Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 64: Silver Wolf, Black Vanguard
Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Silver Wolf, Black Vanguard
The Crimson Fang did not give it time to recover.
They attacked as a single unit. The shield warrior kept the monster’s attention.
The swordsmen attacked its legs and arms. The archer targeted its eyes and joints.
The mage used her spells only when she had a clear opening.
Unlike the inexperienced group that had attacked earlier, they understood exactly how to fight a stronger opponent, and they fought with this ogre many times already.
They slowly dismantled the ogre.
After some time, the ogre finally dropped to one leg.
"Finish it!"
Rick roared.
Every member attacked at once.
The final strike pierced the ogre’s throat.
The enormous monster froze.
Then its body collapsed heavily onto the battlefield.
BOOM!
For several seconds, the nearby soldiers stared.
Then a cheer erupted.
"The ogre is dead!"
"The Crimson Fang killed it!"
The victory gave the defenders a much-needed boost.
But nobody celebrated for long. There were still two mini bosses, and both were moving toward the city.
The second strongest adventurer group immediately stepped forward.
Their name was Silver Wolf.
Unlike the Crimson Fang, Silver Wolf specialized in fighting fast and unpredictable monsters. Their members were particularly skilled at coordinating against enemies that were difficult to pin down.
Their leader pointed toward the four-armed monster.
"We’ll take that one."
The four-armed mini boss was already tearing through a group of soldiers.
Four blades moved simultaneously. One soldier blocked the first strike.
The second blade cut through his shield, the third struck his armor.
The fourth sent him crashing into the dirt. The Silver Wolf members moved immediately.
"Don’t fight it head-on!"
Their leader shouted.
"Everyone scattered!"
The group scattered around the monster.
One swordsman attacked from the front before retreating.
An archer fired from the side, a spear wielder stabbed at its legs, and a mage launched Wind Cutter toward its back.
The four-armed monster spun around, attempting to strike whoever came closest.
But the adventurers refused to remain in one place.
Every time it attacked, they moved.
Every time it exposed itself, they counterattacked.
"Now!"
The fight was brutal, but unlike the first group, Silver Wolf maintained control.
Little by little, the four-armed monster was pushed backward.
Finally, their leader stepped forward.
"Everyone!"
The group surrounded the mini boss.
"Finish it!"
Their skills erupted simultaneously.
The four-armed monster let out one final roar before collapsing beneath their combined assault.
Its massive body crashed onto the battlefield, sending dust and dirt into the air.
For a moment, the nearby soldiers simply stared.
Then another cheer erupted.
"Silver Wolf killed it!"
"That’s the second mini boss!"
"Only the spider remains!"
The morale of the defenders rose once again. Two of the three mini bosses had already fallen, and the ordinary monsters were steadily being pushed back by the combined strength of the soldiers and adventurers.
However, there was still one mini boss.
The giant spider.
And more importantly, the boss monster was still advancing toward the city.
The remaining mini boss was already moving across the battlefield, its armored legs crushing bodies and scattering soldiers as it searched for another target. Thick strands of webbing shot from its mouth, trapping several soldiers and pulling them toward its enormous body.
"Attack it!! Don’t let that thing reach the wall!"
A commander shouted.
Several adventurers immediately turned toward it.
But before they could organize themselves, another group stepped forward.
This time, the reaction was different.
The soldiers moved aside almost instinctively.
The adventurers surrounding the battlefield recognized the group immediately.
"Wait..."
"Is that them?"
"They’re here?"
A young adventurer stared at the approaching group with wide eyes.
At the front walked a tall man carrying a large shield and a word.
His expression was calm, almost completely unaffected by the chaos surrounding him. Several experienced adventurers recognized him immediately.
"Marcus."
"The Black Vanguard."
"They’re the fourth-ranked adventurer group in Lufast."
They had also built their reputation by accepting difficult quests that other groups refused.
At the rear of the group walked a man carrying several large bags filled with supplies.
His equipment was simple compared to the others, and unlike the core members, he did not appear to be preparing for battle.
It was Kyle.
The giant spider was still rampaging across the battlefield when the Black Vanguard finally reached it. Marcus raised his sword and gave a series of quick orders, assigning each member a position around the creature.
The spider immediately responded with a barrage of webs, forcing the group to constantly reposition themselves while they searched for an opening. Their attacks were deliberate rather than reckless.
The swordsmen focused on its legs, the archer targeted its eyes whenever the creature exposed them, and the mage conserved her remaining mana for moments when a spell could cause significant damage.
At the rear of the formation, Kyle had no intention of joining the fight. As far as everyone knew, he was simply the Black Vanguard’s porter, responsible for carrying supplies and collecting the valuable materials left behind by monsters.
Nobody knew that he had already undergone a Berserker Class Change. Kyle had deliberately kept that information hidden, and he had no reason to reveal it now. The battle was being handled by the group’s actual fighters, while his job was to collect whatever they killed.
Kyle calmly watched the battle from a safe distance, occasionally moving toward a fallen monster whenever there was an opportunity.
He quickly gathered valuable materials, magic stones, monster cores, and anything else that could later be sold or used by the group. He carefully placed everything into the bags he carried, making sure not to interfere with Marcus and the others.
The fight against the giant spider lasted for several more minutes.
The Black Vanguard gradually destroyed its ability to fight. They crippled several of its legs, shattered portions of its armor, and eventually exposed the softer flesh beneath its abdomen. When Marcus finally saw the opening, he immediately gave the order to attack.
"Now!"
Every member of the Black Vanguard attacked simultaneously.
The spider desperately attempted to defend itself, but it was already too badly injured. Marcus’s sword pierced through its abdomen while several arrows struck its exposed body, and the mage used the last of her remaining mana to unleash one final spell.
The giant spider released a shrill scream before collapsing heavily onto the ground.
BOOM!
The last mini boss was dead.
