Chapter 2523: Third Guardian.

After the Ocean of Blood entered Legion-2’s body, the curse surrounding him couldn’t hold back anymore. The invisible layer crushed him to pieces and killed him.

The invisible layer itself didn’t disappear after Legion-2 died. It reappeared as a large white piece of fabric and continued to wait for the Ocean of Blood to reappear after Legion-2’s death. But the Ocean of Blood didn’t reappear.

After a second without the Ocean of Blood, the white fabric began to disappear. This was because it had lost the anchor and target.

Without the Ocean of Blood and Legion-2, the curse couldn’t exist anymore. It was at this point that the god of guardians finally noticed that something was wrong.

Legion-2 isn’t like his vessel, which the god of guardians could see through his eyes. He had only made the arrangement for the power of his authority to help Legion-2 protect the Ocean of Blood.

And in the case that Legion-2 was defeated, the curse will transfer onto the person who defeated Legion-2 and make them guard the Ocean of Blood. If there is more than one person who worked together to defeat Legion-2, the curse will jump onto the closest one.

His arrangements were supposed to be foolproof. This is clear by the fact that he was able to use it to trap the god of justice for so many years.

The god of justice had escaped at the end of the day, but that was because many gods had worked together to destroy his arrangements. His arrangement should have remained functional this time because he had already warned off the other gods.

Unfortunately, his arrangement was destroyed in less than ten minutes since Legion-2 became the new guardian. And just like the last time when his arrangement was destroyed, he didn’t discover it until it was too late.

The god of guardians was angry that the Ocean of Blood had been taken away again. He angrily burned his divine energy and used it to forcefully maintain the large white fabric. Not only that, but he also expanded the white fabric into the surroundings.

He was using this method to scan the place where the Ocean of Blood was and catch the person responsible for taking it. Ideally, the person who took the Ocean of Blood should still be around. After all, it has only been one second since the Ocean of Blood was taken.

To be honest, the god of guardians didn’t expect to catch anyone. He expected that anyone who stole from him would run away as soon as they stole the Ocean of Blood. So he was surprised when the white fabric caught onto someone.

He didn’t know who the person was, since he didn’t have a vessel to percsi for him. But he knew that the person had a divine body, which meant that they were either a godling, a subordinate god, or a god.

He didn’t care about their identity anyway. He just cursed them and made them look for the Ocean of Blood, or be tortured day and night until they find it.

He didn’t care about who he cursed because he was in a safe and secure location far away from anyone. He can’t leave his place of hiding easily, but no one can easily reach him either.

So if the person he cursed is a god, the god won’t be able to seek him for revenge or to kill him to eliminate the curse. The person will have to do what the curse wants, or their divine body will be crushed little by little every day until they die.

Only a god that has managed to fuse completely with one pathway and absorbed all of the power in the divine flesh in their pathway can hope to break his curse.

This and the fact that a god that has fused completely with the authority of their pathway can resurrect as long as no one else becomes the god of the pathway is why he moved to get the god of killing killed before the god of killing could complete the fusion with the Ocean of Blood.

The irony of the situation is that the god of killing that he tried and failed to kill has now become the guardian cursed to look for the Ocean of Blood. This happened because the half god had gone to look for the Ocean of Blood after Legion-3 left.

When Legion-2 successfully absorbed the Ocean of Blood and died, Legion-3 had no more reasons to continue to humiliate himself trying to kill the half god of killing.

He transformed into the divine body of the pathway of telepathy and left through the Mindscape. As he did, he muttered with anger, “I have never been so humiliated. It was as if I had become an imbecile.”

He was angry that instead of killing someone who shouldn’t be able to see him, he made a fool of himself. Actually, he wanted to keep trying to kill the half god, but he sensed danger, so he left.

A second after he left, a white piece of fabric spread rapidly in size and covered everything in the area. The half god of killing was in the area, so he was blanketed by the white fabric.

Once the white fabric touched him, it shrank onto his body and covered every inch of him. Then it disappeared and became a second but invisible skin on him.

The Disaster Averting divine ability tried to save him. It tried to make the white fabric miss him, but its power was destroyed by the white fabric. This sealed the half god of killing’s fate.

After he sensed his situation and realized that he had been cursed to search for the Ocean of Blood and protect it from anyone trying to take it, he fell to his knees and wept.

His voice was full of sorrow as he cried out, “How low have I fallen? Is this just to humiliate me? Are you laughing at me right now?”
