Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress

Chapter 311 166: Sneak Attack from Behind 2

  • Next Chapter

The camp was in chaos. The goblins couldn't use their flesh-wall tactic. When they clashed with the Giant Tusked Boars, the casualties were far greater than the last time. Countless goblins were sent flying or trampled to death, and their lines were instantly torn apart.

The goblins had no time to worry about their comrades' lives. They didn't run. Instead, they brandished their weapons and charged the Giant Tusked Boars, throwing themselves forward one after another in a fearless display.

The Giant Tusked Boars were just the beginning. As their charge succeeded, the Desert Wolves followed close behind, their long, dark shadows trailing them as they lunged at the goblins.

At the very rear, hidden in the darkness, came the Skeleton Short Bowmen, scurrying forward in small steps. With a bow in one hand and three arrows in the other, they didn't waste words upon seeing a target. They simply fired. The SWISH SWISH SWISH of arrows was constant, their firing rate incredibly fast. Many goblins were struck down before they could even react.

Because they were being ambushed from the rear, the Lizardmen and the Headhunter Race couldn't reinforce the goblins immediately, leading to even greater goblin casualties.

"The Headhunter Race and the Lizardmen are useless to us! Damn it, send in the Bear Goblins! Take out those Undead Beasts!" The Goblin Commander glanced back and saw that the rear had already descended into chaos.

This wasn't what they had agreed on. The goblins were only supposed to block the initial charge. The Headhunter Race and Lizardmen were then supposed to launch an attack and eliminate the charging enemies. But now, they were all busy fighting the Undead that had suddenly burst from the ground, showing no intention of helping.

The Goblin Commander couldn't just let the Giant Tusked Boars and Desert Wolves slaughter his subordinates like this. If this continued, he'd be a general without an army. As a commander with no one under his command, his fate would be grim—he knew all too well how brutal things were within the goblin ranks.

Since he couldn't count on the Lizardmen or the Headhunter Race, he had to rely on his own forces. The goblins in the Vanguard Army were elites. Besides the regular goblins, there were also some High Level goblins who could put up a fight against the Undead!

The Vanguard Army alone had 200 Bear Goblins. These guys were the pillars of his force. The Goblin Commander hadn't even been willing to deploy them to block the Giant Tusked Boars' attack earlier, but with the battle turning sour, he had no choice but to commit his strength.

Receiving their orders, the Bear Goblins set out. The moment they stepped onto the battlefield, the goblin morale soared. The goblins, who had been showing signs of faltering, suddenly seemed like they'd been shot full of adrenaline. They started howling, fierce expressions appearing on their faces. No longer thinking of escape, they launched attacks on the surrounding Alien Undead.

Over two meters tall, broad-shouldered and thick-waisted, and wielding Metal Weapons, the Bear Goblins truly stood out like cranes among chickens amidst the crowd of short, green-skinned creatures. They were impossible to miss. Whether it was a Skeleton Giant Tusked Boar or a Skeleton Desert Wolf, neither was a match for a Bear Goblin one-on-one and would be quickly dispatched.

After the 200 Bear Goblins entered the battlefield, the tide of battle turned. First, they boosted the goblins' morale, then they began carrying out decapitation strikes on isolated Alien Undead. They were much smarter than normal goblins, often picking off the easiest targets.

Seeing the Bear Goblins succeed time and time again, the other goblins' spirits rose even higher. They were overjoyed. 'This isn't a losing battle anymore,' they thought. 'This is a complete steamroll! And goblins are best at steamrolling!' Their morale was sky-high.

In the darkness far away, the Dark Skeleton emerged halfway from the shadows. Gazing at the distant camp, he sensed that the Soul Fires of the Skeleton Beasts were being extinguished at an accelerated rate. Some big guys had appeared on the battlefield.

'Interesting.'

The Dark Skeleton fully emerged from the shadows, and the other few Alien Skeletons turned to look at him.

"Let's go take a look."

The Dark Skeleton said to the other Alien Skeletons through the Soul Network. Donning a black robe and gripping his Reaper's Scythe, he walked forward. He appeared to be moving slowly, but with every step he took, he covered a great distance, as if teleporting.

He was a high-ranking Tattooed Undead. The other Alien Skeletons looked to the Dark Skeleton for leadership and hurriedly followed him.

Nearing the camp, the Dark Skeleton stopped and silently observed the situation.

'Hmm... looks like there are some decent ones here.'

He sensed some unusual life auras within the camp—goblin, Headhunter Race, and Lizardman. This piqued his interest somewhat. The Dark Skeleton had also found the reason why the Skeleton Beasts' Soul Fires were disappearing so quickly.

'It would have been better if the Master had sent the Ox Demons,' he thought. 'Just the Giant Tusked Boars and Desert Wolves are clearly struggling. They're fine against ordinary Warriors, but when it comes to dealing with these big guys, they come up short.'

"Power, Constitution, Speed, Ox Demon—you four go take out those big guys. Don't let them continue. We can't afford to lose too many Wild Beasts, or the Master will be angry." The Dark Skeleton pointed at the Bear Goblins in the camp as he spoke to the four Tattooed Skeletons.

Having received their orders, the four Tattooed Skeletons immediately got up and headed toward the camp.

Inside the camp, the Bear Goblins were a terrifying force, leading the common goblins to block the attacks of the Frenzied Skeleton Giant Tusked Boars. They had even launched a counterattack, pushing the battle line outward.

They were getting cocky. 'Who needs those shitty Lizardmen and Headhunter Race? We goblins can win this battle on our own! These Skeleton Beasts are nothing!'

Just as they were basking in their own satisfaction, four figures emerged from the darkness.
