Chapter 533: Chapter 362: Fierce Underground Battle, Cyborg

THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!

A dense volley of energy beams slammed into the barrier, sending ripples across its surface. Alina’s face instantly turned pale, and a trickle of blood escaped the corner of her mouth.

"PFFT!" Jian Yi grunted as an energy beam grazed his left shoulder, kicking up a spray of blood.

Although his keen senses had allowed him to avoid a fatal blow, he was still wounded.

Song Ling’Er’s sniping was also severely limited. The enemy’s heavy power armor had astonishing defensive capabilities, making it difficult for her bullets to land a killing blow.

"Dammit, these guys are nothing like the grunts from before!" Liangzi’s heart pounded in his chest as he peeked out from behind a broken stone pillar, watching the scene unfold.

Wu Liangchen’s brow furrowed. The enemy’s numbers and firepower far exceeded their expectations. If they continued this head-on fight, they would suffer heavy losses, even if they won.

’This isn’t working!’ A cold glint flashed in Wu Liangchen’s eyes. ’I have to take out their commander!’

He quickly recalled the underground structural map Iron Rat had given them, as well as the layout of the ruins.

"Jian Yi, hold them off as long as you can! I’ll be right back!" Wu Liangchen said in a low voice.

"Got it!"

Schiller, in his haste to transport troops, had used engineering bots to forcefully excavate a path. Because of this, the tunnel Wu Liangchen and the others had used to enter was still intact.

Wu Liangchen also remembered that the tunnel had numerous branches on the way in; there might be another way out.

And as long as he could circle around to the surface, he was confident he could kill that persistent bastard.

With that thought, Wu Liangchen took a deep breath. He shot forward with the agility of a cat and, after a few quick leaps, vanished from the battlefield.

With him gone, the pressure on Jian Yi and the others instantly intensified. Fortunately, the ruins offered plenty of cover, allowing them to barely hold on.

Meanwhile, Wu Liangchen had already dashed into the tunnel.

It was pitch-black inside, filled with sharp rubble and slippery moss. Some sections were so narrow he could only crawl through. But for Wu Liangchen, this was no great challenge. He moved between the rock walls like a gecko, his speed unhindered.

Soon, he reached the first fork in the path. After a moment’s thought, he unhesitatingly chose the path on the left.

Not only that, but at every subsequent fork he encountered, Wu Liangchen chose the left path.

Some of the tunnels had collapsed or were too narrow for a person to pass through.

When he encountered such situations, Wu Liangchen would simply punch his way through, shattering any obstruction.

In this way, Wu Liangchen’s advance was not slowed in the slightest.

Finally, after several minutes, the faint sounds of voices and machinery drifted from up ahead.

Wu Liangchen slowed his breathing and cautiously peeked his head out.

In a relatively open area, Schiller stood before a makeshift command console, directing the battle via a holographic projection. Beside him, in addition to a few personal bodyguards, was the Beacon who had provided technical support earlier.

"Excellent, keep them suppressed! I want them to be crushed, little by little, in despair!" Schiller let out a neurotic laugh as he watched the projection of his forces steadily advancing.

Wu Liangchen’s eyes narrowed. He pulled out a gun he had picked up on the battlefield and, without hesitation, pulled the trigger on the distant target.

"PFFT!"

Blood blossomed.

The Beacon next to Schiller suddenly stiffened. He looked down in disbelief at the new bloody hole in his chest.

A single bullet had silently entered from his back, precisely shredding his heart.

The light in the Beacon’s eyes quickly faded as his body slumped to the ground.

Not only that, but a bullet struck Schiller as well. Fortunately, his reaction was fast enough that he managed to dodge the fatal shot in the nick of time; the airflow from the passing bullet merely sent his glasses flying, shattering them.

"Who’s there?!" Schiller’s expression changed drastically.

His answer was the shadow of a fist, moving at unbelievable speed!

"WHAM!"

Wu Liangchen’s figure appeared before Schiller like a phantom, and he landed a solid punch squarely in his gut.

Schiller felt an irresistible force slam into him, as if he’d been hit by a battering ram. His body doubled over like a shrimp as he coughed up a mouthful of blood, flying backward to crash violently against the rock wall behind him.

"Protect the Director!" the surrounding bodyguards finally reacted, roaring as they raised their weapons.

But Wu Liangchen was faster!

The Qi and Blood in his body boiled like molten mercury, and a golden light flowed beneath his skin. He looked as if he had transformed into a golden-bodied Arhat!

"Get out of my way!"

With a thunderous shout, Wu Liangchen thrust both fists forward. A violent wave of power, like a raging tsunami, swept out from him.

The few bodyguards who tried to stop him were sent flying by this force before they could even scream. Their bones were shattered, their fate unknown.

But thanks to the bodyguards’ interference, Schiller had managed to gasp for breath and get back to his feet.

His once-refined face was now twisted with madness and brutality.

"You dare to hurt me? I’ll kill you!" As he roared, Schiller’s body began to undergo an astonishing transformation.

His skin split and peeled away like tattered rags, revealing the cold metal skeleton and hydraulic systems beneath.

Muscle fibers were torn apart, replaced by high-strength alloys and complex mechanical structures. His arms were the first to change, his hands rapidly deforming and expanding into two enormous, gleaming hydraulic pincers!

The entire process took only a few seconds. The once-human Schiller had become a terrifying, half-man, half-machine monster!
