Chapter 1001 - 306: Green-skinned Demon

Su Changxing also looked somewhat surprised at the small Demon on the wilderness. Although its size was small, it was definitely a Calamity Level Demon.

This was somewhat contrary to the norm; Calamity Level Demons were usually very large. Among those of the same level, Demons possessed far greater mass than humans, and thus their combat power far surpassed that of humans.

Guo Renqian reminded on the side: "Sir, don’t be fooled by this Demon’s small size. Its strength is undeniable. We’ve already had no fewer than five Tier Five Extraordinaries die at its hands."

"Its power grows stronger with every battle."

Su Changxing nodded, indicating he understood, yet he seemed to not regard the Demon before him at all, displaying a casual indifference.

Guo Renqian took it all in, his eyelids twitching involuntarily, suspecting that Su Changxing was of that level of an Extraordinary. His expression relaxed a lot, especially since someone higher up was holding the line; even if the sky fell, it wouldn’t hit him first.

Before, he was the highest, so he worried the sky would crash on his head, making him anxious.

The small Green-skinned Demon had cunning eyes, appearing smarter than the average human, and it instantly locked its sights on Su Changxing, knowing he was the strongest human present.

Su Changxing also realized a problem: the Demons in the Death Rift had generally low intelligence. Even those Calamity Level Demons he caught looked dazed, except for Luo Haodong who was an exception.

The Death Rift seemed to erode the Demons’ intelligence, weakening their power to a certain extent, as wisdom itself is a kind of power.

"You humans look powerful, and quite delicious too," unexpectedly, the Green-skinned Demon was the first to speak, sounding like a child’s voice—sharp and fitting its appearance. It felt natural, not out of place.

Shen Jinxuan blinked her eyes, unable to resist a quip: "I thought Demons were all fools... This one looks like a child, maybe not too bright."

"..."

Su Changxing chuckled and explained: "The Death Rift is quite special; usually, these clever and shrewd Demons are the norm here. They’re even adept at exploiting human nature, and many humans end up embracing Chaos because they made deals with the Demons."

Shen Jinxuan shrugged thoughtfully: "Sounds like the legends. I am curious about how one makes deals with Demons."

Demon: "..."

It realized the two humans before it were deliberately mocking it, completely disregarding it, as it showed a cold expression with an ugly, sinister grin:

"Arrogant and ignorant humans, you will regret your hubris. Even Chaos will not accept your death!"

It planned to grind the souls of these two humans into dust and swallow them whole.

Next.

The Green-skinned Demon began to split out of thin air, one to two, two to four, four to eight. Each one was identical in size, appearance, and aura, as if clone copies were formed, quickly assembling into a green army, splitting endlessly, sending chills down the spine.

Wenze and others had surely seen this kind of scene before. At that time, it was this Demon that caused their army of a hundred thousand to suffer half the losses. By the time they retreated, the green Demons already numbered in the thousands.

Typically, even if an army of a hundred thousand wasn’t a match for a Calamity Level Demon, it could at least hold out for some time. An army is more than just individuals; it’s a cohesive whole, bonded by belief.

This Demon’s ability was too unique, causing the army to fall apart quickly.

In Su Changxing’s perception, every Green-skinned Monster looked identical, but they were part of a whole, a part of the Green-skinned Demon.

This resembled the structure of an army.

"Want to compete in numbers?" Su Changxing revealed a faint smile. A book glowing with a ghostly green light hovered in front of him, interwoven with flowing light, gently swirling the breeze.

The power belonging to the Scepter was grasped in his hand

"Answer my call, fallen Heroes!"

From across the void came the response to the call, chaotic ripples resonated in the space—a series of ghostly green flames appeared, more and more of them.

The sky darkened abruptly, as if shadowed.

A multitude of skeletons and zombies crawled from the ground, joints cracking, rusting sounds echoed, becoming increasingly nimble, with Ghouls subconsciously gnawing at nearby corpses.

A variety of Undead creatures emerged.

An entire Undead Legion was dragged from the other side of the void because of the blessing of Faith, so the consumption wasn’t too great, even sustainable for a long time.

Su Changxing also sensed a change in the Undead Legion compared to before. A part was missing, lost in the World of Heaven, trapped by the Blood Moon, likely obliterated.

In reality, the Undead are quite fragile, not truly immortal or unextinguishable. Compared to normal beings, they are more fragile, only able to exist for prolonged periods in specific places, often unsuitable for human habitations.

But history saw too many living creatures die, their souls converted into Undead, resulting in a vast, practically inexhaustible number.
