Chapter 130: Chapter 130: A Good Start

Shiro remained within the Spirit Origin, allowing his body to stabilize.

Snow settled beside Caelia outside.

Caelia pulled her closer and gently ran her fingers through the Frost Lynx’s fur.

"You did well."

Snow closed her eyes.

Damon watched them for a moment.

The experiment had worked better than he expected.

Snow had accepted the purified essence.

Shiro had absorbed even more.

And Damon had become much more comfortable with the process.

Most importantly, he now knew that the Spirit Origin could purify Ice Elemental essence and pass it to another Spirit Elemental safely.

That was a huge step.

Damon leaned back.

"If this works on the Zone Heart..."

He stopped himself.

There was no point getting ahead of himself.

They still had to find it.

But this time, he felt more confident.

They weren’t walking into the unknown with nothing.

They had a method.

It might not be enough.

It might require far more energy than he could currently provide.

It might even fail completely.

But at least they could test it.

Caelia looked at him.

"You think it’ll work?"

Damon thought for a moment.

"I don’t know."

She raised an eyebrow.

"That’s surprisingly honest."

"I’d rather be surprised by success than disappointed because I convinced myself it would work."

Caelia smiled.

"That’s more like you."

Damon laughed.

"Tomorrow we’ll find out."

Caelia looked toward the deeper parts of Frostveil.

She was excited too.

If Damon was right, they might finally have a way to deal with the growing instability.

Not just for Winterbourne.

For everyone exploring the zone.

Damon looked at Snow and Shiro.

Both were resting after the experiment.

They had a big day ahead of them.

If Shiro could continue following the trail, they might finally reach the Zone Heart.

And when they did, Damon would be ready to try.

For now, though, there was nothing left to do.

"Get some rest."

Caelia nodded.

Damon closed his eyes as well.

The next morning came quickly.

Damon woke up to a much better mood than usual.

Caelia was already awake.

And she looked happier too.

The reason was obvious.

Snow had changed.

The changes weren’t huge, but they were there.

Her Frost Lynx body looked slightly more refined than before. Her fur had become thicker and smoother, while the pale blue patterns along her body were a little clearer.

Even her eyes looked sharper.

There was more strength in them.

Caelia noticed every little change.

She held Snow close, and the Frost Lynx happily snuggled against her.

Snow was usually calm and composed, but today she couldn’t hide her excitement.

Her tail moved constantly as she rubbed herself against Caelia.

"You really grew."

Snow gave a happy sound.

Caelia laughed.

Damon watched from nearby.

He had expected this.

The purified essence hadn’t simply given Snow more energy. Her body had needed time to stabilize and properly absorb it.

Now the results were showing.

"You look stronger."

Snow turned toward him proudly.

Damon smiled.

"Don’t get too proud."

Snow immediately looked away.

Caelia laughed.

"You’re the one who made her like this."

"Sure."

Damon shook his head as he watched Caelia hug Snow again.

Then she looked back at him.

"Thank you."

Before Damon could respond, she moved over and hugged him.

This time, she held him even tighter than she had held Snow.

Damon laughed.

"You’re squeezing me harder than you squeezed her."

"I know."

"Should I be worried?"

"No."

She tightened her arms around him.

Damon laughed again.

"Alright. Congratulations."

Caelia finally let him go.

She was clearly excited as she finally understood something.

She understood why Damon always wanted to see what his Spirits could do after every growth.

He wanted to know how much they had changed.

Caelia was starting to feel the same way.

She wanted to see Snow fight.

She wanted to know what this new strength could do.

Damon rewarded Snow with an extra portion of snacks.

Snow immediately forgot about everything else.

Caelia stared.

"You’re giving her more?"

"She earned it."

"She just got stronger."

"Exactly."

Snow happily ate from Damon’s hand.

Shiro wasn’t left out either.

The Frost Qilin had been growing rapidly over the past few days, and even Damon could feel that he was approaching another change.

Damon looked at him.

"You’ve been working hard too."

Shiro raised his head.

"You’ll get yours."

Shiro seemed satisfied.

After feeding the Spirits, Damon and Caelia shared breakfast before setting out again.

Their mood was different today.

They were still searching for the Zone Heart, but now they had another reason to be excited.

They wanted to see what their Spirits could do.

Shiro took the lead.

His senses had improved enough that he could pick up subtle changes in the Ice Elemental essence around them.

Damon and Caelia followed behind.

They hadn’t gone far when Caelia suddenly smiled.

Damon looked at her.

He already knew why as he smirked.

"It’s just as i wanted."

Caelia grinned as a group of beasts had appeared ahead.

Four B rank Ice Beasts.

Caelia looked at Snow.

Snow was already staring back at them.

Damon looked at Shiro.

The Frost Qilin stepped forward.

"Go."

Shiro moved beside Snow.

Damon and Caelia stayed behind.

Freya and Sylphie also came out to watch.

Freya immediately became excited.

"Go, Shiro!"

Sylphie followed.

"Snow too!"

Caelia laughed.

"You’re both louder than necessary."

Damon crossed his arms.

"Let them enjoy themselves."

The four B rank beasts noticed the two Spirits.

They roared and charged.

Shiro moved first.

His Ice Elemental power spread across the battlefield.

Frostbound Sanctuary.

The ground froze.

A layer of frost quickly spread through the area, covering rocks, trees and the ground beneath the beasts.

The four B rank creatures slowed slightly.

It wasn’t enough to stop them.

But it was enough for Shiro to take control of the battlefield.

Ice walls rose from the ground.

One beast smashed through the first.

Another wall appeared behind it.

The beast changed direction.

A chain suddenly burst from the ice beneath its feet.

"Frost Chains."
