Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Divorce... Go to the Civil Affairs Bureau

Still, it was a good thing, so Alex Grant didn’t dwell on it.

"Evelyn Grant? That’s my sister! What happened to her?!"

Hearing the call was from a hospital, Alex Grant’s heart leaped into his throat.

"She collapsed from overwork and was brought to the hospital. Can a family member come over?"

"Yes! I’ll be right there!"

Alex Grant put down his phone and immediately ran toward his teacher’s office.

He knocked on the door and, forgetting about politeness, rushed to say to the homeroom teacher sitting inside, "Teacher! My sister’s been hospitalized, and she’s all alone. The hospital just called and told me to get there right away!"

"But you have class this afternoon! Why don’t you contact your parents?" The homeroom teacher was naturally reluctant to let one of their students miss class.

"I can’t. My mom’s health isn’t good either. If she gets too anxious and worked up, she might have a heart attack."

"Oh, I see. In that case, you should go." The teacher stood up, walked over, and said gently, "I’ll find some time to help you catch up on the lessons you miss."

"Okay! Thank you, Teacher."

Alex Grant bowed his head to the teacher before quickly turning and running for the school gate.

He didn’t dare waste a single moment.

He was terrified of his sister being all alone in the hospital, with no one to look after her or keep her company. ’She must be so lonely!’

Just thinking about it made Alex Grant’s heart ache. He felt so much guilt toward his sister.

If he weren’t so young, and if their father hadn’t passed away so early, how could his sister have been bullied like this by the Sterling Family?

He felt it was time for him to shoulder the burden of the Grant Family. Even if he couldn’t earn money yet, he had to do what he could, and what he should.

When Alex Grant rushed to the hospital, Evelyn Grant hadn’t woken up yet.

A nurse was outside the room, doing her routine rounds.

"Hi, I’m Evelyn Grant’s younger brother! How is my sister doing?"

The nurse glanced at Alex Grant, flipped through the medical chart, and began, "She’s here because of a misca—"

Before she could finish, a doctor who had just walked over suddenly interrupted her.

"She fainted from overwork."

The nurse froze for a moment, but since the doctor had spoken, she said nothing more and turned to leave.

Alex Grant was still young and didn’t suspect anything. He went straight to the doctor and asked, "So what needs to be done for my sister now?"

"She just needs to rest well. It’s nothing serious."

Just as the doctor finished speaking, Evelyn Grant, who had been lying quietly on the hospital bed, stirred!

Alex Grant immediately ran back and took his sister’s hand. "Sis, it’s me! Alex! I’m here!"

But Evelyn Grant had only just regained consciousness, and her thoughts were still muddled.

Her lips moved, her voice barely audible. "Divorce..."

Evelyn Grant remembered that she was supposed to meet Ryan Sterling at the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce.

She hadn’t done it yet.

"What? Sis, I couldn’t hear you. Say it again."

"Div...orce... Civil Affairs Bureau..."

Alex Grant looked completely bewildered. He looked up at the doctor and asked, "What is my sister trying to say?"

"I’m not sure about that, but from the looks of it, she should be fully awake soon. It’s nothing serious." The doctor added a word of advice, "However, as the patient’s brother, you should try to talk some sense into her! She can’t keep working herself this hard. You can’t earn all the money in the world in one day. If her health collapses, then she’ll have nothing left!"

"Okay! I’ll definitely talk to my sister." Alex Grant nodded. "Thank you, Doctor! Thank you for saving my sister!"
