I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 102: The Ad Is Out, Loki Secretly Learns
Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Ad Is Out, Loki Secretly Learns
Moye naturally kept things strictly business. He ordered Loki to make up the ten Orange Crystal Stones within fifteen days; otherwise, he would confiscate the Snow Wolf Clan’s Clan Leader Token.
Loki never expected this to blow up in his face. Seeing the situation growing increasingly severe, he had no choice but to take his fifty males and return to the Snow Wolf Clan, dejected and with his tail between his legs.
Upon leaving, he noticed a type of green grass planted all around the Fuzu Tribe. Filled with curiosity, he inexplicably yanked a handful of it on his way out.
After returning to the Snow Wolf Clan, Loki ignored the males behind him and rushed frantically to find his father, Soro.
Upon hearing Loki’s report, Soro was so furious that he raised his hand and slapped him hard across the face.
"You bastard! What exactly do you do all day?
"I told you ages ago to go to Ten Thousand Beasts City and hand over the Crystal Stones. So many days have passed, and not only have you failed to get it done, but you were also caught red-handed by Moye!"
Seeing his father’s fury, Loki hastily dropped to his knees. "Father, I know I was wrong. You have to help me!"
"Help you? How am I supposed to help you? I don’t have any Crystal Stones to give you."
Loki’s face turned ashen. "But Father, if we don’t make up for the missing Crystal Stones, Moye will confiscate the Clan Leader Token. When that happens, the position of the Wolf Clan’s Clan Leader will truly fall to someone else."
Soro staggered, unable to bear the thought of their family’s Clan Leader position falling into an outsider’s hands.
He steadied his breathing and said slowly, "Forget it. Consider this the last thing I will do for you as your father.
"I will go to Ten Thousand Beasts City tomorrow to see Moye and ask if we can hand over fewer Crystal Stones."
"Thank you, Father! I will definitely be filial to you from now on."
With the matter temporarily resolved, the heavy weight in Loki’s heart finally lifted.
"Father, look at this. What is it? There is a lot of it outside Ophelia’s tribe, and it looks like it was intentionally planted. Is this edible?"
Soro’s cloudy yet shrewd eyes carefully examined the grass in Loki’s hand.
After studying it for a long time, he finally dared to confirm his suspicion.
"These are rice seedlings, and from the looks of it, they are of extraordinary quality."
Loki was astonished. "Ophelia actually knows how to grow rice? How come I’ve never heard her mention it? I’ve never even heard of her knowing anyone who could."
Soro’s expression turned serious as he instructed, "Go and keep watch outside the Fu Clan personally. See if you can learn their method for growing rice.
"Steal some more rice seedlings while you’re at it, and we will try planting them ourselves. If we can master rice cultivation, we’ll see which of the surrounding tribes will ever dare to look down on us again."
Loki was somewhat reluctant. "Father, the weather is so hot right now, and I have many things waiting to be handled in the tribe. How about I just send someone else?"
Soro delivered another heavy slap to Loki’s face. His tone was icy and threatening.
"You must handle this matter personally! If you mess this up again, your time as the Clan Leader is over."
Seeing his father bring up the Clan Leader position, Loki immediately dropped his petty schemes.
"Yes, Father," Loki said. "I will handle this personally. Nothing will go wrong."
Seeing that Loki was at least being obedient, the anger in Soro’s heart gradually subsided.
Early the next morning, he prepared ten prey animals and headed to Ten Thousand Beasts City.
However, no matter what he said, Moye refused to accept the ten prey he brought.
Soro grew a bit anxious. "City Lord Mo Ye, we’ve known each other for over a decade. Just cut us some slack this time and let the Snow Wolf Clan off the hook.
"We aren’t asking for a full exemption. Even paying just a few less would help. After all, the rainy season just ended, and no tribe is having an easy time right now. You know this well."
Seeing Soro, with his head full of white hair, forced to come out and plead for his good-for-nothing son, Moye felt a pang of sympathy. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a slightly ajar door to the room next to the hall.
His softening heart instantly hardened again. "Soro, I truly cannot help you.
"A master from above recently came down to check the accounts, and word of Loki’s situation has already reached his ears. Even I cannot change things now.
"These ten Orange Crystal Stones must be paid in full. Not a single one can be missing."
Seeing Moye’s resolute attitude, Soro’s straight back slumped significantly.
"Thank you for informing me, City Lord. We will make up for the missing Crystal Stones on time. We absolutely won’t put you in a difficult position."
At the Fuzu Tribe, the three-story stone house had already been built.
Every morning, Ophelia would still see Samo at the dining table.
Ophelia was rendered somewhat speechless. How could he become addicted to freeloading meals?
Samo also knew that this was inappropriate.
So, without waiting for Ophelia to bring it up, he cheekily sidled over to her.
"Ophelia, I want to join the Fu Clan too. Plus, I can build a five-story stone house."
Five stories?
"Are you serious? You aren’t just spouting nonsense so you can stay, are you?" Ophelia was a bit skeptical.
She felt that building a three-story stone house was already pushing the limits of the Beast World.
Building a five-story one? She wouldn’t even dare to imagine it.
The Fu Clan originally had 6,000 square meters of land. She had used 5,000 square meters to reclaim the wasteland and plant crops.
This left only 1,000 square meters for the tribe’s residential area. Although their population wasn’t that large at the moment, it would eventually grow, and the current residential space wouldn’t be enough.
When that time came, they would need to expand the tribe outward, which would encroach on their arable land.
But if they could truly build their houses higher, they could maximize the amount of usable land.
"Of course it’s true! When has Samo ever told a lie?
"As long as you agree to let me stay in the Fu Clan and provide me with meals like this every day, I can help you build a five-story stone house. I guarantee it’ll be the only one of its kind near Ten Thousand Beasts City."
"Alright. If you can really build a five-story stone house, I’ll agree to it."
After the two reached an agreement, Samo took the elderly males and began constructing the five-story stone house.
Since Ophelia had enjoyed a pleasant chat with the Clan Leaders of several other tribes during the previous bonfire party, she had suggested letting the elderly males from their tribes come over to help build the tribe’s perimeter wall.
Naturally, the Clan Leaders wouldn’t refuse such a good deal.
Thus, half a month later, the walls for the Fuzu Tribe’s shops were completed, and even the regular perimeter walls surrounding the area were finished.
The five-story stone house had also begun to take shape. Even from a distance, the towering structure could be seen standing proudly on the plains.
A total of twenty shops had been built. Though each was only five square meters, it was more than enough space.
Over the past ten or so days, thanks to Sail and Lam’s continuous promotion, quite a few males who specialized in trading had come to inquire about the shops.
Furthermore, one male had already confirmed that he wanted to join the Fuzu Tribe.
Just three days after the shops were completed, fifteen of them had already been reserved. Excluding the ones for Sail and Lam, only three were left.
Ophelia took a relaxed approach to the rest. If no one wanted to use them, she would just use them herself.
After all, she would need space to sell grain and trade for prey in the future.
These past few days, Sail and Lam hadn’t just been promoting the Fu Clan’s shops; they had also spread the news that the Fu Clan would soon possess the only five-story stone house in Ten Thousand Beasts City, making it common knowledge.
Out of curiosity about what a five-story stone house looked like, quite a few people even made a special trip to the Fuzu Tribe just to see the spectacle.
