The whole reason he had been so fixated on building the Great Tomb was for its ability to develop its own consciousness, gather Soul Energy, and spontaneously generate Undead of the Skeleton Race. Who the hell would have guessed the system would be so scummy and only give him half the Introduction.

Everything was indeed automated, but damn it, none of it was under his control. Neither the summoning nor the deployment of the Undead was up to him.

Li Ziyu felt like a total sucker.

'But it was already built, and the resources were already spent. What could he do? He couldn't just tear it down, could he? Even if he did, he wouldn't get the resources back.'

'I'll just have to live with it. I'll just treat it as a new defense tower to beef up the Fortress's security.'

He could still try to find ways to exploit the Great Tomb's functions and explore its other aspects. However, since it had just been completed, Li Ziyu had no immediate ideas and decided to study it more slowly later on.

According to the information in his mind, the Great Tomb's spirit could grow continuously by absorbing ambient Soul Energy from the air. There wasn't much Li Ziyu could do to help with that.

Just as he emerged from the Great Tomb, the Fox Maidens came running over with great news: they might have found a Soul Crystal!

"A Soul Crystal? You really found one? Where is it?" Li Ziyu was overjoyed to hear the Fox Maidens' words and asked hurriedly.

The Soul Crystal was the last thing he needed to upgrade the stronghold into a Fortress. He never expected such a double blessing today; not only had he completed the Great Tomb, but he'd also received news about the Soul Crystal.

Seeing Li Ziyu so happy, the Fox Maidens also broke into smiles, understanding that the Soul Crystal must be incredibly important to him.

"Master, please don't get too excited. We're not sure if it's really a Soul Crystal. It's just a guess, only a guess!" Spirit Maiden stressed cautiously.

Li Ziyu waved his hand dismissively. The last time with the Death Breath Crystal, Spirit Maiden had also said it was just a guess, but it turned out she had been right. He was fairly certain it would be the same case with the Soul Crystal this time.

'Even if what they found isn't a Soul Crystal, that's fine. As long as it's a material, it has value. Even if I can't use it myself, I can give it to Liu Xingxing and Zhang Peng. And if they can't use it, I can trade it to other Transmigrator City Lords. It'll be valuable one way or another.'

The Wraith Mountain Range was currently teeming with Undead, and there were even more of them excavating Skeletons deep within the mountains. Yet with so many Undead around, none had managed to discover any Soul Crystals.

Seeing Li Ziyu's reaction, Mei Ji stepped forward to explain that the Fox Maidens hadn't actually discovered the Soul Crystal themselves. The information came from one of the other Ghosts. If that Ghost hadn't mentioned it, they would never have recalled that something resembling a Soul Crystal might exist in the Wraith Mountain Range.

The Ghosts had lived in the Wraith Mountain Range for countless years. They couldn't leave the range, but they could travel freely within it, so they were familiar with every corner of the mountains. This very familiarity was why the Fox Maidens hadn't thought of it themselves.

Li Ziyu wanted a Soul Crystal, but since the Fox Maidens had never seen one, they assumed it had to be some kind of rare and wondrous treasure. This led them to overlook things that were right under their noses—a classic case of not seeing what's right in front of you.

They had started by asking the Ghosts for help. With so many of them, surely someone would have a clue. But to their surprise, after asking around for a long time, it seemed no one had ever seen a Soul Crystal.

Then, just a short while ago, a Ghost had suddenly approached them with a piece of information. They didn't know anything about Soul Crystals, but they did know about *crystals*. And deep within the Wraith Mountain Range, there were indeed hidden crystals.

Furthermore, these crystals weren't like normal ones; they emitted a faint, hazy glow. If the Ghosts had still been alive, they would have mined such glowing crystals as treasures. But now that they were Ghosts, the crystals were useless to them—something merely to be admired.

The Ghosts had discovered these crystals while idly wandering through the mountains. With this reminder, it suddenly dawned on the Fox Maidens that they had seen those crystals before, too.
