Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1212: Farewell, Dumbledore (2)

Immediately, he realized that Dumbledore’s gaze indeed seemed unfamiliar, as if looking at a stranger.

Dumbledore’s eyes flickered, “Perhaps I remembered incorrectly.”

“Well, do you remember who you are?” he asked.

“Of course, my child, I am Albus Dumbledore, the Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts.” He looked Kael up and down and said with a smile: “Although this might sound a bit arrogant, if you’re a student at Hogwarts, you must have heard my name.”

“Yes, I’ve heard of it,” Kael said, “but our Transfiguration professor is Minerva McGonagall.”

“Minerva… that first-year Gryffindor?” Dumbledore laughed while sitting on a chair conjured by Kael: “You must be joking, but indeed, her talent in Transfiguration is quite good; she could become a renowned master in the future.”

“Then why did you come here?” Kael continued asking.

“I came here by accident,” Dumbledore said calmly.

“No.” Kael shook his head firmly, “You traveled back using a Time Turner to save your sister.”

In an instant, the atmosphere in the barn became tense.

Kael clearly saw that Dumbledore was already holding his wand, gazing intently at Kael.

“This strong smell of alcohol… my child, perhaps you’ve drunk too much tonight, it’s best to rest a bit. How could anyone return to the past?”

“Really?” Kael slightly moved his right hand, confirming that Dumbledore truly didn’t recognize him anymore.

From the previous conversation, his memory seemed to have stopped at when Professor McGonagall first entered school, and he didn’t remember anything afterwards.

Is this the effect of being rejected by time?

Kael felt frustrated, although he had long guessed things wouldn’t go smoothly, he didn’t expect it to be so troublesome, and now Dumbledore was also very wary of him.

Explanations probably wouldn’t be useful; he wouldn’t believe them.

“Then I’ll head back first.”

Saying so, Kael turned and walked towards the door.

One step, two steps, three steps…

He placed his hand on the door and pushed gently.

…

The next second, Kael suddenly turned around.

“Protego Totalum!”

A silvery white shield appeared out of thin air, deflecting a charm coming from behind.

“Attacking from behind… Professor, this isn’t your style.”

“I can only say I’m sorry, my child,” Dumbledore also stood up; although his body was still weak, his gaze was exceptionally firm.

“I don’t know how you know me, but the information you possess could affect my plan. I must make you forget it.

“But rest assured, I won’t harm you.”

“Professor, actually we can talk,” Kael said, “I really have no malicious intent…”

Before Kael finished speaking, another charm came straight at him.

Obviously, Dumbledore didn’t want to hear his explanation.

Helplessly, Kael could only raise his arm.

The Forgetfulness Spell was again blocked by the silver shield, and Kael waved his wand, sending an orange-colored charm directly towards Dumbledore.

“Incarcerous!”

The charm automatically turned into three thick ropes, flying towards Dumbledore’s neck, chest, and legs respectively.

But Dumbledore merely waved his hand, and Kael’s charm disappeared.

Then, Dumbledore vanished into thin air, reappearing behind Kael, pointing his wand at Kael’s head.

Originally, he thought this time he could surely control the unfamiliar wizard before him, but never would he have thought that Kael had also disappeared.

Apparition during a duel?

Dumbledore was taken aback, but at this moment, a fierce gale came from the left, making him temporarily suppress the surprise in his heart, immediately placing his wand in front.

A silver-white barrier blocked the whistling wind blade.

The wind blade was deflected to the top of the barn, neatly slicing through a thick log.

“Dark Magic!” Dumbledore’s face turned even darker.

“No no no, the Head of Slytherin taught me this, it’s definitely not Dark Magic.”

“Horace doesn’t use that kind of magic,” Dumbledore said in a deep voice, lifting his wand again.

“It’s another head; he’s someone you trust the most,” Kael said, deflecting Dumbledore’s charm.

But Kael quickly realized this charm was just to divert his attention; Dumbledore’s real target was behind him.

Several wooden arms emerged from the barn wall; one had unknowingly wrapped around his shoulder, seemingly coated with glue, sticking tightly to him.

“Sectumsempra!”

Kael decisively cut through the wood, stepping forward, trying to distance himself from the vicinity, but before he could act, the ground suddenly shook beneath him, and a stone wall rose out of thin air, reaching the ceiling, completely sealing all routes for Kael.

Soon, the wooden arms swarmed in, piling up layer by layer, combining with the stone wall to tightly enclose Kael.

Dumbledore panted, staggering forward a few steps; he still needed to cast an Apparition Charm to prevent Kael’s escape.

Otherwise, trapping a wizard who uses Apparition in combat would be basically impossible.

But just as he raised his wand, a scorching red flame burned through the wood surrounding Kael, erupting out.

Then came the second, the third… In just a moment, the cage he prepared turned to ashes; Kael emerged unscathed, surrounded by a bright silver shield.
