The four B rank beasts noticed the two Spirits.

They roared and charged.

Shiro moved first.

His Ice Elemental power spread across the battlefield.

Frostbound Sanctuary.

The ground froze.

A layer of frost quickly spread through the area, covering rocks, trees and the ground beneath the beasts.

The four B rank creatures slowed slightly.

It wasn’t enough to stop them.

But it was enough for Shiro to take control of the battlefield.

Ice walls rose from the ground.

One beast smashed through the first.

Another wall appeared behind it.

The beast changed direction.

A chain suddenly burst from the ice beneath its feet.

Frost Chains.

The chain wrapped around its leg.

The beast roared and shattered it.

Two more chains immediately grew from the broken pieces.

Damon smiled.

"Good."

Shiro wasn’t trying to hold the beast completely.

He was forcing it to move where he wanted.

Snow understood.

She moved.

The Frost Lynx shot across the frozen ground.

Her speed was noticeably higher than before.

Caelia’s eyes widened.

"She’s faster."

Damon nodded.

Snow slipped past the first beast and attacked another one from the side.

Her claws struck its shoulder.

Bang!

The B rank beast staggered.

Snow immediately retreated.

The beast roared and swung its massive claws.

It missed.

Snow was already gone.

Caelia watched closely.

Snow wasn’t simply faster.

Her movements were cleaner.

She was wasting less energy.

Her body responded more naturally to her thoughts.

The purified essence had strengthened her foundation.

Damon noticed it too.

"She’s controlling her strength better."

Caelia nodded.

"She feels different."

Snow attacked again.

This time, she aimed for the beast’s leg.

Her claws dug into its frozen armor.

The beast swung its tail.

Snow jumped.

A wall of ice suddenly rose between them.

The tail smashed into it.

BOOM!

Ice scattered everywhere.

Snow landed safely behind the barrier.

Shiro had saved her.

Caelia smiled.

"They’re already working together."

Damon nodded.

"That’s the point."

The beast wasn’t given time to recover.

A Frost Chain shot from the ground and wrapped around its rear leg.

Snow immediately attacked.

Her claws struck the same area.

The beast lost balance.

Snow followed with another attack.

This time, the beast fell.

Shiro pulled the chain.

The beast was dragged across the ice.

Snow jumped onto it.

Her claws struck again.

The B rank beast stopped moving.

Freya jumped excitedly.

"One!"

Sylphie cheered.

"Good job!"

Damon laughed.

"Alright. That’s one."

The other three beasts roared.

This time, they attacked together.

Shiro reacted immediately.

Several ice walls rose around him.

The first beast smashed through one.

The second jumped over another.

The third launched a massive Ice shard from behind.

Shiro’s eyes sharpened.

Frozen Barrier.

A thick wall of ice appeared in front of him.

The attack slammed into it.

BOOM!

Cracks spread across the barrier.

Shiro was pushed backward.

Damon’s expression changed slightly.

"Hold on."

Shiro dug his claws into the ground.

The barrier broke.

But the attack had already lost most of its power.

Shiro immediately sent Frost Chains through the broken ice.

Several chains wrapped around the attacking beast.

The creature roared and broke them.

More appeared.

Snow moved.

She rushed toward it.

One of the other beasts tried to intercept her.

A chain caught its leg.

Snow changed direction in midair.

She landed on an ice wall and pushed off.

Her claws flashed.

Slash!

The attack struck the beast across the face.

It staggered.

Snow landed behind it.

She turned immediately.

The beast swung around.

Another Frost Chain caught its leg.

Snow attacked again.

Caelia clenched her fists.

"That’s it, Snow!"

Snow’s body moved faster.

She was no longer fighting like she had before.

Every movement had a purpose.

She attacked when Shiro created an opening.

She retreated whenever the beasts counterattacked.

And Shiro kept changing the battlefield around her.

Walls appeared where she needed cover.

Ice spikes rose beneath the beasts.

Frost Chains came from unexpected directions.

Sometimes they came from the ground.

Sometimes from the side of an ice wall.

Once, a chain even appeared from beneath a broken section of ice and caught a beast just as it tried to leap.

Damon smiled.

"He’s getting smarter with it."

Caelia nodded.

"Snow too."

The battle continued.

But the three remaining B rank beasts were far from weak.

One of them finally broke through Shiro’s defenses.

Its claws struck his side.

Shiro was thrown across the ice.

"Shiro!"

Damon’s voice came from behind.

The Frost Qilin quickly got back up.

He was bleeding.

But he wasn’t down.

Snow immediately moved toward him.

Shiro shook his head.

He could still fight.

Damon didn’t interfere.

He trusted them.

"Keep going."

Shiro looked back at him.

Then he turned toward the beasts.

His eyes became colder.

The frost around him thickened.

Frostbound Sanctuary spread further.

The entire battlefield became their territory.

The three beasts charged again.

Shiro didn’t retreat.

He raised his head.

Ice erupted everywhere.

Walls.

Spikes.

Chains.

The beasts were forced to move through a maze of ice.

One smashed through a wall.

Another stepped over a spike.

The third suddenly found its legs trapped.

Frost Chains tightened around it.

It broke one.

Two more appeared.

Snow was already there.

She struck.

The beast roared and swung.

Snow ducked beneath the attack.

She moved around its side and attacked its rear leg.

The beast stumbled.

Shiro pulled the chains.

Snow attacked again.

The beast fell.

Two B rank beasts remained.

Both were injured.

So were Shiro and Snow.

Snow had several cuts along her side.

Shiro’s fur was stained with blood.

Yet neither wanted to stop.

Caelia looked at Damon.

"They’re hurt."

Damon nodded.

"I know."

"Should we step in?"

Damon looked at the two Spirits.

They were still standing.

Snow looked toward Caelia.

Shiro looked toward Damon.

Neither wanted help.

Damon smiled.

"Not yet."

Caelia understood.

She smiled too.

"Alright."

Freya and Sylphie became even louder.

"Come on!"

"Snow!"

"Shiro!"

The two Spirits stood together again.

Three B rank beasts had fallen.

Three were left.

And the next part of the battle was about to begin.

Damon leaned forward slightly.

"Let’s see what you’ve got."

Snow lowered herself.

Shiro’s horns began glowing with cold.

The remaining beasts roared.

Then they charged again.
