Chapter 167: Chapter 167: You Have No Right to Say That

Of course, this was Julian Sterling’s only bargaining chip.

After all, when he looked back on their past, he realized there were truly no significant emotional moments in his relationship with Evelyn Grant.

To put it bluntly, he had completely neglected her.

Every day after coming home from the office, he would just bury himself in his work.

In his spare time, he would rather chat with Jane Jacobs on WeChat, listening to her talk coquettishly and tell him about the fun things happening in her life, than have any sort of conversation with Evelyn Grant.

The main reason was that, back then, he had been stubbornly convinced that Jane Jacobs was the one he truly loved. He saw Evelyn Grant as the person who had torn them apart, believing it was her fault he couldn’t be with the woman he loved, let alone have a happy marriage.

So, strictly speaking, Julian Sterling had hated Evelyn Grant.

That was why he had been able to do what he did—trying to send her to prison, to make her pay for Jane Jacobs’s life with her own.

"Move."

Ryan Sterling had no time to stand here and argue with him about such useless matters.

Evelyn Grant would not forgive him. That was a fact.

It was impossible, no matter how unwilling he was to admit it.

"I won’t move! What makes you think you’ll win? Evelyn Grant loved me for longer! She poured more of her heart and soul into me! You just saved her once—what right do you have?!"

"Brother, do you really think Evelyn Grant gave up on you just because of this one incident? Think back on everything you’ve done to her in the past!"

The sun doesn’t rise or set in an instant.

Loss is always a gradual thing.

It’s just that no one was paying attention at the time. By the time you decide to care, it’s already too late.

"I did something wrong, but I know that now! I’ve already said I won’t make that mistake again!"

After Julian Sterling spoke, their eyes suddenly met.

A strange tension began to fill the air...

After a few seconds, a corner of Ryan Sterling’s mouth twitched into a smirk.

"Didn’t you say you’ve already won? Then why bother standing here telling me all this?"

Julian Sterling’s words made it obvious that Evelyn Grant hadn’t agreed to a single thing.

"..."

"It’s over for you and Evelyn Grant, brother."

"You’re not Evelyn Grant! You have no right to say that!"

Ryan Sterling relaxed his fists and took a few steps back. "She did love you once, but you dug your own grave, and no one can save you from that. And now, I’m going to deal with my own affairs."

He didn’t have time to keep getting tangled up with Julian Sterling.

"That bastard child of yours is definitely gone!"

The moment he heard those two words, Ryan Sterling’s eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

Without a second thought, he threw a vicious punch right at Julian Sterling.

"Don’t you fucking talk about my child like that!"

Blood instantly trickled from the corner of Julian Sterling’s mouth, and the metallic taste of it filled his senses.

He raised a hand to wipe it away and laughed. "Your child? Weren’t they the product of your own scheming? Ryan, you don’t need to put on this devoted act for me. We all have our own schemes, so what makes you feel so superior?"

"Speaking of which, you’re the one who delivered Evelyn Grant right to me!"

"Yes, I admit I was wrong! But don’t you dare think you’ve won!" Julian Sterling laughed wildly, lowering his voice. "Little brother, remember that screenshot of the text message?"

"..."

"I already showed it to Evelyn Grant! That phone call you got from our mom’s number... it was actually Evelyn Grant who made it."
