I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 739 - 397: The Mother Tree Master Awakens
This time, only the Pope, Mr. Ya, and Lin Hua accompanied Su Ze to Jade Plate Star.
And, of course, the unconscious master of the Mother Tree.
The four of them split into two groups and went their separate ways.
The resources they needed to sell amounted to a significant sum. Splitting up would make them less conspicuous.
This time, they were selling not only the resources they had brought from Zexing but also the spoils from exterminating bandits along their journey.
Fortunately, they also needed to procure a large quantity of resources, so they could trade through bartering, which would be less conspicuous.
Su Ze first inquired at a spaceship repair dock on Jade Plate Star. When he learned they could actually bypass the control authority of a Sun God-level Spaceship, he immediately handed over the Hero for repairs and hacking.
This service alone was incredibly expensive, and Su Ze had to use a massive amount of resources to cover the cost.
He left the Pope to keep an eye on things while he went to the market district to purchase some tonics for nourishing the soul and consciousness, as well as poisons that could damage them.
These were all purchased for Mu Wang.
On Jade Plate Star, which was even larger than Mengxing, Su Ze surprisingly couldn’t find a single upgrade material suitable for himself.
He had no choice but to give up and instead ask around for information on Rank-9 beasts and Super Stars.
Unfortunately, there were no Rank-9 beasts on Jade Plate Star, neither living nor freshly killed.
There was, however, some intelligence regarding Super Stars. But Super Stars were considered a rare resource; some of the major clans controlled a few but would not easily allow outsiders to harvest them.
It was possible to buy pre-harvested Super Star Energy, but the price was exorbitant.
Su Ze hoped to find a wild, undiscovered Super Star out in the cosmos and harvest his fill all at once, but the odds of that were extremely low. It would require heaven-defying luck.
Typically, once a Super Star was discovered, it would be claimed by one of the major clans.
In the end, Su Ze still bought some Super Star Energy. He planned to use it to test the effectiveness of the special chlorophyll that Liou Wenxin had developed.
Su Ze sold off some more resources at various locations and purchased some supplies that would be useful on Zexing. He then took out his reservation token and checked it—there were only about twenty people left in the queue ahead of him.
He had to admit, Physician Yingxian’s healing speed was quite impressive.
With nothing else to do, he headed over early to wait in line.
Physician Yingxian saw her patients in a rather elegant-looking cottage. The courtyard outside was filled with all sorts of flowers and grasses, but these were no ordinary plants—most were Spiritual Plants that could be used for medicinal purposes.
Su Ze presented his reservation token to the Moon Race guard at the gate and was allowed into the courtyard.
He looked around curiously. The decor of the entire courtyard, including the cottage, was quaint and antique, giving it a very refined air.
He had discovered long ago that the Moon Race’s culture seemed to share many similarities with that of the Human Race.
Even the physical appearance of the Moon Race was quite similar to the Human Race. The biggest difference was their skin, which was incredibly pale—so white it seemed to glow. It wasn’t the whiteness of a Caucasian person but rather a lustrous, fluorescent white, with a crystalline, almost translucent quality.
Su Ze didn’t wander about, instead observing the crowd queued up ahead of him.
Most of the people seeking treatment from Physician Yingxian were quite powerful. Nearly all of them were Moon Gods, and there were even a few Sun Gods among them.
Not a single Star God was in sight, likely because the average Star God could not afford the exorbitant treatment fees.
Su Ze had also heard that the cost of treatment from a Moon Race Sun God was extraordinarily high.
Fortunately, he was now quite wealthy. Even if it cost a fortune, as long as the master of the Mother Tree could be cured, he would feel he had fulfilled his obligation.
’If even a Sun God of the Moon Race can’t heal him, then trying anywhere else probably won’t yield any results. At that point, the only option will be to send him back to the Tree Spirit Race’s home world and let their Ancestral God give it a try.’
Physician Yingxian was indeed incredibly fast. Some patients were carried in unconscious and came out full of life and vigor.
For common injuries and ailments, it seemed she could treat a patient in just a few minutes.
Lost in thought, Su Ze found it was his turn before he knew it.
He stepped into the cottage and saw a Moon Race woman dressed in white. The gown, combined with her faintly glowing, snow-white skin, gave her an ethereal, fairy-like aura.
"Physician Yingxian," Su Ze greeted as he stepped closer.
Physician Yingxian gave a slight nod. She sized Su Ze up and, seeing he had no injuries or illnesses, asked:
"Who is it that requires treatment?"
Su Ze took the master of the Mother Tree out from the storage artifact where he had been keeping him.
"A member of the Tree Spirit Race... How unusual." Physician Yingxian’s gaze sharpened, and a beam of light like concentrated moonlight shone from her eyes, sweeping over the master of the Mother Tree.
Like the Moon Race, the Tree Spirit Race had a good reputation throughout the cosmos. They were famously disinclined to conflict and, due to their innate talents, were naturally close to nature and detached from worldly affairs.
Consequently, it was rare for a member of the Tree Spirit Race to be injured in battle. Furthermore, the Tree Spirit Race were quite skilled at healing themselves, so it was very uncommon for an injured Tree Spirit to seek treatment from an outsider.
It was no surprise that Physician Yingxian was a little startled to see an injured member of the Tree Spirit Race. Nevertheless, Su Ze silently broke out in a cold sweat.
Because he himself was currently disguised as a member of the Tree Spirit Race.
Logically, if she hadn’t been surprised to see a member of the Tree Spirit Race walk in, she shouldn’t have been surprised when he brought out an injured one.
Her reaction meant that Physician Yingxian had, in all likelihood, already seen through his disguise.
She might not have discerned his true race, but she had clearly seen that he was not one of the Tree Spirit Race.
