I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 600 - 351: Creation Myth (Part 2)
This was clear from the memory he had seen when absorbing the "Meteor Impact" skill—that expert of an unknown level had casually grabbed a handful of planets to smash people with.
A habitable planet with a decent environment was of average value if it hadn’t awakened the power of evolution. Its worth depended mainly on how valuable the life on it was.
For a better planet, like Blue Star which had awakened the power of evolution, its value was determined by the planet’s overall evolutionary level.
A planet like Blue Star, with only a thousand years of evolutionary history, had a low evolutionary level and thus low value—of course, that was ignoring the fact that a rare cosmic species, the Human Race, lived there.
As for those planets with high evolutionary levels, they were rich in resources and naturally valuable.
However, valuable planets were also difficult to defend, as they would be coveted by other powerful experts from across the universe.
Su Ze didn’t know what kind of planet the inheritance had left for him.
He asked directly, "What kind of planet is it?"
The butterfly played coy. "It’s a beautiful planet, full of hope, just waiting for you to develop it."
A bad feeling welled up in Su Ze... ’Full of hope? Sounds more like it’s just broke.’
’And what does "develop" even mean? A primitive planet?’
He suddenly recalled that the ancestors of the three great families of the Western Continent had been tasked with cultivating as many Legendary experts as possible so they could leave Blue Star through an external inheritance. The stated purpose was to have them go "pioneer."
’Could it be that they were sent to that very planet to do the pioneering?’
The butterfly confirmed Su Ze’s suspicion.
"That’s right. They’re the advance team arranged by the poop-scooper. Developing a planet is a huge job, so they were sent to pave the way for you," the butterfly said.
Su Ze was stunned. ’So, does that mean the three Legendary experts produced by the great families, as well as Lin Hua’s Legend, are all on that planet working for me right now?’
"Has that planet awakened the power of evolution? And after I accept the inheritance, will I be immediately teleported there too?" Su Ze asked.
"Whether or not you get teleported is your decision. There’s a set quota for teleports, and you get to decide how to use them."
Seeing that Su Ze was about to ask more, the butterfly said impatiently, "Forget it. It’s too complicated to explain. Just accept the inheritance, and you’ll understand soon enough."
’Fine then. I’ve come this far; there’s no way I’m turning down the inheritance now.’
’I’m curious to see what this inheritance is really all about.’
"Alright, Mrs. Die, let’s begin," Su Ze said.
The butterfly flew above Su Ze’s head and gently flapped its wings. Specks of pollen, shimmering with a strange light, rained down from its wings and enveloped him.
Su Ze immediately felt a surge of energy pour into his body.
His surroundings blurred once more. He couldn’t see anything but his own body and could feel a painful, swelling sensation throughout.
The energy pouring into him was extremely slow, as if it was trying to be as gentle as possible, yet Su Ze still found it unbearable.
He only felt some relief when the energy had spread throughout his entire body and finally began to gather in the area below his navel.
’This seems to be the location of the so-called Dantian.’
Su Ze felt the energy that was still pouring into his body gathering in his Dantian, where it solidified into a golden, solid mass.
’Am I forming a Golden Core? Is my evolution path turning into a cultivation one?’
Su Ze joked to himself, bored.
As more energy flowed in, the "Golden Core" grew larger and larger, soon becoming too big for Su Ze’s Dantian to hold.
Fortunately, just then, the "Golden Core" began to compress, its volume shrinking rapidly and sparing Su Ze from being torn apart from the inside.
But the energy was still pouring in, so the "Golden Core" began to grow again. Su Ze guessed this cycle of compression and expansion would probably continue for some time.
He couldn’t fight it, couldn’t do a thing. All he could do was lie there and wait for the energy transfer to end.
’I thought the inheritance was supposed to be a planet, so why is there a "power transfer" session too?’
He had a suspicion that the energy pouring into him might be related to his "Divine Grace of Evolution" skill.
The Divine Grace of Evolution came from a Divine Blood Crystal and was essentially a Divine Skill Prototype, which meant that even after Su Ze ascended to the divine level, he would still need to upgrade the skill.
And this energy was most likely for upgrading the Divine Grace of Evolution.
Su Ze waited and waited, growing bored. He even had the thought of closing his eyes to rest for a bit.
But just at that moment, a chaotic torrent of information stormed into his mind.
It was raw information, not a memory playback. It contained some images, but also a great deal of other content, including text, diagrams, and more.
His brain felt like it was about to explode from receiving so much information at once. He could only sort through and digest it bit by bit.
Not far from Su Ze, the butterfly muttered to itself sheepishly, "I think I might have overdone it. That’s a lot of information to receive all at once, and some of it he isn’t supposed to know yet..."
"Ah, whatever. He was bound to find out sooner or later. Knowing early will give him pressure, but also motivation. As the inheritor, he has to be able to handle the pressure. That’s right, this is part of the assessment!"
Su Ze couldn’t hear the butterfly’s monologue at all; all his energy and focus were concentrated on digesting the information in his mind.
"So that’s how it is..."
Every now and then, a look of sudden realization would dawn on his face.
And every so often, he’d just mutter a curse: "Damn!"
Many key details in the information he received were vague, but it was enough for him to piece together a rough outline of the entire situation.
