GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2522: Suicidal Legion.

Chapter 2522: Suicidal Legion.

The curse has created a situation where if he is to continue living, he must guard the Ocean of Blood and prevent it from being taken by anyone.

The meaning and duty of the curse were clear to him as soon as he tried to probe it. This was to ensure that he would know his duty.

After learning of his situation, he remembered what the giant had said before it died. He also remembered how the god of justice had guarded the Ocean of Blood for many years and how the church of justice hunted killers for so many years.

His face fell as he said, “So not only do I not win, I also have to guard the Ocean of Blood. This must be why he said that even gods would not mess with the Ocean of Blood right now.”

It was clear to him that he was going to die if he tried to take the Ocean of Blood. But that only made him pause for a while.

He had paused to gain a full understanding of his situation and the curse. After gaining a complete understanding of his unfavorable situation, he went ahead to take the Ocean of Blood.

As he reached out to take it, the feeling of impending doom assaulted his senses. It felt as if he was surrounded by crushing weights about to collapse on him. But he didn’t stop.

He touched the Ocean of Blood. There was no rejection, and he didn’t need to do much to gain control of it. Whatever the requirement was to take control of the Ocean of Blood, he had completed it, so he could take it away.

However, the Ocean of Blood was too large. It would take a long while for him to absorb it into his body.

The process of absorbing the Ocean of Blood could be interrupted, as seen by the fact that the half god has caught up to him. But there was nothing he could do about it.

He couldn’t physically take the Ocean of Blood away, or he would die. He had to absorb it here and now and hope that no one shows up to interfere.

It is either this, or another clone comes to take the Ocean of Blood away. But doing that will expose the existence of their clone and also expose the location of the clone because the clone will still face the same problem of not being able to absorb the Ocean of Blood quickly.

There is no way that carrying a large object like the Ocean of Blood won’t draw attention. So a clone coming to take the Ocean of Blood away will only bring its own set of problems. The best solution is to absorb the Ocean of Blood right here while preventing others from stopping them.

Concerning the half god of killing, Legion-3 has already gone to stop him. Legion-3 was the one who released the Blood Sacrifice divine ability when Legion-2 became trapped. He also sensed the half god coming and went to stop him before he could interrupt Legion-2.

The half god of killing has created a new divine body. This divine body is a humanoid being made of blood, similar to Legion-3’s body. The two of them are also about the same height, at 10 meters tall.

The half god isn’t a god and isn’t the vessel of a god, so the Invisibility Shield divine ability worked on him. Legion-2 was able to sneak up on him without being discovered.

Unfortunately, even though the half god was only a godling, he still had the support of the god of disaster. The god of disaster had used the Disaster Averting divine ability on him. So the attack that Legion-3 struck him missed and hit the ground.

Legion-3 had formed a blade of blood, which he enhanced with all of his divine abilities and used to attack the half god. Even though they were both godling killers, one attack was all that was needed to severely injure the half god.

However, Legion-3 made a silly mistake in the process of using the blade of blood to attack. He did the most unbelievable thing and missed the attack. The attack struck the ground and created a large ravine.

But things got worse from there because the half god noticed the large ravine and was able to understand that he was being attacked by an enemy, even though the Invisibility Shield divine ability should have affected his mind.

The half god still couldn’t see Legion, but he was able to calculate their location based on the direction of the attack. Then he attacked and even managed to strike Legion-3 in the chest.

Legion-3 was fine because of the Aegis Shield, but the fact that he was attacked had a greater impact on him. He was surprised by the turn of events and got more surprised when the half god began looking around warily for them.

He said, “Who are you? Show yourself if you dare?”

Legion-3 didn’t listen to him. Despite the setback, he didn’t give up because there was a lot at stake here.

He circled back around the half god to attack him from the back. Unfortunately, this still didn’t work because the half god had now become aware of their existence and could sense them.

The half god kept turning to face him, no matter what direction Legion-3 attacked from. And even when he used ranged attacks, the half god was able to sense danger without seeing the attacks and dodge them.

The worst part was Legion-3 constantly making silly mistakes. This was frustrating because he could cut a falling mustard seed into pieces, but he couldn’t seem to hit a target that was 10 meters tall and many times larger than a mustard seed.

The only silver lining in this dark cloud was that Legion-3 managed to delay the half god of killing. He failed spectacularly at killing him, but he succeeded in preoccupying the half god until Legion-3 successfully absorbed the Ocean of Blood.
