I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 740 - 397: The Mother Tree Master Awakens_2
’I’ll have to be more careful from now on,’ Su Ze inwardly cautioned himself.
The Sun God-level experts he’d encountered before had never seen through his disguise, which gave him the false impression that no Sun God could see through it. But now, it was clear that wasn’t a safe assumption.
This Yingxian could clearly see something was amiss.
Su Ze’s disguise came from his own Tier-8 divine skill, "Body Control." It wasn’t a simple disguise but a direct alteration of his physical structure, yet even that had been seen through.
’The altered appearances of the Pope and the others, achieved using Tier-7 Divine Artifacts, would likely stand up to even less scrutiny.’
Fortunately, Yingxian seemed to have no intention of digging into Su Ze’s origins. Su Ze was sure there were plenty of people in the universe disguised as other races; it was nothing to be surprised about.
A moment later, the moonlight glow in Yingxian’s eyes faded, and she spoke.
"He was grievously injured and missed the optimal window for treatment. Curing him now will require considerable effort and a great deal of precious Healing Medicine. The cost will not be a small sum."
As soon as Su Ze heard this, he understood. The man could be cured—it was just a matter of money.
"How much will it cost?"
He still wanted to get a clear price beforehand; he wasn’t about to be taken for a ride.
Although Su Ze had braced himself, the price Yingxian quoted still shocked him—it was nearly the price of a Tier-9 Divine Artifact!
He thought for a moment, then asked, "Can I pay with resources of equivalent value?"
Yingxian nodded, then said, "My Moon Race has always held the Tree Spirit Race in high regard, and we have worked together in the past. I can give you a discount on the fee."
"Thank you."
From the side, Yingxian’s assistant, a young Moon Race girl, came forward to calculate and collect the fee from Su Ze.
In fact, Su Ze had quite a few unsold resources on hand, especially various types of spaceships.
He had acquired a large number of spaceships from his previous battle with the Dou Race and had confiscated many more from the bandits he’d eliminated along his journey.
Su Ze didn’t plan to sell the Moon God-level Spaceships. He had a feeling they would be useful in the future, especially after learning about Blue Star’s current situation... He was planning a future mass migration for the Blue Star Human Race, which would certainly require a vast number of ships.
However, he had no use for Star God-level Spaceships, which were the most numerous in his possession.
Selling too many used spaceships at once would inevitably attract unwanted attention. That was why they only sold a few Star God-level Spaceships each time they reached a Public Planet, leaving them with a large backlog of inventory.
But now, it seemed Yingxian harbored no ill will toward them and even had a favorable impression of the Tree Spirit Race. Therefore, Su Ze offered up a number of Star God-level Spaceships to cover the treatment cost.
Neither Yingxian nor her young assistant asked about the origins of the spaceships. For someone like Yingxian, there was no risk in reselling them.
Once Su Ze had paid the fee in full, Yingxian began her treatment of the Mother Tree’s master.
It was unclear what skill she was using, but a torrent of life energy, incredibly high in level, began to surge from her body.
Ultimately, this life energy coalesced between her brows, forming a crescent-shaped seal of light. From this crescent mark, a beam of life energy so dense it seemed almost solid shot down and into the Mother Tree’s master.
Standing nearby, Su Ze absorbed just a ripple of the residual life energy and felt a sense of comfort wash over his entire body.
This treatment took much longer than those for the patients who had come before him.
As Su Ze waited nearby, he watched the Mother Tree’s master’s complexion improve at a visible rate. Life force burgeoned within his body, and all his dormant organs were reawakened.
After a little over an hour, Yingxian stopped the treatment, a weary look on her face. She gave a few instructions to her young assistant.
A moment later, the assistant returned with some natural medicines and administered them to the Mother Tree’s master.
The Mother Tree’s master’s condition was now completely different from before. Although he had yet to awaken, his breathing was steady, and his body radiated a powerful life force.
"The treatment is finished. He should awaken in a little while," Yingxian said.
"Thank you, Physician." Su Ze expressed his gratitude, stored the Mother Tree’s master away, and then took his leave.
The people waiting in line in the courtyard gave him a few extra glances, seemingly annoyed that one person could take up so much time.
As Su Ze reached the courtyard gate, he heard the young assistant’s voice from behind him: "The Physician is tired today and needs to rest. Everyone, please come back tomorrow."
’It seems treating the Mother Tree’s master really took a great deal out of Yingxian...’ Su Ze didn’t linger and headed straight for the spaceship repair facility.
Ever since discovering that Yingxian had seen through his disguise, he had been on edge, ready at any moment to use the Replacement Skill to swap in the new Dou Yi to take a blow for him.
However, Yingxian hadn’t shown any malicious intent, which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief.
When Su Ze arrived at the repair facility, the spaceship was already fixed, and its control authority had been cracked.
Su Ze immediately became the captain of this Heroic Ship, and he and the Pope promptly returned to the Magic Cube.
Mr. Ya and Lin Hua had already returned long ago.
"How did it go? Was the trip successful?" Su Ze asked.
Lin Hua nodded. "We bought most of the resources we needed and sold off quite a few of our own. Now, everyone has at least one or two of the upgrade materials they wanted."
Su Ze nodded and gave his instructions: "For the next leg of the journey, we’ll continue to fly at a moderately reduced speed. Also, if we pass any Public Planets, even the small ones, we can check out the surrounding area. Take out some bandits. As they say, no good deed is too small.
