I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 725 - 392: Arrivals from Blue Star (2)
There were also dedicated commercial and industrial districts, and several schools and hospitals had been built as well.
There was even an amusement park, a sprawling complex with every imaginable attraction... except for coin-operated kiddie rides.
This was clearly Die’s handiwork.
The population was also growing at a considerable rate.
In the two-plus years since their arrival, the leadership on Zexing had been encouraging procreation. The long-married couples and newlyweds alike hadn’t been idle, all working overtime to make babies.
However, the population base was still too small. With a mere thirty thousand people, a population boom was impossible in just over two years.
Of course, what concerned Su Ze the most was the increase in power of the evolvers on Zexing.
Coming out of seclusion this time, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that a large number of Star God experts had emerged on Zexing!
Many of his old acquaintances had already ascended to godhood.
Mrs. Yun, Zhou Wenshan, Lin Luo of the Lin Family, Chairman Gu Chengguang’s granddaughter Gu Yue’Er, Ye Jin...
They had all completed their seventh evolution, becoming Star Gods.
In total, Zexing had gained over a dozen new Star Gods!
The Starry Sky Justice Team that Su Ze had always wanted to establish finally had enough members.
Liou Wenxin’s own evolution had lagged behind because she was so focused on her research, but she had still become a legendary powerhouse.
Over the past year, her numerous research breakthroughs had made an outstanding contribution to Zexing’s development.
Liou Wenxin had absorbed nearly all the knowledge the Pope possessed; by now, she could be considered an outstanding evolutionary scientist anywhere in the universe.
Over the past year, she had developed several cost-effective breeding lines for the Hundred-Change Flower and established a highly efficient cultivation program.
What kind of fertilizer best accelerates the Hundred-Change Flower’s growth?
What resources are most effective during each of its growth stages?
What environments are best suited for growing different types of Hundred-Change Flowers?
The answers to these questions and more could all be found in Liou Wenxin’s cultivation program.
This saved Zexing both time and resources in cultivating Hundred-Change Flowers.
It was thanks to Liou Wenxin’s research that every Star God on Zexing was now equipped with a Tier Seven Hundred-Change Flower.
Su Ze, however, hadn’t chosen a Hundred-Change Flower for himself. At his level of power, a Tier Seven Hundred-Change Flower would be of limited use, and Zexing had yet to cultivate a Tier Eight Hundred-Change Flower.
Liou Wenxin, clad in a white lab coat that gave her an intellectual air, walked briskly up to Su Ze and started to chat.
She had grown accustomed to his long periods of seclusion. They discussed his evolutionary progress, and she offered some advice.
Upon learning that Su Ze planned to travel far, she said, "The Emerald Spaceship’s supply of Super Star Energy is depleted. If you get the chance while you’re out, please collect some more. It’s very effective at promoting the growth of the Hundred-Change Flowers."
Su Ze nodded and made a mental note of it.
"Aren’t you going to pick a Hundred-Change Flower to take with you?" Liou Wenxin asked.
Su Ze shook his head. "I’ll wait until you’ve cultivated a Tier Eight Hundred-Change Flower."
There was something else he left unsaid. ’By the time Zexing actually manages to cultivate a Tier Eight Hundred-Change Flower, I might have already become a Sun God.’
’At that point, even a Tier Eight Hundred-Change Flower would be useless to me. I’d need a Tier Nine at the very least...’
’It seems the Hundred-Change Flower and I just aren’t meant to be in this lifetime.’
Liou Wenxin said, "A Tier Eight Hundred-Change Flower has to be evolved from a Tier Seven. If we cultivate one in the lab, you won’t be involved in its growth process. I’m afraid it will be difficult to tame and communicate with by then."
"Then we’ll see when I get back from my trip," Su Ze said nonchalantly.
With an "I-knew-it" expression, Liou Wenxin pulled a small flowerpot from a spatial item and handed it to Su Ze. "I know you’re not interested in the ordinary ones. This is a variant I discovered during the breeding process. It might be suitable for you."
Su Ze took the small flowerpot and saw that it didn’t contain a Hundred-Change Flower, only a pot of rich, dark soil.
He probed with his Perception Tentacles and immediately discovered a seed hidden in the dark soil.
"It’s still just a seed?" Su Ze said, surprised.
Liou Wenxin nodded. "Yes, it should be a mutant strain. An ordinary Hundred-Change Flower Seed will sprout quickly after being watered with a single drop of Evolutionary Liquid. But with this one, I’ve poured in quite a bit of Evolutionary Liquid, and there’s been no reaction at all. It seems to lack sufficient energy.
"Take it with you. See if you can find a resource out there that can make it sprout."
After a moment of consideration, Su Ze accepted the seed.
Liou Wenxin changed the subject. "There’s one more thing I wanted to talk to you about."
"What is it?"
"While you were in seclusion, I combined the characteristics of the Hundred-Change Flower with those of Feng Bqing to synthesize a special, ingestible form of chlorophyll. It allows flesh-and-blood lifeforms to perform photosynthesis, which accelerates their evolution."
Liou Wenxin’s words startled Su Ze. ’Isn’t this what the Tree Spirit Race has been trying to develop all this time?’
’And Liou Wenxin actually succeeded?’
"How effective is it? Can humans use it?" he pressed.
Liou Wenxin explained, "I was inspired by a marine creature called the Green Leaf Sea Snail. This animal eats underwater algae, absorbing and storing chlorophyll in its body, which it then uses to perform photosynthesis.
"The special chlorophyll I’ve synthesized works in a remarkably similar way. Any flesh-and-blood lifeform that ingests it will gain the ability to photosynthesize. They can use this ability to strengthen themselves, accelerate their evolution, and even speed up their digestion of Evolutionary Material."
