I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 308: If Only

"I-I am not being protective. You were acting too cold toward him, Father." Emily became a little flustered. She had reacted on instinct. Jason asked a few questions that, though direct, were very basic, and anyone would want those answers. Because even with cultivators, there weren’t many Disaster Class knights in the world. Yet a boy who was only around twenty years old had killed Sylus Moure. Sylus Moure, the strongest Disaster Class mage in the world. Who would be able to digest such information normally? No one. And if someone was really that capable, shouldn’t their name be well known throughout the world? After all, someone doesn’t end up being the strongest overnight. Their journey leaves legends behind every step. But nobody knew who Leon was. How he looked. So Jason Flemming was still struggling to believe it. Still wondering if Sol was playing a prank on him. Emily knew it too. But she didn’t want her father to question Leon like that. But now that her father claimed she was being protective, how could she admit that?

"You are not?" Jason raised an eyebrow. ’From when did she start getting flustered?’ Jason mused inwardly. Then something clicked in his mind as he looked at Leon again. ’Don’t tell me she finally...’ Jason froze for a second before a smile spread across his lips. "Hahahahaha. I see what’s going on."

At those words, Emily’s face flushed a little. "Father, I hope you aren’t misreading something."

"I am not reading anything. Whatever..." Jason walked toward Leon.

"Hello, young man. We didn’t get the chance to get introduced properly the last time you were in Flemming Villa. I am Jason Flemming. These two brats’ father." Jason stretched his arm for a handshake.

Leon returned the handshake like a gentleman. "There is no one in the world who doesn’t know you, Mr. Flemming," Leon replied politely. After witnessing parts of Logan’s memories, Leon’s attitude had changed slightly. Now, he would behave coldly when someone behaved arrogantly. But he wouldn’t be a jerk if someone behaved politely either. As if he were a mirror. Leon himself hadn’t noticed it, though.

"I will not beat around the bush, Leon. How could you kill Sylus Moure? That makes you stronger than me. Possibly stronger than anyone in the world. So I hope you will understand why I am asking this. I need to make sure you aren’t a threat to the world. Rather, you are someone humanity can look up to."

"It’s alright, Mr. Flemming. I was lucky I could defeat Sylus. I have a technique that temporarily boosts my strength." Leon said. ’Emily and Snow had already seen me using the Berserk Mode. This should be enough.’ He mused inwardly. "Also, I was lucky to get my hands on some treasures and weapons that also played a major role." Leon had no intention of explaining in detail that after having three dantians, his strength was now unfathomable. Even he couldn’t compare his strength with just cultivation levels anymore. The boost from dantians, his bloodline, all were playing a big role. "And you can be sure about one thing. I am not someone who will cause trouble without a reason." Leon said in a firm tone. His stance was clear. He wasn’t someone Jason had to be worried about. Like someone who would cause trouble for power or money or any other self-interest. But if he had to fight someone for something, he wouldn’t hold back either.

Jason could tell that Leon was hiding a lot but didn’t press it further. "I see." He nodded thoughtfully. Leon was suppressing his true strength at the moment. So Jason couldn’t see through his strength. But he could tell. The confidence Leon exuded while standing before him, his eyes that radiated his unwavering will, could only belong to someone capable.

Sol quickly stepped forward. "Father, big bro is coming to Daselvia with us." Sol quickly explained the situation briefly.

Jason almost choked. "You brats!" He looked at Emily and Sol with a bewildered expression. "You two had sneaked inside a foreign military cantonment? Are you two stupid? And Emily!" He looked at Emily. "Even you were in this? I never thought I would have to see this day when you would act so immaturely."

"We were just worried about big bro, Father," Sol said hurriedly.

"You are worried about someone who killed Sylus Moure?" He was about to say more when he finally noticed Snow. "Wait! And this is?"

Snow stepped forward and replied. "Hello, Mr. Flemming. It’s a great honour to be in your presence. I am Snow Hermann. Leon’s girlfriend." She said with a smile but in a firm voice, as if she was being clear about her territory.

Emily didn’t react in front of her father, but her jaw clenched slightly.

Leon looked at her helplessly. "Now, don’t start with that naked scene again. Please." He said in a hushed voice before looking at Jason. "We are friends."

Jason, meanwhile, looked at Sol and Emily as if trying to read their expressions. He wasn’t just a strong hunter but also a person who had lived more than a few decades. He was experienced not just in fighting but also in life and the drama that came with it. And he could read the tension in the air. He couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly. ’So that’s what they were worried about.’

"Okay." Jason finally spoke. "If you have truly decided to go to Daselvia, then we can be considered blessed, Leon. Let’s go and bring your mother safely to Daselvia."

He gestured toward the jet. "But let’s use it instead of the car. It will be faster."

"Sure," Leon said.

Jason started walking toward the jet as everyone followed behind him. Soon, everyone boarded the jet as its door closed shut.

The jet tore through the air and headed toward the hospital where Leon’s mother was.

Meanwhile, the group of assassins from the Bloodhound guild, along with the young man from the Ghost Blade clan, were still waiting in the hospital for Leon’s arrival.

If only they knew what they were truly waiting for...
