Chapter 68: Chapter 68: The Blood-Frenzied Warrior

Kyle did not dodge. Instead, he stepped directly into the attack.

The claws tore across his body.

Blood exploded from his wounds.

But Kyle did not stop.

Instead, his strength surged even higher. He grabbed the boss’s arm with one hand.

The surrounding adventurers froze.

Kyle was holding the arm of the enormous boss monster.

The boss tried to pull away. But it could not.

Kyle’s muscles trembled as he forced the creature’s arm downward.

"You..."

Kyle’s voice was almost a growl.

"...are mine."

He raised his greatsword, the boss’s eyes widened.

Kyle swung with everything the Berserker class had given him.

"RAAAAAAAH!"

SLASH!

The greatsword tore through the boss’s defenses.

It sliced through the creature’s chest, cutting deeper into its body.

The Berserker skill continued burning through his body. His remaining strength gathered into one final attack.

The boss raised its claws.

Kyle raised his sword.

For one brief moment, the battlefield became silent.

Then Kyle swung.

BOOOOOOM!

The greatsword struck the boss from shoulder to waist.

The enormous body froze. A deep cut appeared across its torso.

The boss’s red eyes slowly lost their light.

Its massive body swayed, then it collapsed.

BOOM!

The ground shook as the boss monster fell.

The three strongest adventurer groups stood frozen as they stared at the corpse.

The monster that they had been unable to kill.

The monster that had required the combined strength of the strongest adventurers in the city just to contain.

It had been killed by a single person.

The battlefield remained silent for several seconds.

Nobody seemed capable of processing what had just happened. The enormous boss monster lay motionless on the ground, its blood slowly spreading across the earth. The same creature that had forced the strongest adventurers in Lufast City to join forces had been defeated by a single man.

Then someone shouted.

"THE BOSS IS DEAD!"

The silence shattered.

"WE DID IT!"

"THE BOSS HAS BEEN DEFEATED!"

"WE WON!"

Cheers erupted across the battlefield.

Soldiers raised their weapons into the air. Adventurers shouted with excitement, some collapsing onto their knees from exhaustion while others embraced their companions. The pressure that had been hanging over everyone since the outbreak began finally disappeared.

"The boss is dead!"

"Lufast City is safe!"

"Long live the adventurers!"

The cheers grew louder.

Even those who had witnessed Kyle’s battle from beginning to end could not help but feel their blood surge with excitement. They had spent the entire battle believing that the boss could only be killed by Pervun, the number one adventurer of Lufast City.

Yet at the final moment, someone else had stepped forward and accomplished what everyone thought was impossible.

Marcus stood among the Black Vanguard, his sword still in his hand.

His eyes remained fixed on Kyle.

He had known Kyle as nothing more than their porter.

A quiet man who carried their supplies, collected monster materials, and rarely complained about his work.

Yet that same man had just killed the boss.

Kyle tried to remain standing, he did not want to fall.

Yet his body had already reached its limit.

The red haze that had covered his vision was slowly fading. The burning sensation in his blood was disappearing, replaced by an overwhelming exhaustion.

He looked toward the dead boss.

For a moment, he wondered if he had really been the one who killed it.

The feeling of becoming something other than himself.

Kyle’s expression became complicated.

He lowered his head.

"So this is..."

His voice was barely audible.

"...the power of a Berserker."

His vision began to blur. The voices around him became distant.

The cheering sounded as though it were coming from somewhere far away.

He could barely distinguish the words anymore.

Kyle smiled faintly. He had done it, and survived.

But more importantly, he had discovered something about himself.

There was a monster inside him.

A monster that became stronger through blood and pain.

A monster that grew more powerful the longer he fought.

His knees finally gave out.

The greatsword slipped from his hand and struck the ground.

CLANG.

Kyle’s body fell beside it.

The last thing he heard was the deafening roar of thousands of voices celebrating their victory.

The last thing he saw was the enormous corpse of the boss lying before him.

Then darkness swallowed his consciousness.

That day, in the middle of Lufast City’s greatest dungeon outbreak, a new warrior was born.

A warrior who fought through pain.

A warrior who grew stronger through blood.

A warrior whose rage could turn wounds into strength and fear into power.

From that day onward, the name Kyle would no longer be associated with a mere porter.

The battlefield had given him a new name.

A name that would one day spread throughout the world.

The Blood-Frenzied Warrior.

----

Three days passed after the latest group of adventurers entered the dungeon.

During those three days, Ragnar’s dungeon continued operating almost entirely on its own. Adventurers came and went, some reaching deeper areas while others retreated after realizing that they had gone too far. Some monsters were killed, some traps were triggered, and several treasures were taken, but the dungeon continued to recover its losses through the steady flow of intruders.

Most importantly, the Soul Points continued to increase. Ragnar had been watching the number rise every day.

Now, as he sat upon his obsidian throne, the system window appeared before his eyes.

[Soul Points: 76]

He stared at the number for several seconds.

Then a grin slowly appeared on his demonic face.

"I finally have enough."

He leaned forward on his enormous obsidian throne, his four-meter-tall body making the throne room feel smaller than it actually was. The greatsword resting against his back shifted slightly as he moved, but Ragnar barely noticed it anymore. His attention was completely focused on the system.

"Fifty Soul Points for the second floor."

He remembered the first time he had seen the requirement.

Back then, fifty Soul Points had seemed incredibly expensive.

Now, he had seventy-six.

He had waited days for this moment, and after everything his dungeon had gone through, he finally had enough resources to expand it.

Ragnar raised his hand.

"System."
