Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Berserker Class (part 2)

The battlefield seemed to disappear around him. There was only one thing left in his vision, the boss.

Kyle’s mouth slowly opened. A smile appeared across his blood-covered face.

It was not the smile of an adventurer.

It was the smile of a predator that had finally discovered its prey.

"That..."

His voice was hoarse.

"...is strong."

The greatsword trembled in his hands.

Kyle’s body leaned forward.

The Berserker inside him had completely awakened. He no longer cared about the city.

Kyle suddenly disappeared.

"What?"

An adventurer nearby barely had time to react.

Kyle sprinted across the battlefield, his speed was astonishing.

He passed several soldiers before they even realized someone had moved past them.

"Who was that?!"

"Wait!"

"That’s the Black Vanguard’s porter!"

The boss suddenly noticed him. Its enormous red eyes turned toward Kyle.

It roared.

Kyle grinned.

Then he jumped, the greatsword rose above his head.

"RAAAAAAAH!"

Kyle brought the weapon down with all his strength.

BOOM!

The impact exploded across the battlefield.

The boss’s enormous body was forced downward.

Its knees buckled, and the ground beneath its feet cracked.

Everyone nearby froze, the adventurers fighting the boss stared in disbelief.

Kyle landed in front of the boss, and slowly raised his head.

The boss looked down at him.

For the first time since the outbreak began, the monster’s expression changed.

It was no longer facing an ordinary human.

Kyle attacked again, his greatsword swept horizontally.

The boss raised one arm to block.

CLANG!

The collision produced a deafening sound, and the boss’s arm was pushed backward.

Its massive body staggered.

The surrounding adventurers stared.

"Impossible..."

The word escaped from one of the adventurers as he stared at the scene before him.

The boss monster suddenly pulled its arm backward and unleashed a savage counterattack.

Its enormous claw swept toward Kyle with enough force to crush a heavily armored warrior.

Kyle’s eyes widened.

He tried to raise his greatsword, but he’s a little slower.

BOOM!

The claw struck him directly. Kyle’s body was launched into the air like a ragdoll.

He flew across the battlefield, smashing through the ground before rolling several times. Dirt and shattered stones were thrown into the air as his body finally came to a stop.

"Kyle!"

Someone from the Black Vanguard shouted.

Marcus’s expression changed.

Even the other adventurers momentarily stopped fighting.

The attack had been terrifying. Everyone had seen the power behind it.

A normal Level 15 adventurer would have been killed instantly.

For several seconds, there was no movement.

The dust slowly began to settle, then a hand emerged from the crater.

Kyle pushed himself upward.

His clothes were almost completely torn apart. Blood covered his body, dripping from his forehead, running down his arms, and soaking the remains of his armor. One of his shoulders hung slightly lower than the other, and several wounds covered his torso.

Yet Kyle did not seem to notice any of it. He stood, slowly.

His head remained lowered.

The surrounding adventurers stared at him in disbelief.

"He survived that attack?"

"How is he still standing?"

Kyle raised his head, his face was covered in blood.

Then he smiled.

A wide, frightening smile.

"Hahaha..."

A low laugh escaped his throat. The pain was there, he could feel his bones aching.

He could feel the blood flowing from his wounds.

But instead of weakening him, the pain was making something inside him explode.

The Berserker’s power surged through his body once again.

Kyle slowly lifted the greatsword. The weapon was covered in blood, his own blood.

He looked toward the monster.

"You..."

Kyle’s voice was barely recognizable.

"...hit me."

The boss roared.

Kyle’s smile widened.

"Good."

He took a step forward. With every step, his aura seemed to become more violent.

The adventurers watching him instinctively backed away.

Something about Kyle had changed.

He no longer looked like a human adventurer.

He looked like a beast that had been wounded and was now preparing to tear apart whatever had hurt it.

The boss charged, and Kyle charged as well.

The two collided once again.

CLANG!

The greatsword smashed against the boss’s claws.

Kyle was pushed backward.

But he immediately stepped forward again.

He swung.

The boss blocked.

Kyle swung again.

And again.

And again.

Every strike became heavier.

The boss’s claws were forced farther backward with every collision.

The creature roared and tried to overpower him.

Kyle roared louder.

"RAAAAAAAH!"

His greatsword slammed into the boss’s arm.

CRACK!

The creature staggered.

Kyle twisted his body and struck its ribs.

BOOM!

Several scales shattered, and blood erupted from the wound. Making the boss stumbled backward.

The adventurers surrounding the battlefield could only watch.

"He’s getting stronger..."

One of them whispered.

"He isn’t slowing down."

Another adventurer clenched his sword.

"No..."

His eyes widened.

"He’s getting stronger every time he gets hurt." 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

That was the terrifying truth.

The boss suddenly raised both arms. A terrifying amount of power gathered within its body.

Kyle’s instincts screamed.

The creature swung downward.

BOOM!

The ground exploded.

Kyle jumped backward. The attack missed him by a narrow margin, but the shockwave still sent him flying.

He rolled across the ground and came to a stop. His greatsword landed several meters away.

Something inside him snapped.

The Berserker class skill he had never knew existed suddenly surfaced in his mind.

He did not know how he knew its name.

He simply knew.

A skill belonging to his class. A skill designed for moments exactly like this.

His fingers tightened.

"Berserker..."

The power inside his body erupted.

"Blood Rampage."

BOOM!

A violent aura exploded from Kyle’s body.

The ground beneath his feet shattered.

His muscles tightened as an overwhelming surge of strength flooded through him. His heartbeat became deafening, each pulse sending another wave of power through his body.

The blood covering him seemed to ignite, and his eyes turned completely wild.

The boss roared and charged.

Kyle disappeared.

"What?!"

Several adventurers lost sight of him.

A moment later, Kyle appeared directly in front of the boss.

The creature barely had time to raise its claws.

Kyle swung.

BOOM!

The greatsword smashed into the boss’s defense.

The impact forced the enormous monster backward.

Before it could recover, Kyle attacked again.

BOOM!

Its scales shattered.

Again.

BOOM!

Its arm was knocked aside.

Again.

CRACK!

A deep wound opened across its chest. The boss roared in pain and desperately swung its claws.
