Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 384: Black Water Opens it Door.

Chapter 384: Black Water Opens it Door.

It had been a day since the purge had begun, and many weaker humans could not help but be scared. Even the Mantis Men that were previously happy and filled with confidence could not help but be scared.

The death toll had increased to more than one hundred.

And from the Crimson Arc Guild members’ actions, it seemed they had yet to complete the purge.

Taverns and inns were empty.

Fewer people walked on the street.

Even those that were confident enough to walk on the street had to look over their shoulders continuously. Their hearts pounded heavily against their chests like war drums.

Who knew what crazy action the Crimson Arc Guild might try again?

Thus, no one was safe.

The lively central street that had once been filled with shouts and laughter had become strangely cold.

Even whispers had become softer, as if speaking too loudly could attract a blade.

However, just as everyone thought the same killing would continue again, shocking news spread throughout Mantis Town.

’Black Water has opened its door.’

When the news spread among the people, at first, nothing happened. The street was strangely quiet, but then people began to gather in twos and threes, whispering.

Slowly, people walked toward the Black Water building.

Truth or lie.

Many could not wait to find out.

For many that risked their lives to come to Mantis Town, they could not afford to wait any longer.

Some had come because the rumors said Black Water could provide almost anything, as long as the price was right.

In front of Black Water, it was strangely quiet.

Devoid of anyone.

The building stood silently in the center of the street, its open entrance looking both inviting and dangerous.

Many people stopped a distance away, unwilling to be the first to step inside.

After the purge, no one wanted to accidentally walk into another trap.

Slowly, a young man and woman arrived with their faces filled with fear and confusion. They had all heard rumors about Black Water and how terrifying it was.

"I do not think this is a good idea," the young man whispered. "We should leave. This might be a trap."

The young woman with disheveled hair stared at the open entrance for a second, and a flash of determination appeared on her face.

"We will not know if we do not try," she whispered. "Besides, this is our last hope."

Her voice trembled slightly, but her steps did not.

Without waiting for her partner, she walked with firm steps into Black Water. Seeing this, the young man sighed heavily and followed.

In the Black Water lobby, a beautiful young woman stood behind the counter.

"Welcome to Black Water. How may I help you?" Celene asked with a warm smile.

Hmm?

The young woman was stunned.

She had not expected to see a beautiful lady behind the counter. From what she had gathered, she expected to see a skeleton behind the counter.

Still, she recovered quickly and returned a smile.

"I heard I can get anything I want from Black Water. Is that true?" she asked slowly, afraid to provoke the power behind Black Water.

"Indeed," Celene nodded. "As long as you provide the required beasts and information, you will surely get what you want."

Receiving the confirmation, the young woman’s eyes brightened, and she moved closer to the counter. Behind her, her partner could not believe his ears.

Three minutes later, the couple left Black Water with their faces still reeling with shock. They had bet everything on Black Water, but they never expected a positive result.

They held a small healing portion that the young man kept staring at as if it was treasure.

Behind them, more people who had been watching from a distance widened their eyes.

It was true.

Black Water was truly open again.

On the second floor, Thoren read the latest intelligence with shock written on his face.

"Who would have thought my first customer would give me such a surprise?" he whispered softly.

The message was about the Horned Lizard Clan and the delicate balance between them and the Scorpion Men.

"With this, I can change my plan," he mused.

Previously, he wanted to slowly grind the Scorpion Clan until they yielded to his bidding, but now, he did not have to take such a laborious route.

The Horned Lizard Clan had been suppressed for a long time.

They feared the Scorpion Men, but they also hated them.

Their position in the Crimson Dunes was not weak, yet they had never dared to openly tear their faces with the Scorpion Clan because the cost was too high.

But if someone else created a crack first, that balance might shift.

Thoren’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He had planned to use force.

Now, this information had handed him another blade.

On the lobby, it was no longer empty.

People came in and out with bright smiles plastered on their faces.

Even the Mantis Men were not excluded. Those that could not speak the human language correctly found members of their clan to translate for them.

With more people exchanging for resources with Black Water, the news was no longer rumor but reality.

At the back of an inn, two young men stood in the shadows, talking in low voices.

"Who would have thought Black Water was not a lie but the truth?" one of them whispered. "What should we do now?"

"What do you mean what should we do?" his partner asked, a deep frown appearing on his face.

"Do not think the Crimson Arc Guild is no longer hunting us. If you want to throw your life away, do it without implicating me."

Just thinking about how he had to hide like a rat just to escape from the chase of the Crimson Arc Guild sent a shiver down his spine.

Many that were even close to them were implicated. Many were killed, and those lucky enough were locked in the dungeon.

With such a lucky escape, he did not have any thought of experiencing it again.

"So, are you going to abandon the guild mission?" his partner asked with a frown.

"Abandon the mission?" he scoffed. "Many of my friends have died for this useless mission. We risked our lives and fired the signal, but what did we get? Hmm? Nothing."

"The guild abandoned us. They left us for dead."

"If that is not enough for you to come to your senses, then you deserve whatever happens to you." He looked at his friend from head to toe as if he was looking at a fool.

"After this, we do not know each other. I am no longer a member of the guild," he said decisively and departed, leaving his dumbfounded friend.

With the wealth of Black Water, why would he have to risk his life for a guild that would abandon him?

Even a fool would know what to do.
