Chapter 1496: Part 2: Aethel Society

From MC’s Perspective:

Bran heard his father’s words. He was surprised. He knows it’s not easy to take down society people. So he agreed with his father’s decision.

“Alright, you guys should leave now,” John said.

“Who is going to operate this?” I asked.

“My son knows. You just have to protect him from the dangers,” John replied.

I nodded to him before entering the small golden airship.

Bran greeted me before starting to operate the vehicle. The vehicle rose from the ground and appeared in the air.

Then it started flying towards the destination.

John watches them leave the city. Until the airship exits the city wall, he watches them. Only then did he shift his attention back to the staff who betrayed him.

Meanwhile,

Those who were injured had consumed healing potions after gaining consciousness. But they were not in a position to move around.

They needed urgent care to address their bone injuries. If not, they need a long rest. Which was difficult in the current situation.

They can only call for help. One of them tried to take his digital device. He is none other than the old man who spoke earlier.

The black airship continues to fly across the sky. The Young Master Bran is busy operating the vehicle.

On the other hand, I have been observing the surroundings. I saw how the city looked at night.

Unlike other rich people, he was polite and was busy operating the vehicle. I had thought he would cause problems. He was silent.

Morning time comes. Bran looked tired. Because he is driving nonstop. We have already crossed two more cities because of it.

Now there are only 5 cities left between us. I never expected the airship could travel this fast.

Then I used the system probe function on him earlier. I found out that he has awakened magic related to the machines.

This was the first time I saw someone with such magic. And I was impressed. It’s like modern-day puppetry. But it was not puppet magic.

Talking about puppet magic. I recalled getting that container. I didn’t see what was inside so far. Now, I can’t enter the Gregor Mansion. I had to protect this person.

So I have decided to check it out later.

“Mister, where are you from?” Bran asked.

He is feeling tired. But he doesn’t want to stop anywhere. He wants to reach Willow Peak City as soon as possible.

“Unfortunately, I can’t disclose the details. If you want, you can take a rest after setting it on autopilot mode,” I said to him.

Bran was disappointed then he understood the reason. He then put the flight mode on the autopilot and began to sleep there.

In the autopilot mode, the speed was maintained at a normal constant speed.

I continued to enjoy the scenery. In the daytime, the places are visible. He could see one or two travellers on the ground.

They are heading to the next city. He couldn’t believe that his travel was faster. If he hadn’t agreed to the mission, then he would have wasted days on the road.

More importantly, I’m happy that I don’t have to enter the remaining cities. Each of the cities was weird with different operating rules.

Some of the cities had bad intentions as well. Now, I’m safe from all those. At the same time, I’m thinking about the Aethel Society.

My gaze turned toward Bran, who was sleeping, resting his head in his arms. I have asked him earlier. He told me the big truth.

The Aethel Society is more of a hidden organisation. There are many hidden organisations in the world.

They won’t operate boldly in daylight like the academies and other wizard organisations.

Their activities were hidden. But the problem with the Aethel Society was something different. They belong to the Dark Faction.

They were expecting to make Evil Artefacts. They recruit awakened wizard seeds with related magic.

Their total strength is unknown to this day. And why are they after Bran Tristan? He could understand the reason.

Because Bran has awakened magic related to the machines. But he already has a teacher. So he can’t join some other evil organisation, like the Aethel Society.

I didn’t expect to come across such an interesting wizard force on this trip. I’m sure whatever the organisation is it won’t be above the mage union.

I’m the wizard seed of the Mage Union. I wonder whether my identity would deter them. But I’m not planning on revealing it.

If they tried to attack me again, then I won’t hold back with a magic spell. I hope there won’t be any Supreme Wizards and above.

A hint of seriousness appeared in my eyes.

If such a thing happens, I can only call for help from the Silver Tower. But everything will be fine once we reach Willow Peak City.

I will part ways with Bran Tristan and would mind my own business then.
