I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 101: So Loki Is Deliberately Hiding It
Chapter 101: Chapter 101: So Loki Is Deliberately Hiding It
In the center of the spacious plaza, a crowd had gathered.
At the center of their attention stood a male whose face had turned a deep, furious purple. Loki gnashed his teeth in anger but forced himself to endure it.
"Ophelia, what do you mean by that?"
"It means exactly what it sounds like—I never intended to invite you. You don’t deserve to attend my bonfire party, let alone step foot into the territory of the Fuzu Tribe," Ophelia replied coldly. "Take your prey and your people, and get out of my tribe right now."
Rebuked so harshly, Loki could no longer suppress the blazing fury in his chest. Pointing a trembling finger at Ophelia, he shouted, "Ophelia, no matter what happened, we were once mates! Do you really have to make things so ugly?"
"If you don’t leave now, don’t blame me for getting physical," Tyler said, stepping forward with a piercing glare.
The males of the Fuzu Tribe were also itching for a fight, rolling up their sleeves like butchers ready for a slaughter.
"Fine! You’ve got guts, Ophelia!
"Let’s go!"
Loki’s words sounded domineering, but in reality, he and his men fled the scene in sheer disgrace.
Zerev watched the entire spectacle unfold in silence. His silver eyes gleamed with a faint murderous intent as he stared at Loki’s retreating back.
He lowered his voice and asked Moye, who stood beside him, "Is he from the Snow Wolf Clan?"
Moye nodded. "Judging by his scent, yes."
"Since he lacks so much basic decency, let’s teach the Snow Wolf Clan some manners."
Moye acknowledged the order.
The very next day, the males of the Snow Wolf Clan noticed a group of people constantly interfering with their hunts. Another group was even running wild across their territory, driving all the prey out of the Snow Wolf Clan’s borders. The animals fled into the lands of other tribes, meaning any pursuit would be considered poaching across borders. As a result, the males couldn’t catch a single decent prey all day and were forced to settle for wild rabbits and pheasants just to get by.
Gradually, they realized that not only did these intruders come to sabotage them every single day, but they were also overwhelmingly powerful.
Whether it was one-on-one combat or a massive brawl, the wolves were simply no match for them.
After several days of starving, the males were living in absolute misery.
Unable to bear it any longer, they banded together and went to Loki to air their grievances.
"Who has the audacity to cause trouble in our Snow Wolf Clan?" Loki demanded. "Did they say why they were doing this?"
The males shook their heads, completely clueless.
Miche, who was listening nearby, was equally bewildered. Who on earth would have the free time to pull such a stunt?
"Could it be Ophelia?" Miche whispered.
"It can’t be them. We didn’t recognize any of those people. They weren’t from the Golden Dragon Clan either."
Despite clashing with the intruders in a prolonged guerrilla war, the Snow Wolf Clan still hadn’t figured out which tribe they belonged to.
Loki furrowed his brows. "If it’s not her, then who else? Who else would bear such a massive grudge against us?"
Miche pondered for a moment before offering her theory. "I noticed she has a pretty good relationship with City Lord Mo Ye of Ten Thousand Beasts City. Maybe she convinced City Lord Mo Ye to send those people."
"That is entirely possible!"
Over the next few days, Loki deployed a wave of men to secretly trail the saboteurs. Sure enough, after taking a massive detour at dusk, the group ultimately returned to Ten Thousand Beasts City.
When Loki heard the report, he slammed his hand against the table in a rage. "It really was her! Since she refuses to leave us a way to survive, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
The following morning, Loki selected fifty of the strongest men from the Snow Wolf Clan and marched them aggressively toward the Fuzu Tribe.
They blocked the entrance to the Fuzu Tribe at the crack of dawn, stopping any of the males who wanted to head out for hunting.
"What are you doing, Loki?"
"Are you trying to start a war between our two tribes?"
Looking at the measly twenty or so men standing opposite him, Loki sneered arrogantly. "What? Are you the only ones allowed to play dirty behind our backs? Am I not allowed to come and settle the score?"
"What nonsense are you sprouting? When have we ever played dirty?"
"Exactly! You’re the one who’s always pulling underhanded tricks on us. We’ve never once provoked you."
Seeing Loki slander them like this, the members of the Fuzu Tribe grew red in the face with fury. They rolled up their sleeves, fully prepared to brawl.
