Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 63: Crimson Fang
Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Crimson Fang
A blazing sphere flew forward and struck a cluster of goblins.
BOOM!
The explosion sent several bodies flying.
The mage immediately staggered.
His face had become pale.
"Mana almost gone..."
Another mage beside him nodded.
"Same here."
They had used most of their mana during the opening attack.
They had done their job, now it was time for the melee fighters.
"Front line!"
The commander roared.
"Move!"
The city gates opened, a massive group of soldiers charged out.
Adventurers followed behind them.
The veteran swordsman drew his blade and rushed forward with the rest.
The young adventurer hesitated for half a second before gritting his teeth and following.
The two forces collided.
Steel struck claws, spears pierced monster bodies, swords chopped through goblins and wolves.
A shield-bearing soldier blocked a beast monster’s charge before the warrior behind him thrust his spear into its chest.
"Power Strike!"
A swordsman shouted.
His blade flashed downward and crushed a goblin beneath the force of the attack.
Beside him, an archer fired repeatedly.
"Rapid Shot!"
Three arrows flew almost simultaneously.
Two struck a wolf.
The third pierced the eye of another monster behind it.
A healer standing farther back raised her staff.
"Healing Light!"
A wounded soldier’s injuries began closing.
She immediately moved toward another injured fighter.
"Kill all of them!"
The battlefield became chaotic.
There were no longer clear formations.
Soldiers and adventurers were fighting shoulder to shoulder while the monsters attacked from every direction.
A wolf lunged toward the young adventurer.
He raised his sword.
The creature slammed into him. He was knocked backward and nearly fell.
The veteran swordsman appeared beside him.
His sword flashed through the air, cutting the wolf across the neck before it could pounce again. Blood splattered across the ground, and the veteran kicked the corpse aside before turning his attention toward the larger battlefield.
"Don’t freeze!" he shouted again. "If you want to survive an outbreak, keep moving!"
The young adventurer nodded hurriedly and tightened his grip around his sword. He looked around and realized that the battle had already become far more chaotic than anything he had experienced inside a dungeon.
There was no narrow corridor to control the enemy, no safe corner to retreat toward, and no small group of monsters that could be dealt with one at a time. Hundreds of creatures were spread across the battlefield, while soldiers and adventurers fought them in every direction.
Then a deafening roar came from the left.
The ogre had finally broken through the first defensive formation.
Its massive stone club swept across the battlefield, forcing several soldiers to scatter. A shield warrior was struck directly and sent tumbling across the ground, while two other soldiers barely avoided being crushed beneath the club.
"That thing is ours!"
A loud voice suddenly rang out. Several adventurers turned toward the source.
A group of men and women wearing matching armor rushed forward.
They were one of Lufast City’s well-known adventurer groups, but they were not among the strongest. Their members had good equipment and considerably more experience than ordinary adventurers, yet the confidence in their movements quickly disappeared when they approached the ogre.
"Surround it!"
"Keep its attention!"
"Attack when it swings!"
The group spread out. The ogre roared and raised its stone club.
"Now!"
Several adventurers charged simultaneously.
One swordsman activated Power Strike and struck the ogre’s leg.
Another attacked its side. An archer fired directly toward its face while a mage launched a Fireball.
For a brief moment, their combined attack looked effective.
Then the ogre moved. Its enormous arm swung downward.
BOOM!
The ground exploded beneath the impact.
The swordsman who had attacked its leg was thrown several meters away. Before the others could react, the ogre stepped forward and swung its club sideways.
CRASH!
Two more adventurers were sent flying.
"Fall back!"
The group’s leader shouted. But the ogre was already upon them.
It grabbed one adventurer with its enormous hand and slammed him into the ground before swinging its club toward another.
The mage desperately tried to cast another spell.
"Fireball!"
The flames struck the ogre’s chest.
The monster barely reacted.
Less than twenty seconds after the group had engaged the mini boss, their formation had completely collapsed.
Several members were already down, and the survivors immediately retreated.
"Run!"
The leader screamed.
Nobody argued.
They had gone in believing that they could defeat a mini boss through teamwork.
Instead, they had barely survived twenty seconds.
The ogre roared behind them and raised its club again, but a group of soldiers rushed between them, forcing the monster to focus on a new target.
The retreating adventurers looked back with pale faces.
"That wasn’t a monster we could handle."
"No..."
Their leader swallowed.
"That thing is on another level."
The exchange had been witnessed by several powerful adventurers.
Among them were the leaders of the strongest adventurer groups in Lufast City.
One of them stepped forward.
"We’ll take the ogre."
The adventurers around him immediately recognized the insignia on his cloak.
"The Crimson Fang..."
Whispers spread through the battlefield.
The Crimson Fang was currently the top 3 adventurer group in Lufast City. Its members had fought countless monsters and completed numerous dangerous quests.
Unlike ordinary adventurers, every member of the group possessed at least two combat skills, and several of their strongest members had mastered advanced techniques that allowed them to fight monsters far beyond the level of ordinary soldiers.
Their leader, a tall swordsman named Rick, drew his greatsword.
"Don’t let it reach the wall."
The members of the Crimson Fang moved together.
The ogre noticed them immediately.
It roared and charged. Rick didn’t retreat.
"Shield!"
A massive warrior stepped forward and raised his shield.
The ogre’s club slammed into it.
BOOM!
The warrior’s feet dug several meters into the ground, but he held.
"Now!"
Rick moved, his sword flashed upward.
"Heavy Slash!"
The blade struck the ogre’s arm, cutting deeply through its flesh.
The monster roared and swung its other hand. Rick ducked beneath the attack.
An archer immediately fired.
"Rapid Shot!"
Three arrows struck the ogre’s exposed shoulder.
A mage followed.
"Ice Spear!"
A massive spear of ice pierced the monster’s thigh.
The ogre staggered.
