"Spare me your hypocrisy! Ryan Sterling might not be sincere, but you’ll always be more disgusting than him!"

It was late at night when Ryan Sterling arrived back in the country.

The airport was deserted, and the echo of his footsteps sounded exceptionally loud.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he strode out of the airport, got into a car, and headed straight for Julian Sterling’s home.

When the car arrived, Ryan Sterling didn’t bother knocking. He gave the door a cold glance and ordered, "Break it down."

"Yes, Mr. Sterling."

In less than five minutes, the door was broken down.

Inside, Julian Sterling wore a complicated expression.

He’d expected Ryan Sterling to return quickly and come looking for him.

But he hadn’t expected him to break the door down!

"Where’s Evelyn Grant?"

"Gone."

Ryan Sterling said nothing more. He gave the two men behind him a look, and they immediately stormed in to search the place.

Julian Sterling watched them tear his home apart, but he wasn’t angry. Dressed in dark green silk loungewear, he leaned against the sofa and raised an eyebrow at his younger brother.

"I never thought we brothers would see the day we’d be at each other’s throats like this."

"This is your doing."

"My doing?" Julian Sterling laughed. "The moment you set your sights on my wife, we were destined for this day! So whose doing is it, really?"

Ryan Sterling narrowed his eyes.

’Judging by his reaction, Evelyn probably isn’t here.’

’She either left on her own or he’s hidden her somewhere.’

’But now isn’t the time to settle scores with Julian. I have to see Evelyn. I have to find out what really happened!’

’The baby... why did she get rid of it...?’

Ryan Sterling turned to leave, but Julian stepped forward to block his path.

"Where are you going?"

"To find Evelyn Grant."

"Why are you still looking for her? Don’t you get it by now? She was already in a bind just because you saved her! She never wanted this baby to begin with, but she couldn’t find an opportunity to get rid of it. She had to send you away before she could go have the abortion!" Julian spread his hands, feigning confusion. "So why are you still looking for her? You claim you love her, so why do you keep making things so difficult for her?"

Ryan Sterling grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the door.

Taking advantage of his height, Ryan Sterling looked down at him, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You’d better hope you had nothing to do with my baby. You’d better hope Evelyn chose to do this herself!"

’Or else, there’s no telling what I might do!’

"Whatever the reason, it’s over between you and Evelyn Grant!" Julian wasn’t the least bit angry; in fact, the smile on his lips didn’t fade at all. "Ryan, you lost! No matter how good you were to her, your time together is up!"

"Whether I lose or not, you won’t be the one to win!"

Ryan Sterling knew full well that Evelyn Grant would never get back together with Julian.

"And haven’t I won now?" He pointed toward his bedroom door. "She... just left a little while ago. She’s been staying here with me this whole time! While you were busy working, while you were calling her over and over! Little brother, why can’t you get it through your head? She’ll never be content to truly end things with me."

’Julian himself believed it. After everything Evelyn had invested in him, she wouldn’t just walk away that easily.’
