Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 312 - 166: Sneak Attack from Behind 3
Hm?
’Undead? Only four of them. Hah, what good are four Undead?’
’Are they the commanders of these Wild Beasts? We’ve forced them to take the field themselves. It seems if I can just take care of these four Undead, victory will be ours.’
A Bear Goblin at the front lines thought to himself as he swung his Wolf Fang Club and charged straight for the Alien Skeletons.
’He actually dares to charge us alone. I don’t know whether to call him brave or stupid. Back in the underground, we killed far too many of his kind.’
The Soul Fires of the four Tattooed Skeletons flickered with utter disdain. With a blur of motion, the Speed Skeleton had already shot forward.
’How did one of the Undead suddenly disappear?’
The Bear Goblin’s vision blurred. A moment ago there were clearly four Undead, but now only three remained. He froze for a second but didn’t overthink it, continuing his charge toward the three Undead.
"Ah...?"
He was just a few steps away from launching his attack and had just let out a furious roar when his vision suddenly swayed. He saw a headless back. That headless body continued to run forward a few more steps before stumbling and crashing to the ground with a THUD, its Wolf Fang Club clattering away.
’Whose body is that? Why does it look so familiar?’
Confusion filled the Bear Goblin’s mind as his vision faded to black and his consciousness dissipated.
The Speed Skeleton landed gracefully on the ground. He flicked the Bone Saber on his right arm, shaking off blood that hadn’t even touched it, then sheathed the blade. Without a single glance at the dead Bear Goblin, he raised his head to survey the battlefield, already picking his next target.
’That’s it?’
’Weaker than me. Lousy Speed, lousy Defense Power.’
The three Tattooed Skeletons behind him were not surprised. The Speed Skeleton was always like this, always trying to act cool. Among the few of them, the Speed Skeleton’s growth was considered average. Despite being just a Lower-Rank Skeleton, his combat power was comparable to a Triple Enchantment Ox Demon.
This was because their methods of growth were different. The Speed Skeleton’s path of advancement was more arduous, so his progress was naturally slower than his brothers, which made him feel quite resentful.
Back in the underground, the Speed Skeleton had been responsible for harassment and sneak attacks, and most of the time, he couldn’t secure a kill. He had been holding in his frustration for a long time. Now, seeing these Bear Goblins, he was naturally delighted for the chance to show off his strength.
The Speed Skeleton turned to look at his companions. The Physical Skeleton gave him a good-natured wave, letting him do as he pleased. The Power Skeleton also nodded. As for the Ox Demon... ’What right does an Ox Demon have to speak?’
With his brothers’ approval, what was there to hesitate about? The Speed Skeleton’s form blurred as he shot directly into the camp. He moved like a fish swimming through water, slipping past the other goblins before they could even react and making a beeline for the Bear Goblins.
The Speed Skeleton relied on his advantage in Speed. The ordinary goblins didn’t even notice an Undead running past them; they were still busy fighting the Skeleton Beasts in front of them. The Speed Skeleton’s targets weren’t these common grunts, anyway. He only went after the big ones!
As an Agile Type assassin, the Speed Skeleton was all about one-hit kills. Seizing the moment a Bear Goblin was preoccupied with a Frenzied Skeleton Giant Tusked Boar, he leaped into the air. He flashed past, decapitating it in an instant, then spread his wings, gliding gracefully for a distance before landing and vanishing once more.
The Bear Goblin died an utterly baffling death, not even knowing what it was that had taken its head.
He wasn’t effective against the tough-skinned, incredibly experienced Demonized Creatures, but when facing Bear Goblins, the Speed Skeleton displayed astonishing combat prowess. In a short time, he had already killed five Bear Goblins.
The Goblin Commander at the rear noticed something was wrong.
"What was that thing? Did you see it?" He had only caught a glimpse of a leaping black shadow as it brushed past a Bear Goblin, and then the Bear Goblin’s head fell off.
’Damn, it’s cutting down Bear Goblins as if they were dogs.’
’In just this short delay, several Bear Goblins have died. This can’t go on! I can’t let a creature like that continue!’
"Find that black shadow and surround it!" the Goblin Commander shrieked.
Several small figures in red hats by his side instantly vanished, entering the battlefield.
