Chapter 182: From Contract To A Battle

  • Next Chapter

Seeing the situation spiral completely out of control, Leon shot forward without the slightest hesitation.

"Wait! Stop!" Benjamin shouted from the side.

But Leon didn’t even slow down.

Stanley had helped him more than once. He had allowed Leon to use the gravity training chamber. He had given him the bracelet that would conceal his cultivation realm and strength.

How could Leon just stand there and watch him take another blow?

Unfortunately, Frenrir wasn’t here. That meant Fusion was out of the question. Nor did Leon want to draw the Frost Monarch’s Blade unless it truly became a life-or-death situation.

Without either of those trump cards, his true battle prowess was only at the peak of A-Class. Using the fourth ice spell, he could fight at the level of an S-Class hunter. But even that was nowhere near enough against a Disaster Class knight.

Even so...

He charged forward without hesitation. Benjamin let out a helpless sigh and followed after him.

But Kyle Donovan had no intention of letting them interfere.

With a subtle gesture, he signaled all twelve S-Class hunters to move.

The spectators didn’t remain idle either.

Many A-Class and B-Class hunters had gathered to watch Arsenal’s Fury. What had begun as nothing more than a contract dispute over Elena’s delayed weapon delivery — a delay caused by deception — had now escalated into an all-out battle.

On one side stood Theo, a Disaster Class knight, alongside twelve S-Class hunters and Kyle Donovan.

On the other stood Stanley, Benjamin, Leon — whose fourth ice spell allowed him to unleash S-Class combat power, and a handful of A-Class and B-Class hunters.

Some were even weaker.

An S-Class hunter from Johana raised his hand and hurled a massive fireball into the battlefield.

Three A-Class hunters from Delvan rushed forward to block it.

The instant the fireball exploded, blazing flames engulfed them. Their screams of agony echoed through the battlefield. Fortunately, two more A-Class hunters with water affinity reacted immediately. Torrents of water surged forward, extinguishing the flames before the three could suffer fatal injuries.

Not far away, another S-Class hunter from Johana wielded a spear, fighting against four opponents by himself.

Two were A-Class hunters. The other two were B-Class.

The A-Class hunters were particularly formidable. One possessed lightning affinity, while the other wielded a magical bow. Lightning crackled as bolt after bolt shot toward the S-Class knight. Meanwhile, every time the archer drew the string, an arrow of pure energy materialized out of thin air. The moment he released it, the arrow tore through the air with astonishing speed.

Even so, four opponents weren’t enough to defeat an S-Class hunter. The spearman from Johana wasn’t losing. Far from it.

Yet under the relentless coordination of the four hunters, he had been forced entirely onto the defensive, making every second of the battle increasingly difficult.

Elsewhere, Leon and Benjamin were each engaged in fierce combat against an S-Class hunter from Johana.

Benjamin had fallen into a stalemate with his opponent.

Leon, however... Was completely dominating his opponent. And his opponent was none but Kyle Donovan, the president of the Johanna Hunter Association. The reason wasn’t just the fourth ice spell. He had activated it, but he had also summoned the Raging Inferno’s Wings from his system storage.

The instant they appeared, Leon had activated their stealth mode. The twin daggers had vanished from sight. Only the sharp whistles slicing through the air betrayed their presence. They circled the battlefield like invisible predators waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Ordinarily, Leon would have been at a huge disadvantage against him. But the addition of the Raging Inferno’s Wings had completely shifted the battle.

Every time Kyle tried to overwhelm Leon with his superior strength... A sharp whistle would ring out. The next instant, a cut would appear somewhere on his body.

Kyle’s elemental affinity was Earth.

A thick layer of earth armor protected nearly every inch of his body.

Yet those invisible daggers repeatedly slipped past his defenses, targeting the smallest openings.

His knees. His ankles. His elbows. Every joint he had to leave exposed to preserve his mobility became a target.

Leon shot toward Kyle, drawing his right fist back for a devastating punch.

Kyle charged forward as well.

Earth rapidly gathered around his right arm, forming a massive stone gauntlet.

Just as he was about to throw his punch...

Whoooosh!

A crimson streak flashed past. Blood splattered into the air. Kyle’s right knee was slashed open, causing it to buckle.

The force behind his punch weakened instantly.

Booooom!

Leon’s fist collided with Kyle’s.

Crack!

A crisp cracking sound could be heard easily.

"Arghhhh!" Kyle roared in both pain and fury. Ignoring the injury, he immediately threw another punch.

Leon thrust his left fist to intercept it as well.

Boom!

The collision forced Leon to slide back nearly ten meters before he finally came to a stop.

Meanwhile, Stanley was in a miserable state.

He could clearly feel the difference. Theo had only recently stepped into the Disaster Class. He was merely at the very beginner level of that stage.

Yet the gap between them felt like an endless ocean.

To make matters worse, Stanley was far from his peak due to the injuries to his heart.

Even so...

He fought like a wounded lion.

White whips of light wrapped around both of his arms, forming radiant gauntlets. He unleashed punch after punch while, at the same time, countless swords of light descended from the sky.

He was casting two spells simultaneously.

The battlefield was being torn apart with every passing second.

Wherever a sword of light landed...

Boom!

The ground exploded violently.

Yet Theo dodged every single one with effortless ease. At the same time, he continued launching palm strikes one after another from a distance.

Stanley met each attack head-on. His glowing gauntlets shattered the invisible blasts one after another. But every collision forced him farther backward. His feet carved deep trenches into the ground as he struggled to withstand the overwhelming force.

The entire battlefield had descended into complete chaos.
