Chapter 110: Chapter 110: A New Form

"Don’t use too much."

Freya glanced back.

Damon shook his head.

"We don’t know how long this will last."

She understood.

The current B ranks weren’t a problem.

Numbers were.

The tide was still growing.

Freya couldn’t afford to empty herself too early.

So she adjusted.

The afterimages became more selective.

They didn’t waste attacks.

Each one only struck when necessary.

When one was destroyed, Freya immediately created another.

Damon could feel every bit of the cost.

He knew exactly how much Aether she was spending.

"Good."

He closed his eyes again.

"Keep it like that."

Freya nodded.

Then returned to the fight.

Time passed.

The battlefield became covered in corpses.

Then those corpses were buried beneath new beasts.

It seemed like the tide would never end.

But Freya still stood.

Her breathing had become heavier.

Yet she smiled.

Because she had done what Damon asked.

She had held the entire tide back by herself.

Then she felt something.

Freya stopped.

She looked toward Damon.

A gust of wind suddenly swept across the battlefield.

Damon opened his eyes.

His second core was glowing.

A smile appeared on his face.

"Finally."

The wind around him became stronger.

Sylphie had finished.

Damon could feel her presence clearly.

She had taken a form.

He had an idea of what it might be.

But knowing the general direction didn’t make him any less curious.

"What did you choose?"

The wind answered him.

Damon laughed.

"Alright."

He stood.

"Show me."

Freya looked excited too.

Even the Frost Seed in Damon’s pocket began pulsing.

It was almost as if it understood that something important had happened.

Damon waited.

The wind grew stronger.

Then everything became quiet.

A figure slowly appeared in front of Damon.

It wasn’t Sylphie’s beast form.

It wasn’t a simple weapon either.

A bow.

A beautiful bow made from condensed Wind Aether.

Its limbs curved naturally, almost like the wings of a great bird.

The main body was a deep silver green, with faint lines of pale wind running through it.

Intricate patterns covered the limbs.

They weren’t ordinary decorations.

They looked like ancient markings.

Some resembled feathers.

Others looked like flowing currents of wind.

At the center of the bow was a small crystal shaped like an eye.

It pulsed softly.

The grip was wrapped in a smooth material that seemed almost alive.

And around the bowstring, tiny currents of wind constantly moved.

There was no physical arrow.

The bow created one whenever it was drawn.

Damon stared.

"Wow."

The bow floated quietly before him.

It carried the same feeling Sylphie had always possessed.

Freedom.

Speed.

A quiet confidence.

But there was something else now.

Something ancient.

It didn’t feel like a weapon that had simply been created.

It felt like a weapon that had been waiting to exist.

Damon reached out.

The bow flew into his hand.

The moment he touched it, the connection between them became stronger.

He could feel Sylphie clearly.

Her excitement.

Her pride.

And the little bit of nervousness she was trying to hide.

Damon smiled.

"You did well."

The bow vibrated slightly.

"Really."

He looked at the weapon in his hand.

"I love it."

The wind around the bow became stronger.

Damon laughed.

"Yes, yes. You can stop showing off."

The bow suddenly changed slightly.

The lower limb extended.

A short curved blade of condensed wind appeared near the grip.

Damon blinked.

"Oh?"

The wind blade shimmered.

He understood.

"You wanted something for close combat too."

The bow pulsed.

Damon shook his head with a smile.

"You’re always thinking ahead."

That was Sylphie.

Even when evolving into a weapon, she had still thought about how she could help him in more situations.

The bow wasn’t only meant for distance.

It could be used up close too.

Damon tightened his grip.

"Perfect."

The scouts were speechless.

They had watched Freya change from a spear into a nine tailed fox.

Now they had watched Sylphie change from a Wind Sovereign Roc into a weapon.

A bow.

But not an ordinary bow.

The weapon’s aura alone was enough to make them uncomfortable.

One scout swallowed.

"Did..."

He struggled to speak.

"Did that weapon just become a Spirit Elemental?"

Another scout stared at Freya.

"And that Spirit Elemental just became a weapon."

Neither of them knew what to say after that.

How were they supposed to report this?

They had already been struggling to explain Damon’s strength.

Now he had done something that didn’t even make sense to them.

And they hadn’t even seen the weapon fight yet.

Damon looked toward the tide.

Freya was still standing.

Her breathing was heavier now.

Damon looked at her.

"You can rest."

Freya shook her head.

"I know."

She looked stubborn.

Damon sighed.

"You’ve done enough."

Freya still didn’t move.

Damon smiled.

"Fine."

He held the Wind Bow in one hand.

"Recover while watching us."

Freya finally nodded.

She walked closer before sitting down.

Her nine tails wrapped around her body.

Silver lightning still crawled across her fur as she slowly recovered her Aether.

Damon looked forward.

The tide had grown even larger.

He lifted the bow.

The battlefield became quiet around him.

Then Damon pulled the string.

There was no arrow.

Instead, the wind gathered.

A pale green arrow formed between his fingers.

The moment the string was released...

WHOOSH!

The arrow disappeared.

A second later, the battlefield erupted.

BOOM!

A huge spiral of wind tore through the beasts.

It didn’t simply cut them.

It dragged them together.

The beasts were pulled into the spinning current before being thrown apart.

Damon’s eyes widened.

"So that’s your first Art."

The bow pulsed in his hand.

Damon smiled.

"Wind Sovereign’s Gale."

The attack had created a path through the tide.

Dozens of beasts had been killed.

Others were thrown away.

And before they could recover, Damon drew the bow again.

This time, three arrows appeared.

He released them together.

The arrows flew in different directions.

Then they curved.

They returned toward the center from three different angles.

Damon’s smile widened.

"Interesting."

BOOM!
