Chapter 303: Are We Done Now

Leon’s leg slammed into Albert’s head, blood splattering on the ground, a dull thud echoing.

A deadly silence fell. Everyone struggled to process what just happened. Even the company commanders. A major-rank military officer, an A-class knight, died just like that. Nobody dared to move, not even breathe loudly.

’No, no, no." Rodriguez cursed in his mind. ’I am doomed. What the hell did he just do?’

"You!" Drake finally reacted, his voice shaking.

"Everyone! Surround him." Cynthia also reacted.

Soldiers stormed toward the area. Weapons were drawn. Everyone was looking at Leon warily. With fear.

"Hands behind your head," Cynthia shouted. "Now."

Logan looked around calmly. Rodriguez was looking at him helplessly. He wanted to help but he didn’t know how. Leon had just killed a military officer.

Leon’s eyes fell on Cynthia finally. "I mean no harm. He tried to kill me. Both inside the gate and outside the gate. And I acted accordingly. I don’t need a military license or a hunter’s license anymore. Just let me leave and I won’t pursue the matter."

Drake and Cynthia were both shocked. Rudy was stunned too. "The audacity!" Drake whispered.

Cynthia’s eyes narrowed. "How dare you?" Cynthia’s voice wasn’t loud but it was laced with rage. "You killed a military officer," She said coldly. "And now you expect us to let you walk away?"

"He tried to kill me first."

"That doesn’t give you the right to execute him!"

"He swung a sword at my head."

"There are procedures!" Cynthia snapped. "You don’t decide the punishment yourself."

Leon didn’t reply. He knew she wasn’t completely wrong. Albert had tried to kill him, but killing a military officer openly wasn’t something the others could ignore.

"Hands behind your head," Cynthia ordered again. "Surrender."

Leon remained still.

Rodriguez finally stepped forward. "Major Cynthia, please. We should calm down first."

"Stay out of this, Rodriguez."

"But you don’t understand."

Drake glared at him. "What don’t we understand?"

Rodriguez pointed at Leon. "He isn’t someone we should fight. You all are making a big mistake."

Drake’s expression darkened. "So because he’s strong, we should ignore what he did?"

"No. That’s not what I’m saying."

"Then stop interfering."

Rodriguez clenched his jaw. He understood their position. They didn’t care about Albert personally. But a company commander had just been killed in front of them. They couldn’t simply let Leon leave. Still, fighting him was a terrible idea.

"At least investigate what happened inside the gate first," Rodriguez insisted. "There are witnesses. Albert’s soldiers tried to kill him inside the gate too."

"That can happen after he surrenders," Cynthia said.

Leon sighed. "I already told you. I’m leaving."

Cynthia stared at him for a few seconds. Then she raised her hand. "Subdue him."

Sssssss!

Weapons were drawn instantly.

More than three hundred soldiers surrounded Leon. Ten junior officers spread out as well. The first group rushed forward.

Whoooosh!

Three swords came from different directions.

Leon tilted his head. One passed beside his cheek. He stepped sideways, avoiding another, then lightly tapped the third soldier’s chest.

Bang!

The man flew backward and rolled across the ground.

He wasn’t seriously hurt.

Five more attacked.

Leon moved between them like a phantom.

Whoooosh!

Whoooosh!

Every sword missed. Leon struck one shoulder, pushed another chest, then flicked one man’s forehead.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

All three were sent flying. Two more tried to punch him but met the same fate.

"Archers!"

Twang!

Dozens of arrows shot toward him. Some were covered with fire, others with wind and lightning.

Leon moved. His figure blurred.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Arrows exploded against the ground, but not one touched him.

A junior officer slammed both palms together.

"Earth Prison!"

Rumble! Stone walls erupted around Leon.

Another officer threw a glowing chain.

Leon jumped over it, twisted in midair, and landed outside the stone walls.

Before the officer could react, Leon appeared before him.

Tap.

Bang!

The man flew backward. Leon still wasn’t using even ten percent of his strength. These soldiers weren’t his enemies. They were following orders. From their point of view, Leon had killed an officer. So he didn’t blame them.

Minutes passed. More soldiers attacked. Swords flashed. Spears thrust forward. Artifacts glowed. Fireballs exploded. Wind blades tore through the air. Lightning cracked across the ground.

Yet Leon kept moving. He slipped between every attack as if he already knew where each one would land. Whenever someone got close enough...

Tap.

Push.

Flick.

Bang!

Another soldier was thrown away.

Ten minutes passed. Then twenty. Cynthia’s expression slowly changed. "He hasn’t attacked seriously even once..." Drake gritted his teeth. He had noticed it too.

Hundreds of soldiers were fighting Leon, yet no one had suffered a serious injury. That was even more frightening.

"Let’s go," Drake said.

Cynthia nodded.

Whoooosh!

Both rushed forward. Cynthia attacked from the left. Drake came from the right. Two swords flashed.

Leon stepped backward.

Boom!

Their attacks struck the ground.

Cynthia immediately followed, stabbing toward Leon’s chest. Leon raised one hand.

Clang!

He caught the blade between two fingers.

Cynthia’s eyes widened. Leon twisted his wrist. The sword flew from her hand. At the same moment, Drake attacked from behind. Leon turned and pressed his palm against the flat side of Drake’s sword.

Bang!

Drake was pushed backward more than twenty meters, his boots carving deep lines through the ground.

Cynthia retrieved her sword.

"Again!"

They attacked once more. Again. Again. And again.

Thirty minutes later.

"Haa..."

"Haa..."

Hundreds of soldiers were scattered across the area. Some were sitting. Some were lying down. Others leaned on their weapons, barely able to stand. The ten junior officers weren’t much better. Drake stood with his hands on his knees. Cynthia’s chest rose and fell rapidly, sweat covering her forehead.

And in the middle of everyone...

Leon stood silently. His clothes were untouched. His breathing was normal. There wasn’t even sweat on his face. He stood like a proud mountain that hadn’t moved despite the storm crashing against it for half an hour.

Rodriguez stared at him helplessly. He had warned them. Leon slowly looked around.

"Are we done now?"
