Chapter 1002 - 306: Green-skinned Demon (Part 2)
The undead legion that Su Changxing commands isn’t endless; it is a legacy, the inheritance from the previous owner of the Book of the Dead. The undead within the legion are tougher than ordinary undead, capable of traversing various terrains, making them an army suitable for expeditions.
"Undead! Why can that human control the undead? Humans should no longer possess such power." Each green-skinned monster wore an identical expression of confusion. It had seen humans control undead before, but that was in a distant era, a time when it wasn’t even a Celestial Calamity Demon.
The world’s rules are not fixed and are constantly changing, maintaining a dynamic balance. What could be accomplished in the past does not mean it can still be done now, and vice versa.
Everything is subtly transforming, including the Extraordinary themselves.
The undead army and green-skinned monsters clashed fiercely, with the individual strength of the green-skinned monsters being formidable, while the undead were vast in number.
Initially, the undead legion had the upper hand, with the support of the Right Camp army, suppressing the demon tightly.
The killed green-skinned monsters would turn into liquid and quickly vanish.
However, as the number of green-skinned monsters’ divisions increased, the situation became unsettling, as if they could endlessly divide. This ability now seemed incredibly powerful.
This demon has no primary body, or rather, each green-skinned monster is the primary body. Even the deceased green-skinned monsters can continue to divide, so the only way to kill this demon is to annihilate all the green-skinned monsters.
Though each green-skinned monster’s strength weakens with division, the overall strength continues to rise.
Su Changxing stood by, watching the battle unfold, hesitating to intervene, wanting to see what abilities the demon possessed, hoping to see it demonstrate its full capabilities.
He suspected that his advancement was related to these captured demons, anticipating a qualitative leap in his power.
Wenze, seeing Su Changxing’s reluctance to act, grew anxious and shouted loudly: "Lord, if this goes on, the demon’s strength will keep growing."
They were experienced in these matters. Initially, when they encountered this demon, its diminutive appearance led them to believe its power wasn’t formidable.
But once the battle began, they realized the error; the demon relentlessly divided, growing stronger over time until they were defeated.
An enormous army was thus consumed by the green-skinned demon.
"Having devoured tens of thousands of Extraordinary, this demon’s power is likely more formidable than before; it must be resolved swiftly," Wenze called out once more, wishing he could charge forward immediately, yet he was in a half-dead state, with a crippled leg.
Su Changxing’s casual attitude left him somewhat worried, feeling they should be more cautious.
Sean stood nearby, hands clasped, watching the scene unfold, patting Wenze on the shoulder, saying: "General, you needn’t worry. The boss has his plans; dealing with this demon isn’t a major issue."
Wenze gasped: "I’m just afraid that Lord Su might be careless..."
With continuous division, the number of green-skinned monsters reached over a thousand, each possessing terrifying combat prowess, leaving the undead legion struggling, unable to resurrect quickly enough to match the rate of death.
Despite holding the advantage, the green-skinned demon remained vigilant, sharply sensing danger, feeling that the human was toying with it, treating it as a plaything, never personally engaging.
This reminded it suddenly of those terrifying void entities, sending chills down its spine.
A demon’s fear differs from a human’s; it is not emotional dread but instinctive avoidance, akin to microorganisms avoiding dry environments, moving towards moisture.
[Green-skinned Demon: Tier Five, ruler among Celestial Calamity Demons. In combat status, able to draw strength from Chaos, infinitely self-dividing, instilling deep fear.
Numbers mean nothing before it; without absolute strength, defeating it is impossible.]
"Human, let me show you what terror truly is!" Over a thousand green-skinned monsters simultaneously fixed their gaze on Su Changxing, emitting piercing cries that echoed across the battlefield.
The green-skinned demon couldn’t withstand the intangible pressure, choosing to strike proactively.
Dusk intertwined with chains within the space, enveloping all the green-skinned demons.
A grand Domain unfolded nearly instantly across the battlefield.
In the Death Rift, it might have been troublesome, with unruled powers, but outside, for Su Changxing to kill a Celestial Calamity Demon was a trivial matter.
His strength had long surpassed conventional limits, demanding an extraordinary gaze to perceive him. Estimating conservatively, he was at least Tier Four, capable of rivaling Saints, among the strongest Extraordinary in the All Heavens and Myriad Realms, the peak of humanity, the highest category of Players.
Beyond that, one enters the Domain of the Divine Spirit, where humans seldom tread, a step that redefines humanity itself.
Almost instantly.
The green-skinned monsters on the battlefield were pierced by flying silver light, dying en masse, their blood suspended in mid-air, everything frozen in time.
