doing a charity feature on her to forcibly take her away. She claimed they had a doctor’s appointment. As she left, she even declared that she’d made an enemy of the Linden Family. So, going to the hospital was likely just the logical follow-through on her excuse."

"A charity feature? Heh... Interesting." A roguish smirk played on Ethan Kingsley’s lips.

’Only Claire Sinclair could cook up such a flimsy yet forceful excuse.’

’Oh well. Getting Little Cutie a check-up isn’t a bad thing, anyway.’

"We’re done here. Let’s go back." Ethan Kingsley stood up and walked toward the door.

Seth Payne hurried ahead to open the door for him.

Just as he was stepping out, Ethan Kingsley suddenly stopped and looked back toward the stairwell.

Confused, Seth Payne asked, "Young Master Kingsley, is something wrong?"

"Next time Corinne Linden tries to take Little Cutie away, let me know." With that, Ethan Kingsley strode out.

Seth Payne followed behind him and couldn’t help but ask, "Young Master Kingsley, I don’t understand. Why are we keeping the Third Miss Tanner around?"

’Why?’

Ethan Kingsley hadn’t really considered the question before. He answered offhandedly, "Claire Sinclair wants her alive, so she stays alive. Don’t ask me such meaningless questions again."

"Yes, sir!" Seth Payne acknowledged, not daring to say another word.

However, that answer didn’t convince him.

’Keeping the Third Miss Tanner around will inevitably affect Young Master Kingsley’s plans. And with his personality, he should have gotten rid of her long ago, but he’s kept her around all this time.’

"Adrian, I have something very important I need your help with."

"Mm, go ahead." Adrian Quincy loosened his collar, a hint of exhaustion on his face.

Claire looked at his face with concern. Although she hated to bother him, she spoke up anyway. "Can you find a suitable man for Ivy Tanner, someone who will marry her? She’s pregnant, and the child is Ethan Kingsley’s."

Adrian Quincy’s cold eyes narrowed, and a daunting chill seemed to radiate from him. "Ethan Kingsley doesn’t know?"

"He doesn’t know. Ivy Tanner doesn’t plan on telling him. She only came to me for help."

Adrian Quincy was silent for a moment before saying in a deep voice, "As his rival, it isn’t appropriate for me to intervene in such a private matter."

"So you’re saying you can’t help?" Claire understood his implication, and a hint of disappointment appeared in her eyes.

Adrian Quincy said, "I can’t help, but I know who can."

"Who??" Claire asked immediately.

Adrian Quincy said, "You."

Claire was baffled. "I came to you for help precisely because I don’t know how to help."

Adrian Quincy lowered his gaze to meet hers. "Theo Rhodes has an uncle named Lucas Rhodes. He’s twenty-nine. When he was twenty, he was in a car accident that resulted in the amputation of both his legs, and he’s been in a wheelchair ever since. He is a man of high principles, cultured, and has an excellent character. If you can convince him, then you’ll be able to help her."