Just as the situation was about to explode into violence, two tall figures slowly walked over.
"What is going on here?" Moye asked, narrowing his eyes as he surveyed both sides.
"Mind your own business! I suggest you stay out of this, or I’ll beat you up too," Loki snapped.
It was the first time someone had ever pointed a finger at his nose and threatened him so brazenly. Moye found the experience rather novel.
"Do you know who I am? And do you have any idea who he is?" Moye pointed at himself, then gestured to Zerev beside him.
"I don’t care who you are! No one is going to stop me from settling the score with Ophelia today."
"I am Ophelia’s mate," Zerev stated coolly.
"You’re O—Ophelia’s mate? She actually dared to secretly find a new mate behind my back?!"
Loki was infuriated, feeling as though he had just been cuckolded. His emerald-green eyes blazed with intense fury.
"Since when do I need your permission to find a mate, Loki? Don’t think so highly of yourself."
Upon hearing that Loki had brought a mob to block their entrance, Ophelia’s sleepiness vanished entirely out of pure anger.
She had hastily thrown on a linen dress and rushed straight to the tribe’s entrance. Because she had dressed in such a hurry, the collar of her garment hung crookedly, exposing a large swath of her snow-white skin.
A dark glint flashed in Zerev’s eyes. He silently stepped forward and reached out to straighten her collar.
Startled by his sudden, intimate gesture, Ophelia felt a wave of shyness and was momentarily at a loss.
However, seeing Zerev touch Ophelia turned Loki’s eyes bloodshot with rage.
"Ophelia, how long has it even been since you broke our mating bond? And you’ve already found yourself another male! Have you no shame?!"
Zerev nonchalantly raised his hand. In the blink of an eye, a dark figure darted out like a bolt of lightning.
Immediately after, Loki shrieked in agony. "AH! My mouth! My teeth!"
"Damn it, they actually shattered my teeth!" Loki cursed, struggling to spit the broken fragments of his teeth out of his mouth.
The Snow Wolf Clan males standing behind him were given a massive fright.
They hadn’t even managed to catch a glimpse of the attacker’s face, proving that the enemy’s strength was terrifyingly vast.
"Ophelia... y-you’ve got nerve!
"As long as I’m here, don’t even think about anyone in your tribe taking a single step outside!
"Your entire Fuzu Tribe barely makes up fifty people! How could you possibly compare to the three hundred and fifty-seven males of my Snow Wolf Clan?
"If you know what’s good for you, have this male get on his knees and apologize! Otherwise, you can just wait for everyone in your tribe to starve to death!" Loki spat venomously, hurling threats with ferocious arrogance.
Yet, Ophelia wasn’t provoked by his words in the slightest.
She merely cast a breezy glance at Moye, who was silently watching the drama unfold from the sidelines.
"City Lord Mo Ye, if I recall correctly, a tribe is required to pay a new Crystal Stone tax when they change their Clan Leader. Am I remembering that right?"
The moment his professional expertise was brought up, Moye instantly became serious.
He cleared his throat. "You are correct. Changing a Clan Leader requires the tribe to register at Ten Thousand Beasts City and pay a fee of one Orange Crystal Stone."
"And what if someone secretly fails to report it to evade paying the Crystal Stone?"
"Then, naturally, they would be fined ten Orange Crystal Stones to teach them a lesson."
As soon as Moye said this, the muscles in Loki’s face began to twitch uncontrollably.
He had never imagined that the chubby, middle-aged male standing in front of him was actually the City Lord of Ten Thousand Beasts City.
The smile on Ophelia’s face deepened. She pointed at Loki. "City Lord Mo Ye, do you know him?"
Moye shook his head.
"He is currently the new Clan Leader of the Snow Wolf Clan. If the City Lord doesn’t recognize him, well... isn’t that interesting?"
Watching Ophelia effortlessly turn the tables and escalate the situation to a completely different level with just a few choice words, the corners of Zerev’s lips curled up slightly. So, his little female had such a cunning side to her.
Tyler also caught on to Ophelia’s intention and chuckled softly.
The other members of the Fuzu Tribe weren’t stupid either. Raising their voices, they shouted, "Well then, Lord Moye! It seems Loki here has deliberately concealed this from you!
"Are you going to fine him ten Orange Crystal Stones now?"
