I Can Evolve Spirit Elementals
Chapter 115: A Little Help
Chapter 115: Chapter 115: A Little Help
Inside the Winterbourne mansion, Caelia finally opened her eyes.
"Damon!"
She immediately sat up.
"Where’s Damon?"
Her voice echoed through the room.
Then she stopped, as she recognized several familiar faces that were staring at her.
Her father.
The elders.
The young geniuses.
All of them looked worried.
Caelia blinked.
She looked around.
Then her face turned red.
"...What?"
Cornelius sighed.
"You’ve just woken up."
"I know."
"You should lie down."
"Where’s Damon?"
Cornelius shook his head.
"You really don’t change."
Caelia ignored him.
"What happened?"
Her father finally gave her the answer she wanted.
He explained how the battle had developed after she lost consciousness.
The mansion was safe for now.
The beasts had been redirected.
Every beast in the area had been sent toward Damon.
The enemy had clearly intended to isolate him and bury him beneath sheer numbers.
But it hadn’t worked.
"The tide is actually decreasing," Cornelius said.
Caelia stared at him.
"Decreasing?"
"Yes."
He paused.
"Damon is still fighting."
Caelia slowly relaxed.
Then Cornelius continued.
"And he isn’t alone anymore."
She looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
The elders exchanged glances.
Cornelius smiled slightly.
"The spear you saw wasn’t his only secret."
Caelia’s eyes widened.
He told her about Sylphie.
The Wind Spirit Elemental had transformed into a weapon.
A bow.
Caelia was stunned.
But that wasn’t even the biggest surprise.
"There is another one," Cornelius said.
Caelia’s expression changed.
"Another?"
"Ice."
Her eyes widened.
"An Ice Spirit Elemental?"
Cornelius nodded.
"A Frost Qilin."
Caelia stared at him.
For a moment, she didn’t say anything.
Then her cheeks became slightly red.
Her father noticed.
Of course he noticed.
But he didn’t ask.
He already understood that Caelia knew more about Damon than she had told him.
Perhaps this was exactly why Damon had kept showing them his cards.
He had trusted them enough to reveal more of his strength.
And now that strength was paying off.
Caelia looked down.
"So he really did it."
Cornelius raised an eyebrow.
"You knew?"
"I suspected."
She didn’t explain further.
Her father let it go.
There were more important things to deal with.
Caelia looked toward the elders.
"We can’t just leave him there."
"I agree."
Cornelius stood.
"We were already discussing that before you woke up."
He explained their plan.
The enemy had created formations around the battlefield, keeping the beast tide moving toward Damon.
If they could destroy those formations, they could disrupt the enemy’s control and reduce the pressure around him.
But getting there wasn’t simple.
The beast tide was still massive.
So they needed a strong enough party to cut through it while the researchers located and destroyed the formations.
Caelia immediately pushed herself up.
"I’ll go."
"No."
"Father."
"You just woke up."
"I can fight."
"I know."
"Then let me come."
Cornelius stared at her.
Caelia stared back.
Neither moved.
Finally, Cornelius sighed.
"Fine."
Caelia smiled.
"But you stay close to the group."
"I will."
"And don’t overextend yourself."
"I won’t."
"Good."
She stood.
"Then let’s go."
A few minutes later, the Winterbourne party assembled.
Several powerful elemental users joined the group.
The researchers who understood resonance formations were also brought along.
Their job was simple.
Find the formations.
Destroy them.
The fighters would handle everything else.
Cornelius looked at the group.
"We don’t need to kill every beast."
Everyone listened.
"We only need to reach the formations. Stay together and don’t waste your Aether."
Caelia nodded.
The gates opened.
The group stepped into the battlefield.
Immediately, beasts rushed toward them.
Ice erupted.
Wind followed.
Lightning tore through the first wave.
The Winterbourne party pushed forward.
They weren’t trying to conquer the battlefield.
They were cutting a path.
And somewhere ahead of them, Damon was still fighting.
The enemy leaders received the report soon after.
The expression on the main leader’s face darkened.
"The Winterbourne party has moved."
"How many?"
"Enough."
Another scout stepped forward.
"They’re heading toward the resonance formations."
Silence filled the room.
The leader clenched his fist.
Their plan had been perfect.
They had separated Damon from the others.
They had redirected the entire beast tide toward him.
They had increased the resonance formations again and again.
Yet Damon was still standing.
Not only standing.
Fighting.
And now the tide was decreasing.
"He really is a thorn in the flesh."
The leader bit down hard.
His jaw tightened.
They had expected exhaustion.
They had expected panic.
They had expected the sheer number of beasts to eventually overwhelm him.
Instead, Damon had adapted.
Again.
And again.
And again.
His Aether reserves were far greater than they had expected.
His combat ability was even worse to deal with.
And those Spirits...
The spear.
The Wind weapon.
The Frost Qilin.
Every new card Damon revealed had ruined another part of their plan.
One of the others looked toward the leader.
"If the Winterbourne party destroys the formations..."
He didn’t finish.
Everyone already knew.
Their entire operation would collapse.
"Can we redirect the beasts again?"
"No."
"Why?"
"The tide is already losing momentum. If we force another redirection, we risk losing control."
The room became silent.
Another leader looked toward the battlefield.
"Then what do we do?"
No one answered.
For the first time, their plan wasn’t falling apart because they lacked numbers.
They had numbers.
They had formations.
They had prepared the battlefield carefully.
But Damon was still there.
And he was getting stronger as the fight continued.
The leader stared into the distance.
"Send everything we have."
A subordinate hesitated.
"Even the stronger beasts?"
The leader’s eyes narrowed.
"Yes."
"If Damon wants to keep fighting..."
He clenched his fist.
"Then let’s see how long he can keep standing."
Far away, Damon stood in the middle of the battlefield.
Another group of beasts charged.
He looked at Freya.
Then Sylphie.
Then Shiro.
The three spirits were ready.
Damon smiled.
"Looks like they’re getting desperate."
Freya’s tails flicked.
Sylphie’s bow hummed with wind.
Shiro lowered his head, frost spreading beneath his feet.
Damon tightened his grip.
"Alright."
He stepped forward.
"Let’s show them why that was a bad idea.
