Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1516 - 100ft tall main body!

Chapter 1516: 100ft tall main body!

From MC’s Perspective:

The following day,

I stepped outside early in the morning and began searching for the ancient graveyards. The old man hadn’t mentioned their exact location, but I knew the core area contained such a place.

The wanted criminal was supposedly hiding there. I gathered my thoughts and pressed forward.

It didn’t take long to reach a wider, more open area. I used the system to check if this was the ancient graveyard.

At the same time, I marked my path to avoid getting lost. As time passed, I covered more ground. Surprisingly, no dark tree roots appeared.

Still, I was certain the 10th-Order Monster hadn’t given up its chase. As I ventured deeper, the landscape grew more ominous.

An hour later,

I searched further into the area and stumbled upon a gigantic tree, over 100 feet tall.

Its shadow stretched hundreds of meters, and its trunk was so massive it could rival the size of several large trees combined. The trunk’s circumference was enormous.

As I stared at the dark tree roots, an uneasy feeling crept over me. The system had been silent for some time, but suddenly, its voice echoed in my mind.

[Ding! Warning]

[Host is standing in front of a 10th-Order Multi-Eyes Monster]

I froze in place, petrified. I hadn’t expected the giant tree before me to be the 10th-Order Monster. I had unwittingly stumbled into its territory.

Keeping my face neutral, I tried not to react. But the ground beneath my feet began to vibrate. I could sense the dark tree roots moving toward me.

My eyes remained fixed on the massive tree, wondering if its red eyes would appear. Despite its menacing presence, the tree seemed almost normal, except for its piercing gaze.

[Ding! Warning]

[Prepare to face the attack]

The mechanical voice rang in my mind again, and my expression shifted.

“Gravity Domain!”

I cast the magic spell, and a dark sphere enveloped me with a booming sound. At that moment, dark tree roots surged from nowhere, attempting to surround me.

But they collided with the sphere, which was darker and more solid than before, a testament to the power of a Level-9 Magic Spell.

Boom!

The roots struck the sphere but failed to penetrate it. The sphere held firm. It was my first time using this spell to counter an external attack.

Boom! Boom!

The dark roots continued their relentless assault on the sphere. I felt my mana depleting rapidly; this spell required an immense amount of energy.

More importantly, I was only fighting the roots, not the monster’s main body.

Swoosh!

I vanished from the spot, retreating into the Gregor Mansion. The dark sphere dissipated, and the roots slammed into the ground where I had stood.

Suddenly, the giant tree opened its eyes. Hundreds of thousands of red eyes appeared across its surface.

From the control room of the Gregor Mansion, I watched the scene unfold on the control mirror. I was horrified.

A tree, 100 feet tall, covered in countless eyes, what kind of monster was this? Was it truly a 10th-Order Monster, or something even worse?

I had come here to find the ancient graveyards, but instead, I’d wandered into the monster’s lair. The spot where I’d stood was now swarming with dark tree roots.

The monster was clearly trying to trap me again. I resolved to use my magic spell against the tree itself.

Swoosh!

I reappeared outside. Before the roots could attack, I cast another spell instantly.

“Repulsive Force!”

A powerful wave of repulsive energy burst from my body, striking down the nearby roots. The monster’s main body was a few hundred meters away. I began rushing toward it.

Swoosh!

The dark roots emerged from the ground, lunging at me. Using the system, I dodged each attack with precision.

In the blink of an eye, I closed the distance to the Multi-Eyes Monster. When I realized its main body was within my spell’s casting range, I stopped.

Raising my hand, I cast another spell.

“Gravity Blast!”

A wisp of gray spell energy shot toward the monster’s main body. Suddenly, hundreds of thousands of red eyes appeared on the tree.

AaahhhHHh!

An overwhelming force struck my mind, so sudden and intense that I nearly collapsed. Thinking quickly, I decided to retreat.

Swoosh!

My body vanished, reappearing in the hall of the Gregor Mansion.

Outside,

Boom!

The Gravity Blast hit the tree’s main body, but only a faint cracking sound followed. The attack had little effect.

The 10th-Order Monster, now irritated, had allowed a human wizard to strike its body.

But the prey had disappeared, and it seemed content to wait for his return. The red eyes flashed before vanishing, and the area fell silent.

Inside the Gregor Mansion,

A splitting headache overwhelmed me. The pain was so intense that I clutched my head and collapsed to the floor, writhing in agony.

A few minutes later,

I regained some control, pulled out a few healing potions, and drank them in one go. The relief was immediate, though the headache lingered faintly.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep on the floor. As time passed, the pain gradually faded.

By evening, I opened my eyes. Touching my head, I felt only mild discomfort, much better than before.

My thoughts were clear again. The attack must have been a mental assault; those red eyes were far from ordinary. Hundreds of thousands of them covered the 100-foot tree.

I returned to the control room and stood before the control mirror. The outside world had grown dark. With no other choice, I decided to wait until morning.

Outside,

The 10th-Order Monster uses its magic ability to search for its prey. It doesn’t know how the prey appears and disappears.

This is the first time it has encountered such a human prey. Curious to uncover the answer, it has never witnessed such magic abilities before.

As time passes, it fails to achieve any breakthrough. However, it is certain the human wizard will reappear in the morning.

So, it closes its red eyes afterward.
