I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 700 383: Interrogation King: Die

The transition from the sixth to the seventh rank was a leap across a major realm. Once Blood and Flesh Parasite was upgraded to a divine skill, Su Ze would be able to control Star God-level experts by simulating it. He could even give it a shot with a Moon God.

Next, Su Ze and the others split up to interrogate the Dou Race experts.

Just as the Pope had said, these members of the Dou Race were all brawn and no brains. Every last one of them was a stubborn brute.

Getting them to talk was no easy task.

Lin Hua and the others tried every method at their disposal but came up with nothing.

In the end, it was Su Ze's Shadowless Needle that got results. This eighth-rank Divine Artifact was practically a torture device. After he interrogated four Dou Race Star Gods in a row, two of them finally broke and begged for mercy, while the other two just killed themselves...

The problem was, the information from the two who confessed didn't match up at all. It was impossible to tell who was telling the truth and who was lying.

Su Ze felt that if he continued the interrogation with the Shadowless Needle, more than half of the Dou Race captives would probably end up dead.

He temporarily gave up on interrogating the other Dou Race Star Gods and had Mr. Ya and Lin Hua immediately plunder the Origin Genes from the two who had committed suicide.

Next, he focused his efforts on the Dou Race Moon God.

But even though Su Ze's Shadowless Needle had the Dou Race General howling in agony, the man gritted his teeth and refused to talk.

Seeing this, Old Waller came over and suggested, "Star Lord, perhaps you could let Mrs. Die give it a try."

"Die?" Su Ze asked, surprised.

'She's good at this sort of thing?'

Lin Hua seemed to recall something as well and nodded. "It's definitely worth a try. You've seen how obedient Hei is at the base. That's all Mrs. Die's doing."

Su Ze recalled the terrified look on Hei's face whenever it saw Die. It had been broken in so completely that it wouldn't dare disobey a single command.

"Interesting," Su Ze said with a smile, deciding to go back and let Die have a go at them.

...

Back on Zexing, Su Ze had all the Dou Race captives escorted into the underground base.

They had been transported the entire way inside the Magic Cube, completely cut off from the outside world, so the captives had no idea where they were.

"Die," Su Ze called out, and a small, colorful butterfly materialized out of thin air.

"Master, what can I do for you?"

"Go question these men for me. Find out about their home base, their race, how many people they have, how many experts, their resources... Basically, get any and all valuable intelligence. I'll leave the details to you," Su Ze instructed.

"Me?"

Die paused, stunned. She'd never done anything like this before.

"You don't know how? Just treat them the same way you treat Hei."

"Okay, I'll try."

Although the Dou Race captives were bound, they all looked at the tiny butterfly before them with expressions of utter disdain.

The Dou Race bred no cowards!

They had fought their way through mountains of blades and seas of blood. Why would they be afraid of a tiny butterfly?

"Bring on whatever tricks you have! If I so much as make a peep, may my ancestors cast me out of the Dou Race!" the General sneered.

"Yeah!"

"Well said, General!"

"A true, hot-blooded son of the Dou Race!"

The other Dou Race Star Gods looked invigorated, inspired by their General's heroic bravado.

Su Ze ignored them and looked at Die. "Begin."

Die flapped her wings, scattering specks of starlight that enveloped the Dou Race captives.

Instantly, the eyes of the Dou Race warriors, including the Moon God, went dull as they fell into a stupor.

The seconds ticked by...

In less than three minutes, looks of terror began to appear on the faces of several of the Dou Race Star Gods.

Before five minutes had passed, the area was filled with terrified wails and screams.

The Dou Race experts, who moments before had been so righteously prepared for a heroic death, were now letting out sharp, desperate shrieks.

Their cries were filled with a cacophony of emotions: sorrowful wails, pained groans, hysterical shouts, and low, convulsive sobs...

One of them was clutching his stomach, rolling around on the floor. His brow was deeply furrowed as if he were straining with his entire body, and he kept screaming, "I'm giving birth! I'm giving birth!"

Another was covering his rear, his legs kicking wildly as he screamed, "No! Stay away! Not there!"

Su Ze stared, dumbfounded. He turned to Die. "What in the world did they go through?"

'You little butterfly, what in the world did you do to them?'

'Looking at your colorful little wings... maybe I should have them painted with a picture of Satan? One with his eyes closed.'

Die looked completely innocent. "I don't know, either. I just made them have a dream. It's just... they can't wake up from it without my permission."

"Besides, I didn't create the content of the dreams," she added. "They're extrapolated from the unknown parts of their own subconscious. You could say they are dreams of their own imagining. I merely provided a little guidance."

Su Ze grew pensive.

'There's a limit to the pain you can inflict on a physical body. Even spiritual agony has its limits, at least with my current methods.'

'But the imagination of a sentient being is limitless.'

'The deepest fears are born from the unknown.'

'In their dreams, they experience things they never have before. Pushed to the very limits of their imagination and guided by Die, they conjure up unknown torments, imagining pain far beyond what they can actually endure.'

Finally, Die woke the members of the Dou Race from their dreams, one by one.

The first thing every single one of them did upon waking was break down in tears and beg for mercy.

"I'll cooperate! I'll tell you whatever you want to know! Please, I'm begging you, don't make me go back to that dream..."

"Mrs. Die, I'll call you my own dad, okay? Just please, spare me!"

"Ahh! Why is my lower body still hurting... It's like a phantom pain..."

The last one to awaken was the Dou Race General.

However, the man's earlier death-defying defiance was gone. He was slumped on the ground like a dead dog.

"Mrs. Die, Father Die! Ask whatever you want! I swear I'll tell you everything I know!"

'If the ancestors want to cast me out of the clan, then so be it. After torture like that... even the founding fathers of my race wouldn't have been able to withstand it!'
