Chapter 1264: Dream God_3

So, the Invisibility Beast is not so endangered after all. After all, alchemy equipment to detect the presence of Invisibility Beasts has not been invented yet, and most wizards actually cannot perceive the traces of Invisibility Beasts.

Just as they cannot perceive people wearing invisibility cloaks. Not everyone is like Ian, possessing the form of a raven, able to rely on the raven’s true sight to see the Invisibility Beasts.

“It is only in the dream that I watch silently. If it were in reality, I would say anything to catch a few and bring them back for breeding, so their lineage continues endlessly.”

Ian thinks this way not because he is kind-hearted, but because he has always been committed to raising his own magic potion and alchemy materials, achieving the great goal of self-sufficiency.

Teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish; it’s the same principle. While praising his own wisdom, Ian also enjoys the feeling of freely flying in the dream.

He temporarily puts aside many affairs of reality.

Of course, he also feels a slight confusion: this dream is too real, the details too rich, even beyond the scope of his own experiences.

This is an intuition.

And wizard intuition has always been accurate.

Sure enough.

Just as he was flying over a giant baobab tree, a mutation occurred. In the shadows beneath the tree, a cheetah originally lying on a sturdy branch, perfectly blended into the night, suddenly lifted its head. Its eyes, shimmering with a haunting green light in the dark, precisely locked onto Ian in the air.

This in itself was not surprising; animals can sometimes sense anomalies. But what happened next stunned Ian’s dream-consciousness.

“What the hell?”

Just as Ian was bewildered.

That cheetah did not let out a threatening roar or attempt to attack, but instead… started speaking!

A low, raspy voice filled with ancient rhythm and wild strength resonated directly in his consciousness, as if originating from the depths of the earth.

“O strange star, powerful and ancient soul, why do you tread upon this land scorched by the sun? I can feel that your arrival has made our land hotter.”

The tone carried a few hints of inquiry, along with some caution.

“Hmm?”

Ian “paused” abruptly in mid-air, staring in shock at the cheetah under the tree.

Its mouth did not move, yet the voice definitely came from it, or rather, was transmitted through it!

“You… you can speak? This isn’t a ordinary dream?” Ian’s consciousness fluctuated with disbelief.

The cheetah let out a sound resembling a light chuckle from its throat, its deep green eyes seemingly able to see through everything: “A dream? Yes, and no. This is the dream of the grasslands, the net connecting all life. And you, foreign traveler, your light shines like a flame in the night upon this net, disturbing many sleeping entities.”

It elegantly stood up, took a step on the branch, its form fluid and full of power.

“We have noticed you. Your power system is completely different from ours, yet it contains the sun’s blessing… and… the dust of time? A very interesting combination.”

“Who are you?” Ian asked warily, the consciousness in the dream slightly coalescing.

“Who I am does not matter,” the cheetah’s voice was distant, “You can think of me as a voice of this land, an observer. What matters is why you’ve come, star traveler? Your arrival has stirred ripples in this ancient spiritual net. Are you a mere passerby, or… a harbinger of change?”

Its gaze seemed to pierce through the dream, staring directly at Ian’s essence: “You carry the scent of transformation, and… the aura of danger. You have touched the currents of time you shouldn’t have, disturbing entities that ought not be disturbed…”

Ian was silent for a moment, realizing this was no simple dream, but a form of contact with a higher-level local presence. He cautiously replied, “I mean no offense. I am merely a lost traveler, caught in an accident, thus ended up here. I am seeking the way home.”

“Are you the local deities?”

Ian probingly asked.

The other did not deny.

Indeed.

He has been discovered by the divine spirits.

And the reason for being discovered by the local divine spirits, as analyzed through the cheetah’s words—it was the sun’s blessing that exposed him because he came too hotly.
