I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 704 - 385: Capturing the Star
When they heard that Su Ze was preparing to go to war with the Dou Race, Lin Hua and the others could hardly contain their excitement. They were both thrilled and nervous.
Since arriving on Zexing, they had gradually learned more about the universe and finally understood the plight of the Human Race.
The Human Race didn’t dare operate openly in the universe, forced to hide in the shadows. Even after becoming Star Gods, Moon Gods, or even Sun Gods, they couldn’t reveal their true identities to the public. They could only disguise themselves as other races.
For the longest time, the Human Race experts on Zexing had felt stifled, suppressed for far too long!
Now, hearing they were about to go to war with another race, it was inevitable that they would feel anxious and worried, but what they felt most of all was excitement.
’Finally, a chance to really show what we can do! Suppressing those bandits before was just child’s play. Now we’re going to attack an entire planet. Just thinking about it is thrilling!’
However, the risks involved were also easy to imagine.
When Su Ze and his group arrived on the surface, they saw Mr. Ya battling the newly ascended Star God, Li Yongguan, with a flower perched on his head.
Mr. Ya wasn’t bullying the rookie. With his hands clasped behind his back, he used no defensive skills and launched no attacks of his own. All his offense came from the Hundred-Change Flower on his head.
Li Yongguan also had a Hundred-Change Flower on his head and was struggling to withstand Mr. Ya’s assault.
Although both were Hundred-Change Flowers, those on different evolutionary paths varied greatly in both appearance and abilities.
The Hundred-Change Flower on Mr. Ya’s head was only about the size of his palm. Its ring of petals looked as if they were forged from iron, shimmering with a metallic luster. The edges of the petals were sharp, gleaming sawteeth.
The flower swayed slightly, and its petals flew out in a spiral, slicing through the air and creating a vacuum in their wake.
Li Yongguan’s Hundred-Change Flower, in contrast, was dark and much larger, standing over half a meter tall. From its stem to its receptacle and petals, every part of it appeared thick and bulky.
As the sawtoothed petals flew toward him, the petals of the Hundred-Change Flower on Li Yongguan’s head suddenly drooped, expanding into a shield to block his front.
CLANG!
Following the sharp clang, a grinding sound filled the air. The sawtoothed petals were slicing into the shield-petal, trying to break through.
It was clear the shield-petal couldn’t completely stop the assault; a breakthrough was only a matter of time. However, it bought Li Yongguan enough time to react.
He immediately commanded the flower to abandon the shield-petal, shedding it along with the sawtoothed petal that was attacking it.
Then, he lunged at Mr. Ya like a cheetah.
But Mr. Ya was too fast. He vanished in a flash and reappeared behind Li Yongguan. The moment Li Yongguan turned, countless sawtoothed petals were already flying at his face—a point-blank assault.
Even though Mr. Ya neither attacked nor defended, he could wear Li Yongguan down with his speed alone. He constantly switched positions, allowing the Hundred-Change Flower on his head to strike at Li Yongguan’s various weak points.
Li Yongguan had no choice but to hastily pull down a few more petals to use as shields. This time, however, the moment the sawtoothed petals made contact, they exploded.
This time, it wasn’t a cutting attack, but an explosive one.
Blasted until he was covered in soot and grime, his face scorched black, Li Yongguan hurriedly shouted, "I surrender!"
"Not bad," Su Ze praised. "It seems I’ve underestimated these Hundred-Change Flowers."
Even though he had only witnessed the tip of the iceberg when it came to their uses, Su Ze could already see infinite possibilities in the Hundred-Change Flowers.
"Boss, you’re out of seclusion!" Mr. Ya exclaimed in pleasant surprise.
"Yes. Get ready. I plan to attack that nearby Dou Race contingent. But before we do, we need to draw up a rough plan."
The battlefield is unpredictable, so an overly detailed plan might not be executed as intended. A general outline would be enough.
Immediately, Zexing’s senior leaders gathered for a brief discussion. After settling on a preliminary plan, they each received their assignments and went their separate ways to begin preparations.
Currently, there were a total of twelve god-level experts on Zexing, including Su Ze. Among them, Hei was unable to fight, so the other eleven would all be joining the expedition.
Su Ze ordered Liou Wenxin to equip the other ten, excluding himself, with suitable Hundred-Change Flowers.
In addition, Su Ze also equipped each of the ten with three or more seventh-rank Divine Artifacts.
The standard issue for every god-level expert on Zexing was a seventh-rank hidden weapon forged from a Shadow Stone and a seventh-rank Disguise Divine Artifact. On top of that, Su Ze gave each of them one additional seventh-rank Divine Artifact.
In the year since they had come to Zexing, they had fought numerous small-scale battles and seized a great deal of loot, including a considerable number of seventh-rank Divine Artifacts.
Once equipped with Divine Artifacts and a Hundred-Change Flower, even the greenest of Star Gods would see their combat prowess leap several tiers, making them powerhouses among their kind.
As for those who were already strong, like Lin Hua, Old Waller, and Mr. Ya, they were now nearly unrivaled among those of the same rank.
The primary task for these ten during this period was to build combat synergy with their respective Hundred-Change Flowers and to familiarize themselves with their new Divine Artifacts.
The Pope, meanwhile, had another mission: to work with Su Ze and use his Blood and Flesh Parasite ability on the two Dou Race Star God captives they had captured earlier.
During the half-year Su Ze had been in seclusion, the Pope had already completed his seventh evolution. After emerging, he had followed Su Ze’s instructions and prioritized upgrading his Blood and Flesh Parasite skill.
The Pope’s Blood and Flesh Parasite was now a seventh-rank divine skill, allowing him to parasitize targets up to the Star God level. Under certain special conditions—for instance, if the target was cooperative or extremely weakened—he could even attempt to use it on a Moon God.
Furthermore, the upgraded Blood and Flesh Parasite was superior to its previous version in many ways, such as the degree of control over the host, the effective range, and more.
